Finally! after some time farming while playing in a casual manner I have managed to acquire the best looking armor set for my lvl 80 Guardian main.
I still have lots of content and stuff to do in pve but I cant be bothered atm.... I want to do some sPvP.

Problem is the starter PvP gear looks absolute crap.. not only that BUT even the best looking PvP gear wont be as good looking as my PvE set from my pov.
So pls Anet, let us transmute PvP to PvE items skin wise! either this or make PvP versions of all the PvE armors!

What do you guys think?

There ARE PvP versions of all the PvE armors. Preview the possibilities in your pvp locker.

You just have to grind PvP rank to access them.

You can get the same sets in sPvP as in PvE.

And no, it'd be a bad idea to allow people to use their PvE skins in sPvP.

ALL of them are in sPvP. You can preview all of them in the PvP locker in Heart of the Mists.

In GW1 you could bring your pve characters into PvP. You can in GW2 but he gets starter armor again. I think it would be nicer if we could use our PvE armor in PvP. A better solution though would be actually fixing the GW2 reward system. I don't like the random chest rewards (what is Anet's obsession with this random rewards crap?). Instead they should use a similar system they had in GW1 with tournament reward points.

Have basic skins costing a certain amount of pvp currency, then be required to unlock say (for example) 5 or 10 of these skins to move on to the next tier. You could have 4 or 5 tiers, gradually getting more rare until you can finally unlock the last tier of gear. Would give me more incentive to pvp instead of getting light armors and daggers on my guardian.

Got to admit I really miss bringing my PvE armor in PvP like in GW1. PvP -- well Halls anyway -- gave PvE rewards that can be turned into PvE currency (or even used in PvE). In GW1 I was PvP focused, but in GW2 PvP is lacking rewards so I stick to PvE. Glad ArenaNet is going overhaul the reward system.

NO. PvP Masquerade Armor (light) and PvP Rubric Armor (light) are UNAVAILABLE in PVE. You can get the chestpiece of Rubric as a personal story reward, but the PvE Equivalent Masquerade armor is a completely different skin from the PvP version. Check them out in the locker, then open up TP and check the skins. Totally different. Bug, intended, idk. But it means Light classes have two fewer armor sets than the rest. Not cool!

They can have different names.
Actually MOST armor sets have different names between PvE and sPvP

Luckily, I mostly play the adventurers in PvP and those guy start with one of my absolutely favourite armour in the game: so even after obtaining additional skins, I simply sent them to storage and I keep using the guild coat. So on this level, I am not really bothered by the system.
What does bother me though is that PvP has absolutely shit rewards: I'd rather do a few CoF runs over some PvP because at least that way I feel like I achieved something. At least in GW1 I could trade the keys for gold.

It does not exist in PvE. Nobody can find it, anywhere. You will neither never see anyone wearing it because, oh, it does not exist in PvE

I have never said that they do exist, I simply commented on the faulty way of finding the armor in PvE since it is quite usual for the PvE and PvP armor with the same look to have different names.

Let's not. I'm all for being able to transmute the special skins to pvp skins, but anything more is a big nope. Keep pvp and pve rewards separate, if you want nice looking armor in pve, get the armor. If you want nice looking armor in pvp, get the armor.

lets not eh? I dont' want to see every tom dick and harry running around in CoF gear cos they farmed it in pve - you have to work harder for it in pvp. Similar for other popular skins.

PvP and PvE need to be as separate as possible.
