WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS

It will show you the GW2 authentication page and then redirect your login input to an unknown website
http://tradingpost-live.ncplatform.net

The domain registration is here: You will see that it is private. And there is nothing else hosted here. This is not an official ANet service. http://www.whois.net.../ncplatform.net

That is probably a NCSoft domain protected by WhoisGuard (http://www.whoisguard.com/).  If you use fiddler, launch GW2 and open the TP window, you will see that it goes to that same domain also.  Also, write up on interfacing with the GW2 TP:

Very nice to hear from you Daesu, i've been busy lately but for the gw2spidy API, that's what i'm working with right now :) I'm still a learner in javascript, but consider it quite a powerful language, so I love to learn more !

Nice to hear from you too.  I basically ported Ruben's PHP code for his API, in github, into javascript.  It was a straight-forward port and it works well enough although on certain mornings, gw2spidy has problems and "phantom" items appear in the list.  So far that only happened to me twice when the gw2spidy server reported problems.  :)  Other than that, it works well enough for me.

I'd say this should allay most people's worries if this is legit or not.

There is also a way of communicating with the TP HTTP server without the need to input your GW2 email and password.  All you need is the session key and the session key from your GW2 game client is more useful than the session key generated from account.guildwars2.com.

With the game client session key you can browse your own buy and sell transaction listings and also the individual buy/sell listings for each item.  To get the game client session key, you can monitor the http traffic or search for it in the GW2 client memory space.  I prefer the former as it is less hacky, the latter is probably easier and more straight-forward.  The drawback, you may need to run as admin.

The thing is, it is better to be "paranoid" (Most people would call it thinking, but whatever) than to have a accounts comprimised especially since we all know that ArenaNet will get the blame for it.

If people make applications that requires login-details they have to accept that fact that people will be suspicious about it.

I understand what your saying. But your still missing the fact of a Official ANet Rep verified the extension.

No I am not,
What you said did however sound that you though people where wrong to be sceptic about a unverified application.

By the way, I just found out that Ruben has a write-up of the GW2 session key here:

https://github.com/r...sayshi/gw2spidy

(at the bottom).

In summary there are at least 2 different types of session keys, one generated from account.guildwars2.com and the other is generated by the game client, which has more access to the trading post.  The latter can be used to monitor your pending transactions and create buy bids or cancel them.

I haven't had the time to play with rubensayshi's API, alot have been going on lately. Can you give me some tip on what do i need in his source to make a basic Gw2spidy search bar, display prices, and I can go from there. I know it's a json api but haven't figured out what I need to pull other than that. Thanks

You can use his item search: https://github.com/r...iki-item-search

e.g.

http://www.gw2spidy....ksteel Hammer/1

To return a list of items of a particular type: https://github.com/r...#wiki-item-list
To return data on a particular item, if you know its data id: https://github.com/r...#wiki-item-data
To return a list of buy or sell historical data for a particular item: https://github.com/r...i-item-listings

If anyone is interested in accessing the session key from the Gw2 memory space, here is where you can find it:

004180B0 56                   PUSH ESI
004180B1 E8 AAFEFFFF    CALL 00417F60
004180B6 833D 94935F01 CMP DWORD PTR DS:[15F9394],0

It is stored as a 16-bytes Guid.

so, um, not to necro an old post or anything, but is this project still in development?  I'm pretty impressed by what I've seen in this thread so far...

Well i've built a chrome version using GW2SPIDy api, but i'm using it privately and for friends, not thinking of making it public, I don't think people want something like this, except to bash on it lol, altho I had 190+ downloads.

Yes it is sad, because some responses from the community, to such work have been negative.  Zicore made a nice app for notifications of TP events that you can subscribe for and some people attacked his work.

https://forum-en.gui...al-im-out/first

If they think that Zicore's app gives people an unfair advantage, wait till they see mine and we are not even hacking the client.  I'll probably be lynched when I release it.  :)

I am thinking something that is more specific to flipping/playing the TP by providing crucial information for them that I can't find in any of the released tools.
