Charrs can look awesome, unless you go light armor, then its shit.

Well, my friend play a Necromancer Charr and he use the Acolyte Armor Exotic. The snake on the shoulder is like 10 times bigger this just look awesome. You really notice the snake face on the shoulder if you compare to a human.

Otherwise i never played a light charr so i can't say. I play myself a Charr Guardian and its actually my main character. I use a mix of cultural tier 3 (really one of the best looking armor of the game), CoF and CoE armor in the Blue/Steel colors and he really look awesome. I will post a picture of him when i can.

And here is a charr I made for fun (I like making charr, can you tell? =P):

Posted Image

One thing that helps me make interesting-looking (to me) charr is applying basic character design principles -- pick hair/fur colors that complement and contrast well with each other, pay attention to scale and symmetry in facial features, etc. For female charr in particular, I think making their eyes and irises smaller rather than larger helps give them a more fierce/serious expression, as well. Angle of the eyes and amount of squint also affects expression a lot. For male charr, making their eyes larger with less squint can sometimes make a face look better (since many male faces have very tiny eyes compared to the female faces). Nose width can also makes a big difference in how their face looks.

I sought to make the most contradictory, least popular profession/race/sex combination but ended up with this.
Too adorable to delete.

I see quite a lot of Charr Necros TBH. You should have made a Charr Mes, the only 2 I've ever seen are my 2 friends :)

Compare with any other race the leggings are short and the helmet just looks stretched out. Which imo ruins the whole thing.

Leggings and short?

Nope..

I wanted to give mine a very basic, yet ferocious look. No fancy stripes or creepily sized horns. Just pure, yellow-eyed, big-teethed goodness.

Other races tend to look the same between themselves (Having been there I can't only blame poor creativity) The charr got plenty of faces with different, interesting moods and tastes attached to it. You could almost read on them and it matters alot on the looks, from the confident Warrior to the slightly retarded Necromancer, while going through the jaded and observant Engineer, it's delightful at times. I love to compare myself to other interesting Charrs, often during the times we get to do Dungeons and such.

Here is my Guardian;

Skryma the Wolf
Posted Image

I wanted her to have an older look, like the warrior veteran type. I also wanted her to look more like a wolf than a cat...but well... kinda failed on that one. But I like her anyway and think she looks cool. (lvl 15 at the pic now 41+)

Here she is now:
