Ok so I have put some time into starting my legendary.

Have my precursor.
Have the Gift of Wood and Battle
Have almost the whole gift of stealth (damn Onyx Lodestones are expensive!)
77 Clovers check....

Now I am looking at my bank after crafting all of the clovers and wondering how the heck I am going to get 200+ of each of the T6 fine materials. I mean I guess I got lucky with my clover crafts or something but crafting this legendary just seems VERY grindy. With their anti bot coding it makes farming mobs for them extremely difficult/non efficient and the prices for them on the TP fluctuate far to often to make TP trading for them a little off.

What do you guys do for the T6 mats or what tips may you have?

Play the TP for huge profits.
Upgrading any t5 mats you have.
Run dungeons (~1g/run) to buy t6 mats and earn them yourself.

Try to farm them (least fun/fast way)

Im terrible at playing the TP

Does the t5 mat upgrade require the 250 of the T5 mat or is there a smaller recipe?

There are smaller per 50 recipes, but I'm not very sure of them anymore, it's been awhile since I did it.
But I'm sure thee are guides on wiki or somewhere on reddit or so.

Keep in mind though it might be cheaper to sell all those t5 mats and then buy back t6 ones with the gold you earned.

No it safes u alot of money sometimes even makes money when u sell.

At least for most of the mats not for bones and claws(probaly also scales). All Mats that are 10 S + each are good.

t5 cost around 80 Bronze each and u need 50 of em. Then 5 Dust wich are 4-5 now (lets say 5) so 25 S + 40 S for 50 t5 = 65 S for at least probaly 5 (I forged a few thoasand and my avarage is 6,3 sometimes u get like 10 from them.) But let's say u get 5 that means 13 S per t6.

If something cost 15 S each u won't make profit by selling them cause the fee but u buy them way cheaper.

For Onyx the same. U can upgrade Cores to Onyx. Not sure of current price but lets say Lodestone is 4 G and Core 1.6(was like that a while back). 2 cores = 3.2 + Crystal(sp) + 1 t6 dust 5 S + While = 26. That means 3.51 G. Well could sell them and make a small profit(this is what decides the price of lodestones currently btw) But it also is an way cheaper way to earn them.

I will have to look at the process for upgrading the t5 to t6 mats to see how economical that really is.

Current prices on the Onyx is a little shakey. Costs (at buyout prices) about 2g 15s to make a lodestone and they sell for about 2g 60s. If the prices for the dust go up or the cores goes up it may cause that process to not be worth it.

So if I get it right:

50 Fine T5 Mat
1 T6 Mat
1 T6 Dust
1 Skill Point (for 5 Philo Stones)

That correct for the recipie?

Close , u need 5 T6 dust and it 1 sp for 10 Philo so it cost 0,5 SP per try.

And when I said allways 5 back and 6,3 is not including the 1 t6 u put in(so u get 6-7,3 in ur screen after the forge)

So the cost of 50 of the T5 mat +1 Dust and 1 T6 mat would need to be less than 6-8 of the T6 mat for this to be worth it?

I know karka drops blood nicely, bone/dust from orr. But what about otherse?

Scales: The Drakes
Claws: Anything that normally has a claw I would asume
Venom: Spiders of high level
Totem: Not sure on this one
Bone: Undead stuff
Dust: Undead stuff

Sons of svanir, grawl, hylek all drop totems. Flame Legion may as well, but I don't think there are any level 80 flame legion out there. Northern Fireheart Rise might have high enough level flame legion to drop the tier 6. But I'd just farm Frostgorge grawl for them, personally.

Now if we could only fix the anti-bot coding that ANet has put in and increase the drop rate on some of the fine mats so farming mobs would actually be worth it.

Potent Blood (I'm not sure whether they drop Powerful Blood, if someone can confirm this as a yes or a no) can be farmed from the Minotaur just North of the Arundon Waypoint in Frostgorge Sound. There's a circular path, they spawn pretty quickly and if you have some reasonable passive defense, you can aggro quite a few of them at a time. I know it isn't Powerful Blood, but it can get you there.

Both Potent and Powerful Venom can be farmed from the Risen Spiders that spawn during the Shelter Event in the Cursed Shores, so you can gather that while you're collecting Ancient Bones and your Crystalline Dust all in one sweep between the normal Risen and the Risen Spiders.

The Grawl (as stated) in Frostgorge Sound are a pretty good source for your Elaborate Totems.

The Icebrood Colossus outside of the Ice Floe Waypoint in Frostgorge Sound are a good source of both Large and Vicious Claws. They're also a great source for farming Corrupted Lodestones.

I have heard that the lodestone drop rate for most of the elementals is utterly abysmal so that may not work, but getting them while farming for the claws will be very helpful.

Don't you get most tier 6 mats when trying to forge mystic clovers? When trying to get mine I just kept getting a bunch of tier 6 mats

I made all 77 of my clovers already, and have anywhere between 30 to 50 of each t6 fine mat. I dont know if im just lucky or if that is about average for getting all 77 clovers.

Wait wait wait,

You have 77 clovers and the precursor?
Dude your work is over, most of us don't even have a precursos let alone the money to buy it, or try to start feeding the mystic toilet

and besides, most T6 are cheap
There are only like 2 things that cost over 10 silver a piece
Most stack can be bought for 37 gold and under.

After getting my precursor, im sitting on 22g :/ and i still have 71 Onyx Lodestones to get.

Been trying to buy Spark for weeks. Tried the mystic *er too, wasted 150g doing that. At any rate I've given up. I'll wait till Anet make them free.

But I have all the T6 mats/ ectos/ gifts for x3 Legendaries. Just lacking the Karma, SPs, 100 Icy Runestones and x2 Incinerator pre-cursors. Wish I was in your shoes

Until they make them free I'll just craft Quip cause it's cheap :3

The 77 clovers is not that hard to get. Factoring a 33% success rate, it cost about a stack of 250 ectos and 250 mystic coins (77x3 =231).  The obsidian shards you get from karma just comes naturally.  The hardest thing to obtain for your legendary weapons now are Lodestones - specifically the Charged ones if that is what you require for the LG wep you are making.  You need 100 of them, and they were fluctuating around 4-5 gold each last night in the TP.  Thats 400-500 gold.

Curious thread, because attempting clovers you should have found (missing the clover) a lot of t6 mats and lodes. Some waits the clover part to collect loads of them (expecially attempting the x10 attempt, and when t6 happens is 10 lodes). Meh, good luck, keep farming/ buying them if able.

I did the 1x attempt for all but 2 tries. First try i got a bunch of leather (useless) second try i got 10 clovers.

You've got it easy, back when I was making my legendary, prices of t6 mats were crazy, 25s-30s for each.

Farm the ones that drop the most, buy the ones that don't (usually the more expensive ones)

RNG is RNG man, I had a little 3 run streak with 10 Stack clovers, and now i've put seven 10 stacks into the mystic and got nadda
