Guildcast Episode 57

Gamebreaker TV just posted the latest Guildcast episode.  It contains some Guild Wars 2 information, including hints and information about the next content update for January.  Arenanet states that it is "not quite a Guild wars 2 expansion," but that it feels like one.  You can check it out on the gamebreaker website.

Didnt they said that we would get an update with an expansion worth of content..?

Not quiet, and I cautioned this in another thread that was getting excited about that.
Within context, they were trying to express that it would be a lot of content, making the comparison to an expansion and giving a more accurate idea in stating that the upcoming patches would be bigger then all the previous patches combine. (jan/feb-ish patch > oct + nov + dec patches)

Is there a transcript for this cast some place?  For some reason I find the presentation to be intolerable.

Or is it just commentary on already known information?

Well they did definitely say it would be content almost equal to an expansion, like word for word. You can't just deny that, HOWEVER no one should have actually been expecting a free expansion, that's just ridiculous. I think most people are just expecting a whole bunch of littler stuff, kind of like what the Halloween/Wintersday events had. I do have one concern: by new region, do they mean new maps, or huge new areas that aren't even on the map? If they're not even gonna add another map, I don't see how it can be close to an expansion.

They were speaking in terms of volume of the update, not actual content of the update. Unfortunately people didn't seem to understand this, hence the need for clarification by Colin.

Excuse me, but that's just bullcrap. The exact words were "An expansions worth of content", of course this was in reference to both the January and February updates together.

Not that I actually thought it would really be an expansions worth of content. I realized it was just PR bullshit the moment I read it. But lets be clear about what they actually said. They dug this hole, let them get themselves out of it. There will be a shitstorm about the amount of content. Maybe in the future they will let their PR department look over their statements before making them.
