I've heard people claim they salvaged more than 3 (4 or 5) ectos from an exotic item. Is this possible? If not, was it ever possible?

Rares above level 68 have a chance to salvage into 1-3 ectos.

Exotics above level 68 have a chance to salvage into 1-5 ectos.

Yes, that is what i've heard. Salvaged quite a lot of exotic level 70+ armor that I've used and the best i got was still 3 ectos.

But I'm interested to know if someone actually happened to get more than 3 and the 0-5 is not just some wrong wiki info.

I've rarely gotten 5 ectos when salvaging exotics using a Black Lion Salvage Kit. I've yet to get over 4 using a regular Master Salvage Kit.

from exotics I've salvaged, I've gotten 4 ectos twice and 5 ectos once.  all 3 were level 80 armors that I was mainly salvaging for the rune at the time.
