All ANet has ever stated about WvW is that they were not going to try to balance it.

  In other words, it's working as intended.

  The bottom line is you can't balance it. EVERY server has enough players to fill the maps....so it boils down to how much the general population wants to participate.

  ANet has no control over that.

I leave reset to the professionals. If you're not quick on the draw at 6:58, you wait. And wait. And wait. No matter what server you're on.

I'm excited for reset, but not for the actual reset, for the week ahead. I have the week off. I will be in Florida playing GW2 by the pool with a drink. Can't wait to type "brb swimming".

Of course, I won't be wasting my whole sunny day real estate vacation playing an online game, but when I do I will be warmer than I usually am in February.

This is going to be like that scene in Silence of the Lambs when the girl looks up from the bottom of the well and sees the bloody fingernails stuck in the wall, and screams knowing someone else was down there and tried to get out by clawing up the walls until their nails ripped off....

What I'm looking forward to is keeping the score really close.  Hopefully beating JQ by just a little bit.  Then with the reset ratings, JQ and SoS will both drop down to Tier 4 and we can watch the pure unadulterated horror of the poor schlubs that get seated with us.

good suggestions but all people do when my power necro dots them is laugh

i do do my best to avoid the zerg.i even have a system when my fps starts to drop i run the other way but once i start getting lag i think im still running but im really dead.i did find another solution and that is to just play a bl instead.

The week after next the BiG4 will be separated for awhile as some of the lower tier servers will retain their blowouts against dead servers. Either way you are correct, in that whatever Tier the BiG4 go into the opposition will be feeling the hurt.

Actually your matchup will likely get you guys into T1 right off the bat in week 2.  Week 2 will likely be BG, Kaineng, and EB for T1 so that will be an interesting one.

My biggest advice to SoR would be, in the event that they suddenly find themselves not being pushed, the last thing you should do is throw yourselves at pangloss! Such an act could very well make your beloved map end up like this.




I know pangloss is such a tempting target, and leaving it alone for any period of time will quickly result in tier 3 everything in the north, but don't do it.

Well this was the most one sided tier 1 match up since HoD collapsed. Congratulations on the win anyway Jade Quarry, especially those that actually worked to earn it.

- It was great to finally fight you guys Blackgate, you came into tier 1 with not just fierce determination but also organization, you certainly freshened it up and gave us some brilliant fights and one of the best opening weekends I've ever seen in this game.

- Welcome to tier 1 Sanctum Of Rall! It's been a long time no see! Many people on Sea of Sorrows have missed playing against you guys! You gave us some great fights in tier 2 and to be honest your fights were at a higher level than what SBI and JQ gave us when we first entered tier 1. Jade Quarry has really stepped it up though, even before they decided to stack themselves. Sea of Sorrows is still mostly the same server that you saw when we were in tier 2, however Jade Quarry now has the strongest 24/7 coverage seen in this game since the Titan Alliance made HoD popular. My advice is, if you want to play for first, you know who to hit

And finally to my beloved Sea of Sorrows, don't despair! We can only fight with the hand we're dealt with, we'll be working on improving our organization with what we have as best we can and we'll never give up! Don't be discouraged by JQ's numbers or the score, wiping them over and over for bags is what WvW is all about! And who knows, if JQ were to implode out of boredom we may even win it!

With reset a few hours away, victory surely has been assured for Jade Quarry. Well fought warrior's of JQ - the steel was always there and once we got even numbers against SoS - only dead bodies of our enemies and bags of loot remained on the battlefield. Well done!

People of Blackgate you fought well in this match. I remember when you first came to tier 1 you guys used to have less and less numbers on the battlefield as the match progressed, but not anymore. You have improved a lot since those days and your server makes great use of small teams. If you had the same coverage as Sea of Sorrows I am sure you would have been fighting for 1st place till the last hour.

People of Sea of Sorrows, the tide has turned. The massive numbers advantage you had over other servers is gone. Now the other servers too can fill their maps like you do. It remains to be seen whether you have a backbone or not - everyone plays when they are winning - lets see now when the battle is even. With other servers also able to finally field 50 to 60 players per map - I am sure you will have to change your tactics now. But you do have a unique advantage over other servers. Which JQ and Blackgate have massive PvE population, your server's major chunk of population is hardcore WvWvW. It is up to you to re-train your zerglings into tactical warriors.

Upcoming Tier 1 servers I welcome you. I hope you will aim high as anything is possible in life with change being the only constant. No server remains #1 forever and who knows your chance to be #1 may come sooner than you expect. Guilds quitting game, people switching to other games, weak ones making excuses for not showing up etc all have a direct impact on WvWVW and can change the result of battle. My advice to you will be always invest in your community - in a sincere way (and not as a PR stunt). When your community is strong and close knit - mighty feats become attainable. Stay strong and keep glory whores at bay.
