Here's Angry Joe's top 10 best games of 2012 list.

Now I want to see people complain about how he didn't play the game or how he is biased.

Thats funny cause all who say that GW2 isnt best game of the year are actually biased.

I didn't say that.
But a common complaint about some of GW2 GOTY awards is about the big magazines only listening to money from the devs, or don't playing the game and just awarding games based on texts written by the devs,...

While angry joe, isn't afraid to say when he doesn't like something, I believe he's one the few people to really trust on reviewing games.

And if really that is common complaint then it only shows how right i am, cause if magazines would listen to money they would probobly listen to Ubisoft or BioWare and not ArenaNet.

I was wondering why this was on a GW based forum!

Angry Joe is awesome but sometimes he goes a bit to over the top but personally I do as well when it comes to my opinions on games I both dislike and like, I can't say I always agree with AJ but the guy is made of pure awesome and generally has a pretty fair opinion on games.

I don't know if (Objectively of course, or as much as it can be) Guild Wars 2 should be the first on a top ten list for games this year.

This list actually comes alot closer to my top10 than alot of the people saying dishonored/AC3 should be nr1.
Or the walking dead.. Really, a game that's more a movie should be nr1..

You can say what you want about AJ, but he is honest in his reviews. Something some professional reviewers could learn from him.

I haven't played enough games from this year to even make a top 10, but GW2 is my personal GOTY too.

From what i expected to what i got, is GW2 best ?
No not really, it`s good to a certain point then takes a huge dive....as far it goes with list none of the other games are MMO`s and since i stopped playing single player games long time ago i can`t speak about them.

What i would like to see is showdown between MMO heavyweights (not based on year of production) but more like best of the best category and subcategories !

I know GW2 would win in art department and overall graphics (cause simply put it is best looking game) but content, fan base and other category`s no it just isn`t that fun or addictive, not even close to GW1 which is a shame !

Even with GW2 flaws it comes down to this everytime, is it worth the purchase price?

Thousands of hours of gameplay and a crap ton of different game modes and types for a purchase price similar to some console games that gives you 12 hours of gameplay......

So yeah its worth every penny and more for the price they ask.

Indeed. GW2 is my second favorite game to come out this year (ME3 is my first despite the ending). Overall I think his list is pretty darn good and close to my personal list.

That's a shame really, you should try out some more games, there's some really good ones out there that you're missing out on. MMORPGs don't make for very good video game, they usually survive off of their persistent world, social aspects and compulsion inducing grind. It's one of the reasons GW2 is so praised, it competes in quality with actually video games, not just MMORPGS.

ME3 does not deserve to be above XCOM.

ME3 doesn't deserve to be anywhere unless it's a "top worst games ever made" list. It ruined an entire franchise.

Yeah that game was bad, and it wasn't just the ending. That game was just horribly designed and the entire narrative shat over everything that the creators of ME1 and ME2 worked so hard to build up.

And to the ppl who are bashing ME3, there are a lot of ppl who are putting it on their top 10 for a reason.. you can hate on it, but it's still a realy good game and if for nothing else, you can enjoy it for all the characters in it. And the gameplay was the best in ME3, soo.. yeah. You can hate it for anything you want to, but it's a realy good game overall.

i trust angry joe because he is not like the other reviewers(e.g. IGN). He actually reviews the game. It is like rotten tomatoes really.
Year 2012 IMO does not have the greatest PC games released compared to 2011. Not surprised gw2 wins because it is the best of 2012.

But i disagree with number 3. ME3 does not deserve the spot. It is like putting Maplestory as number 1 of the best free rpg games....

Anything by EA = BS. Bring back the old bioware..

I mostly agree with his list but Planetside 2 is WAY ahead of Borderlands 2. Did not play ranks 4-2, can't comment.

Am totally disappointed with TotalBiscuit's picks. Can't help but feel that his picks are motivated by friends or connections he has within the industry. Counter Strike GO is total crap, even worse than Borderlands 2.

The fact that Guild Wars 2 did not make TotalBiscuit's picks surprises me quite a bit.

Will check out this AngryJoe vlogger more often now.

Just to be clear, these ppl make these lists based on what THEY played the most, and ENJOYED the most. If you follow the TGS podcasts, these are the games ha talked the most about, sure he played with GW2, but only with the beta,and when it was released, he never even touched it, cuz he had other things to do, and other games came out that he generally enjoy more than MMOs. And he said it a lot of times, that ha can't realy get himself playing mmos anymore so here's the reason why he left out GW2.

I see what you are saying and yea he did mention in the past that he is more of an FPS guy. I noticed that WoW kinda left a bad MMO taste in his mouth during 2011-2012. That said, wouldn't rly conduct my lists in the manner he does. Rather what games push the envelope.

Angry Joe puts a lot of emphasis on value. GW2 is an MMO with no sub fee so obviously it has a huge advantage in that department. I'm not sure Joe even plays GW2 anymore though and during his review he didn't seem like the most hardcore player either.

Like all reviews they're based on opinions, I will say Angry Joe is one of the better ones out there. And does a far more unbiased review, then what some of these so called "journalists" spew out.

I feel most of you say AngryJoe is one of the best and unbiased just because he put GW2 as #1.

Interesting, surprised WalkingDead wasn't a lot higher on the list.  Relieved to see that Hawken & PS2 were only slightly above it, makes me feel better about my own judgements on them  *(too bad I had to waste a whole month on PS2 just to confirm those suspicions first though).

No it's because if there's one issue (or several in some cases) with a game that hurts its long term success for a casual player, he's narrowed in on it far better than most higher paid Reviwers ever could...  And no I don't agree with him putting GW2 @ #1 if that helps your own obvious Bias rest at ease a little better...

I like Angry Joe's reviews even though they're often rather over the top and silly, mostly because he does try to be as critical as possible despite any biases he may have, plus I find myself agreeing with many of his views on gaming. Obviously as a fan of the game I'm happy to see it as his #1 game of the year
