Necromancer (first toon leveled to 80, now retired):

Elementalist (second toon leveled to 80, now running it as my main):

Warrior (third toon leveled to 80, in active play)

Now I am leveling an Asuran guardian. Trouble with these little guys is that armor choice seems somewhat limited. It is challenging to find a mix that looks good on them.

with that said, i love seeing Asura Guardians and Warriors. not because i think the professions fit the race, but because i find it hilarious.

i disagree. Asuran guardians and warriors seem out of place. Norn and Sylvari thieves are pretty weird and don't seem to mesh with their culture, same with Sylvari engineers. a Charr mesmer is also kinda bizarre. the only race i could see being any class and not seeming out of place is human, but unfortunately i think human is one of the more boring races in the game. lol.
and i actually like the fact that not all races can be all classes in WoW. it makes each race feel more unique, as well as each faction. it's kinda hard for GW2 to do that with only five races, though.

I can see why you think humans are boring but Humans and Norns(females only my engineer will be male norn ) are the only race I can bring myself to play... lol

Wrong. Asuran's are very inclined to Necromancy. There's even a skill point challenge in the 1-15 zone.
Oola the lab genius. I am not in charge. Necromancy and Golemancy.
Remember?
If rolling Asura, make it a light class because the T3 looks really quite cool.

Yes, there was a whole thread dedicated to the topic, if I remember rightly.
I may be wrong, but I think the general consensus was, regardless of the skills Oola had in GW1 and regardless of what she was intended to be, her experiments were more akin to Necromancy as they involved the re-animation of dead things as opposed to the re-incarnation of spirits.

This is my asura guardian.
I feel like the mobile classes fit the best for asura since it feels like we run faster, jump higher, roll longer etc.
Also the asura t3 cultural armor is by far the coolest armor in the game for a guardian.

▲ Elementalists should be the obvious choice though. Everything that an Asura creates is made with that magic.
Let's say that while the charr dabble with the scientific method of creating sturdy machinery and heavy siege weapons,
the asura have achieved a level of knowledge that makes their science look like magic to the other races.
This means that in a group of human, sylvari, charr, norn and asura elementalists, the asura looks like a scientist surrounded by smelly witches. They understand this craft better then anyone.Edited by Rhododendron, 06 January 2013 - 09:07 PM.

Asura are above all magically inclined. The engineer is not. All of it's gear is incredibly steampunk and seems to be Charr made. While it is true that Asuras love technology, they seem to like magitech. Sometimes when I use turrets (for god knows what reason) or other crude machinery as my Asura, I feel like she's some dumb failed wannabe. It misses the Asuran magic bling bling you know. (which means I'm following Rhododendron i guess
That's why I insist on using the golem elites and radiation field
Personally I think Elementalist and Necromancer are the best fitting ones, while Ranger is most likely the least fitting one.

1) Engineer (despite the more Charr-like steampunk style)
2) Elementalist
3) Necromancer
4) Mesmer
The other professions don't qualify in my book.

I personally dislike engineer for asura, the turrets seem somewhat crude compared to the stuff they normally produce.
But I think that all races can find a way to suit any profession, personally.

I mean, that could be a force field, right?

Mesmers, Necromancers and Elementalists.
Engineers are the furthest away from Asura you can get, due to their reliance on gears, working parts and other frivolous things that could be easily solved by the use of magic. An Asura Engineer is a contradiction, most Asura are way smarter than that.

1) Guardian
2) Necromancer
3) Elementalist
4-5) Mesmer and Engineer
6-7-8) Ranger, Thief, Warrior
