So many skills, weapons, and traits are just bad, don't flow well, or just feel uninspired. To be fair I am a game systems nerd and always focus in on skill/class design in any MMO, but in most cases the professions in this game feel incomplete.

My pet peeve, though, would have to be 2-5 weapon skills doing such terrible damage. If I'm in fighting a blind immune mob, a skill that blinds should at least do enough damage to warrant its use against a blind immune foe and not be outshined by autoattack.

No new content, I would like to see bugs and current content reworked before new content is added. Rework all the old dungeons so the rewards are worth it, make trash fun to kill and not important to skip, give bosses some actual mechanics. Oh and lastly add some rare skins unique to those dungeons as a rare drop from boss chests.

A few new PvP modes, non conquest.

Dungeon finder.

Better looking armor.

A new race and/or profession.

A new map or two would be cool too. They said the updates would be the size of expansions right?

TBH they're not that bothersome.  

1. the much needed WvW updates
2. traits for all classes reworked
3. Group finder for PVE.

What will realistically happen (best case scenario):

-Fractal improvements that were already stated
-WvW improvements that were already stated
-MAYBE 1-3 new fractals
-Small changes to dungeon rewards
-Another small boost to open-world loot (not enough to compete with dungeons/fractals)
-1 new map
-1 new jumping puzzle
-a bunch of stuff added to the gem shop and BLC
-some bug fixes and balancing

Don't put your hopes up people...

First of all, they've confirmed that Fractal Improvements and Dungeon Loot/Open World Loot improvements are SEPARATE things. Secondly something people aren't getting is they have stated that it's bigger than all the updates so far COMBINED.

a few things posted in this thread may happen...but man, some of the other things people are hoping for...not a chance in hell of ever happening. some of you really are getting your hopes up for nothing, i hope youre prepared for disappointment...

They really shouldn't have used the word 'expansion', now they kind of have to live up to the hype and make it worthy of the title.

I hope for, new WvW maps, New dungeons maybe?, new fractals, new pve map/s, new spvp maps and modes, new weapon/armour skins, legendaries to be account bound and un-tp-able and lastly that precursor scavenger hunt thing.

This will never happen because Anet seem stuck on "NEW CONTENT" NEW CONTENT!!!!!!111!!! or "WE LOVE ESPORTS"!!!1111!! Here is what I would like.

-Nothing but a massive amount of bug fixes, dungeon fix's.

-Preview on trading outpost

-A complete revamp of dungeons where I don't feel like im just bashing on uber health bars until win.

-A full revamp of guild functions, social functions and guild halls put into the game. New goals for guild influence and for guilds to work on.

-Mini games like we were promised in every single major city with hard to get achievements, why do we get holiday one's that dissapear but not these? They need to be very social orientated.

-A removal of diminishing returns on dungeons. If someone wants to play a dungeon 10 times in one day they should be allowed to on whatever character they use without being punished for it.

-A full revamp of WvW warfare, more social functions in WvW, more ability's to team up, Alliances in WvW of guilds, more objectives and more meaning to those objectives, more WvW maps that are not just copy and paste.

-New PVE areas that are challenging but players actually want to play them, not like lost shores which was epic fail and noone hardly uses except for botters....

-The ability to start using more some of this technology in the world like charr subs, airships, mech warrior golems warfare. Charr battle cars, asuran mega lasers, dredge carrier tanks etc.

-Bring back the old guild wars 1 lore and really flesh out the lore and story of the game, its something I miss from GW1 and is seriously lacking in GW2, I don't feel like there is an RPG in this RPG MMO. I don't feel a connection to the world or any of my characters and the storyline was just one massive dissapointment. Battle of Fort Trinity for just one example. Claw island was alot better. Eye Of The North and Nightfall really shined in this area, I felt like I was part of the game and part of the different races culture, I was totally sucked into the world of tyria and guild wars. Guild wars 2 feels like a hollow shell compared to Guild Wars 1 in terms of lore and atmosphere.

-Lower the cost of waypoints at lvl 80, lower the trading post taxes by atleast 5%. You don't need listing fee's and heavy taxes on top.

