What is Know your Gurus, you may ask?

It's simple, every 3/4 days, a different person will be in the spotlight. When that person is in the spotlight, you can ask them

ANYTHING YOU WANT, even non-gaming questions!*

Spoiler

After that person's turn, their KYG thread will be locked and a new one will be started, with a different person. That means that if you don't get to ask your question in the 3/4 days the member is in the spotlight, you'll have to....... well, find some other way to ask them.

What's the point of this segment, you may wonder? To put it simply, to get to know each other better. Feel free to ask crazy or unusual questions. Heck, ask complete nonsense questions (Why did the brick build a cheeseburger?) if you want, just to see their response.

Please note that just because you ask a question, it doesn't mean that the person in the spotlight has to answer it, but they DO need to reply to it, so expect something, even if it's just a "I will not answer that". Despite this restriction,

you can ask as many questions as you want, but try to keep them in only one post.

Keep in mind that others have questions to ask too, so don't go too overboard on the number. Keeping it short of a dozen is just common politeness.

Also important, you may not get into discussions with other members than the spotlight member. This segment is only to get whoever is in the spotlight to be more well know. If you're wanting to ask someone else something, you'll either have to wait for their own spotlight, or ask some other way.

FINAL 3 Upcoming members spotlights:

(For ease of referencing, Members are black, Mods are blue, S-Mods are green, and Admins are red.)

(Jan16th or 17th) Archaes

(Jan 20th or 21st) Soki

(Jan 24th or 25th) HawkofStorms

Work. Couldn't get to sleep so I am staying up a bit. Have a big day tomorrow as the big boss man gets back from Liberia and we have a bunch to do this week. Need to check if a quote made it back to me, go see the fire marshal, contact the EPA, too much.

That my left pinkie toe seems to be going to sleep.

No. I typically write the individuals off as illiterate and assume they can't read what I am writing so as they are not worth my time. I don't really notice them.

4. I would be the 4th Feathermoore. Picked the original GW up with IRL friends and we ended up making characters with all the same last name. Name was spur of the moment sparked by the feather on the ranger starter armor in character creation.

I did know this, though I have never used a conset. My playtime in GW dropped off soon after I completed EotN due to a huge increase in time needed for college.

I do now. I have water in mine. Jelly?

I used to collect leaf pressings seems like we are even.

I got a pen from my boss for Christmas this year. You know you are a big kid when your employer gives you an engraved pen that comes in a satin box as a gift.

My roommate's letter opener is named Excalibur so I can't use that name. At the moment I am referring to it as "The Pen of Omens" but I am open to suggestions.

I always have the temptation to name things something Britishly pedestrian (or at least to my American eyes) like Harold. Oh, and a dog named Quotient. But a pen? I'd name it Oscar. As in Oscar Wilde. Or some such other fantastic Lord of the English language.

Do you own a featherduster?
Nay. My girlfriend does. Oh My.

Do you play or watch cricket?
I used to play cricket with a bunch of people in my old apartment complex. That's more than most Americans can say I would expect

Follow any sports?
I recently graduated from NCSU and grew up following the ACC. So college basketball. I follow college football to a degree but I don't know anything about the history of a school or player in that area. I also go through bouts of hockey watching.

Do you sing or play any musical instruments?
I sang, play bass guitar, played the drums, fiddled around with drums, failed at the harmonica, and rock out with a kazoo. I was in a band in high school for 3 years. We were awesome (aka we sucked but had a blast).

What kind of music do you watch?
The only music I have ever "watched" was electronic. But I listen to almost everything excluding R&B, Hip Hop, and Country. Odly I am a fan of blue grass.

Whats your favorite movie?
Hard question for me. I spend way too much time watching movies and fiddle around with writing screenplays. The first movie that ever hit that status was The Empire Strikes Back, but movies such as Gataca, Strangers on a Train, Black Swan, Memento, and Trolls 2 have since hit that list as well.

Favorite actor/actress?
Natalie Portman. Clooney, Pitt, and Connery ring in here but I want to just say Cillian Murphy because I know noone else will and I think he rocks.

Sylvester Stallone or Arnie?
Demolition Man please.

Rambo or Harry Potter?
I would like to toss them both to Charybdis.

What made you want to be a mod?
They asked me to so I said sure. I have been active in gaming communities/clans/guilds in the past and oddly enough wanted to be a community manager at some point. I never really pursued that desire as I live in the wrong area but I still think it would be something I would love.

He is a member of the Midnight Society from "Are you afraid of the Dark"

No clue, I hate the quaggans. (totally going to piss people off with that)

if you were to describe me using 3 words, which 3 would they be?
What is this?

if you can choose one actor to play you in your biographical movie, who would it be?
Biographical movie would mean someone else wrote it. Which would mean it would be completely wrong. But I will go with Clint Eastwood because I think it would be hilarious to see a crotchety old western man play a young, vibrant, sexy environmental engineering with a penchant for video games.

do you play gw2??
I do, much less than I had originally thought I would during early development. The direction Anet chose to go with lost my interest in the supposed "originality" a long time ago. That means I wasn't disillusioned when the game came out as it was exactly what I expected, just not what I thought it could have been. I play because I love the world and I have a strong group of friends I met in the original that I still play with to this day. I was addicted to PvP in the original. I haven't touched it in 2.

Enough incomplete pieces to equal about 5 or 6 I would say. I never liked any of them enough to truly work all the way through them. I spend more time writing short stories, though I really don't finish many of those either.

I started writing in high school. I have always been a big reader and have been heavy into art, was part of multiple Odyssey of the MInd and Battle of the Books teams and took every art class offered at my school. During school a class I was taking about logical reasoning and mystery novels decided to make a movie. I did a lot of work with a few others working on the script for that and made my film debut as the village idiot. My senior capstone project was a series of short stories focusing on exploring character development in a realistic horror setting.

My favorite part really has little to do with the writing though oddly enough. I am a world builder at heart. I love coming up with a situation/location and completely fleshing it out. Coming up with political systems, how they would have come about, how language might have changed, even developing the physical way the world works. My favorite was a binary moon system of a gas giant. The main moon of focus was much like Europa except that the combination of the binary moon and planet keeps the entire moon warm enough that the oceans never freeze. Instead, a thick crust of salts effectively floats on the ocean (doesn't actually float as there are areas of bedrock that the salt shelf is attached to) with massive earthquakes being caused by the ocean tides underneath the crust. The story I came up with was trite and boring, but the moon (and the cultural/geopolitical impacts it created) was what got me excited.

Basically my ADHD is way too pronounced to stick with any one project. I can't even stick with one "art form" as I have hopped from music, to painting, to writing, to ceramics, to photography, to screenplays, to acting, to glassblowing and I sort of go around in a circle in that pattern.

If I was a woodchuck I would chuck as much wood as I could chuck if I was a woodchuck that could chuck wood.

Tongue twisters are easy.
