Lets imagine sometime in the future, ArenaNet creates a competition that allows you to submit designs for a Guild Hall, based on themes and architecture that currently exist within the game. My question to you all, is what would you choose?

Those that played GW, no doubt have fond memories of their old Guild Halls, that little private sanctuary for you and your friends to relax in. For me, I'd go for some sort of grand, gothic styled keep, reminiscent of the Ascalonian Catacombs, or maybe a pirate ship docked off the coast of Kryta. :D

What about you?

One of the finer manors in Divinity Reach. I prefer the tavern style guild hall. Less cold stone, more whiskey.

Every answer besides the Death Star is wrong. Side note: My guild has a strict no Bothans rule.

For actual locations and places in Tyria, I'd want the Wizard's Tower, or something like it.

Why not a nice mead hall. Telling stories of legends, while listening to the bards, a great place for a guild I think. Or why not going Lion's Arch style, and rebuild a shipwreck into somehting more useful? An asuran lab would be another idea, if you prefer to call your guild "krewe".

I loved the Wizards Isle and the Imperial Isle from GW1 if anyone remembers what those looked like. Thats what I would want.

Wizards Isle- was a castle fort type thing sitting at the edge of these really great looking fields with a village and houses, farms, rivers and what not.   Looked a bit like queensdale.

Imperial Isle- was a magnificent Palace made of this maroon and gold, marble type stone with a huge courtyard and even bigger pillars. Pretty cool.

I would love a Wizard's Tower, Warrior's Castle, Ranger's Woods, Guardian's Healing Springs, Necro's Undeadland, Mesmer's Mirror House, Engineer's Workstation, Thieve's Guildhall.

I think it would be awesome to be able to have options, maybe even have certain requirements for specific looks like "must have X number of Asura in the guild in order to 'unlock' the Asuran Lab guild hall".  Easy enough requirement, but would be interesting then to have different titles of the guild and the guild hall partially dependent on the races involved in the guild.

Besides that option, a mead hall would be pretty cool.  The coolest guild hall that I think would be possible would be something styled after The Last Homely House, Weathertop or Minas Tirith in LoTR.  Those would be particularly epic. :)

I want the old imperial isle back. Something about that map as a guild hall and a gvg map to me was great.

It's been said a few times already, but I'd like something akin to a mead hall.

I think the one from the animated "Beowulf" nailed it.

Albion mansion from DAoC.

Complete with guild banners in and out, ability to size furniture, landscaping, tapestries, oil paintings, shield & weapon displays on the walls,  bank chests, hearth stone,  and oh most importantly, a kilt-clad-boxer-shorts-with-hearts bartender behind the bar. Cheers.

Tropic isle with quaggans! (Would be awesome to play hide and seek with guildies like we did in gw1, but then underwater instead). Or something that looks Canthadojo-like... or an airship.

I was a big fan of the Isle of Meditation guild hall as well. It had everything, waterfall, beach, a boat, fire breathing lions, even a pet turtle. But the best thing about it, easy access to NPCs. You didnt have to run across the map if you wanted to do more than one thing.

As far as theme goes, a guild hall modeled after each racial city/starter zone and LA would be a good start. I'm also thinking large scale. At least the size of a larger area in a zone. Complete with jumping puzzle and vista. And a place to swim, just because. I want a place big enough to play hide and go seek. One thing Anet does really well is design landscape, guild halls should showcase that talent.

Features should include Bank, TP, Crafting Stations, Merchant, and Repair NPCs. Mini games that earn your guild influence, would also be a cool thing to have. It would be the perfect place to finally add the bar brawl. They could also do alot with environmental weapons. They could have something like snowball fights but more like laser tag. Basically, give us something to do when we are totally bored of everything else, but still want to do something fun as a guild.

There are literally tons of designs can be made from the Lore, just look in game, we can easily find 10+ types of halls/chambers/caves for each race from the game, then we have more races not implemented yet.

Then you can add lots more with half water or on high cliffs, the imagination is the limit.

I would love a norns brewery

I'd prefer a combination of these two.  A basic Hall design, that can be customized by set achievements or unlocks.  While Anet makes beautiful environments, for guild halls, I'd prefer personalization over a handful of static set pieces.

Mead hall, without even being able to sit on chairs?? -_-

Why have guild halls the same way as in GW? I'd like ANet to add "guild hall instances" to existing towns and architecture. In that case I'd like to have a guild hall in Ebonhawke Stronghold.

Anyone remember that episode of The Guild when they had to pick a design for their hall?  Something like Clara and Tink's design would be amusing.  It would go well with the unicorn bow my ranger will own someday!  ;)

Joking aside... the Canthan themed halls were my favorite in GW1.  Seeing something like that in GW2 eventually would be pretty sweet.

I'd like either:

A. Something styled after Lion's Arch.

B. Something akin to Destiny's Reach

C. A Rata Sum inspired design.

However, sadly, I don't expect to see any movement on guild halls for a very long time.

I'd like it to be a ship. There could even be many different and customizable vessels... Galleys, freighters, luxury vessels... Additionally some could have cannons, flamethrowers, as well as grappling hooks and boarding ramps - allowing for GvG naval battles.

A sylvari / grove inspired instance with the main body of the guild hall inside a giant hollow tree or plant. There can be walkways to other platforms amongst the branches with guild NPCs on them.
Either that or a platform section on a large lake with some guild NPCs on it (similar to Esgaroth in The Hobbit) and at the bottom of it a waterproof underwater base with asura-style architecture. The lake should definitely have some awesome fish in it as well :D
