I was hoping someone might be able to direct me to a somewhat recent poll or source of info on profession popularity/prevalence, since I find it interesting, and know many others do as well.

When the number of people gets too small you cannot make any decent statistical data, so don't hold your breath for any new statistics.

Buddy percentages work regardless of the people playing, you know that right?

I think you're misunderstanding the nature of this statistic... this isn't about a sample size being to small for the statistic to accurately reflect a phenomena. This is a statistic to show the division of the total player population. Number of people doesn't really matter.

The larger the testing group the better one can determine which race or whatever has preference.

Nope, not necessary when you have the raw data and aren't taking a sample.

You proved that you have no grasp of statistics based on your posts, well done! Thanks for derailing the thread at the same time <3

If 2 people play human and 1 charr, you can accurately say that 66% of the population play humans and 33% charr. You can not derive from that the preference another, bigger sample size would have, but that really is not the question here, since we are actually looking at the population for once.

I think so too. And alot more guardians as most people have found out that they're very handy in dungeons and are rather easy to level.

They should also multiply the number of each class with the level of the character, not just simply count as I'm sure a lot of people have made characters just for storage or have abandoned levelling them because they didn't live up to their expectations. Fiftly lvl 80 warriors isn't the same as fifty lvl 10 engineers. Or only count lvl 80 characters.

How would this be calculated?

Is this a 'recently played profession' or 'number of professions that exist' (characters in total)?