-Better selection of Armor skins, weapon skins, give us the ability to look truely unique and not like everyone else, right now most players look very alike.

-More stat choices in Fractal items, right now the choices of stats are crap and some exotic sets are completely missing.

-Do something to stop PVE areas from becoming waste lands after being completed, give players reasons and incentives to come back to those areas instead of just 90% of the game being empty and everyone is in lions arch....

Actually I changed my mind all I want in the update is MECH WARRIOR GOLEM WARFARE MINI GAME or GOLEM GUILD WARS for short.

More Ascended gear.
Higher level cap (10 levels).
Higher level cap gear.
Ascended gear only purchaseable from gem store.
More dungeons, 10 and 25 player.
Mounts and flying mounts, also gem store only.
Gear progression in PVP.
More higher level areas.
More fractals.
Another dungeon hub in Lion's Arch.
Bigger shoulder pieces.
Actual gear treadmill.

Considering this is ArenaNet we are talking about, most of this stuff is actually not that far fetched.

- PvP/WvW upgrades. Let's face it, they need some serious help.
- More fractals and please rebalance them. I mean, Cliffside compared to Swamp is just hilarious.
- Rebalance all dungeons. Things like CoF p1 make everything else look like a complete waste of time.
- More skills. Please give us more skills for the existing professions/weapons before adding any new ones.
- Something that makes people play in mid and low level PvE areas.

If you watched the ending cinematic for the personal story you would know that the fate of the Risen are not bound to Zhaitan (i.e. that if he dies, they die...again). It's even stated that the heroes of Tyria still have an armada of Risen that need to be destroyed, hence why Orr is still full of Risen.

-More activities that aren't tied to events. Been really wanting to play Lunatic Inquisition of late.
-Cosmetic rewards from activities to give people incentive to play them. Think of the rewards system for Runescape minigames, CastleWars, etc.
-More Jumping Puzzles, Ideally a largescale one that gets progressively harder, with different reward chests along the way. More timed ones with scaleable difficulty/rewards. Another one in WvW for the PvP, or an activity one.
-More zones that aren't the size of Southsun.
-Daily/weekly events that give people incentive to go back to lower level zones.
-Elite areas.
-In game non-automatic dungeon finder, similar to how GW2LFG works.
-Cross server zones to boost population, think underflow servers.
-Storyline progression. Zhaitan is dead, Destiny's Edge is -still- planning who to go after next. Trahaerne is still alive, needs killing off.
-New WvW Content/rewards/enjoyment.
-News on player housing.
-News on GvG

Honestly, with it being stated that January/February  is going to be an "Expansions worth of content", it had better include a bunch of QoL improvements/new game features. Just including a few new zones/fractal dungeons really isn't going to cut it when overall there's a huge lack of things to do.

I want ANET to lure players back into the actual world of Guild Wars instead of cramming them into instanced dungeons. If a major chunk of the population is meant to play in instances then I might as well stuck with GW1.

Good, then let's hope they'll introduce this as soon as possible. The game is still nothing but a snoozefest sorry excuse for a real MMORPG. Not even a real gear progression system, what an absolute joke.

I can tell you for a fact that this will never ever happen. This should've been clear from the very moment ArenaNet chose to introduce Fractals of the Mist to their game along with a very, very poorly designed map. Not only did they completely ignore player feedback regarding this but they also put that dungeon's entrance in Lion's Arch where almost everyone already spent most of their time. Why do you think are they permanently nerfing drop rates from open world enemies? They don't want people to reside in these areas. All I can say is: Dream on.

The immediate release of all remaining ascended gear parts and the corresponding infusion tier

An answer to whether an increased level cap will have any effect on stats of future gear drops.


I know that either wish is unrealistic, but it would at least allow me to consider playing again

i wanna see new items ^^ and some sort of "daily monster hunting" implented. Like going back to low lvl zones to defeat some hidden champion mobs:D

Ofcourse it will, but I only see a increased level cap happening with a true, paid expansion.
