Pretty sure my guild is international based though, we have members on during basically every timezone, just more during certain times. We don't always see eye to eye with SoS' NA crew, but i know for a fact that you guys have an amazing oceanic crew.

I'm not the best WvW player but I do love getting in a group and getting stuff done. And I do love PvE too.

Players, I'd encourage you to read all of the recruitment posts before deciding, including this one from page 1. SoS is a worthy adversary and is the right server for some players and guilds. Blackgate is the right server for other players and guilds. SoR has their own feel and vibe as well. Look around and match your personality to the posters in their favorite recruitment thread.

The truth is, every server needs transfers. There aren't enough WvW players PERIOD to fill the gaps each server has. SoS would love to have you. Read this thread and if what they're saying appeals to you, go for it!

Not much time left for those undecideds to vote with their feet and get to a server that's guaranteed to have players in 5 or 7 months from now. SoS is one of those servers!

Hello there - I go by the name Llaama, and I'm a member of the guild TSym, I play a Norn engineer.  Unlike many of our members in TSym I am based in Europe so I don't get to run with the main force all that often.


I have played MMOGs since UO beta (and MUDs before that, showing my age~) and the community I see in SoS is just like what I experienced in DAoC on the Palomides server, which has been the highlight of my time in these kinds of games.  I love the WvW game format - it reminds me of the PK/antiPK wars, the glory that was RvR, and even (a little) the original Alterac Valley maps in WoW.  Of course it could use some improvements (these kinds of formats always can) but I suppose we'll see what happens next month with the big WvW patch.

I was one of those who moved originally from Dragonbrand and the SoS community and playerbase here in SoS is what keeps me playing GW2.  And although I'm sure that our good friends from the JQ propaganda corps will try to deny it, we are still getting transfers into SoS and we are seeing more and more people express an interest in joining us in WvW (we discovered a guild originally from SBI yesterday in EB who was doing great work!).

We have quite a few guilds who are hardcore into WvW, we have some who are more casual WvWers - of course all are welcome!  For those who haven't done WvW before, we help them understand some of the key objectives, have strategy posts and discussions on the forums, and of course are always open for questions...after all, we were all newbies once.

So if you want to be a part of a great community and have a great and positive atmosphere while playing GW2, Sea of Sorrows is a fantastic place to be.  And if you want more information you can always message the server leaders (or me, I'd be happy to chat ) to find out more about it.

True that, Sea of Sorrows is indeed a fantastic server to be on. Once you transfer there, you will realise it is actually Sea of Happiness.
