I dont think small guilds are locked out and besides that we wont know till it goes live or more details are given. Jumping to conclusions is allways bad. WvW is pvp with some pve elements in it for giving small groups something to do i guess while waiting for more or while traveling the map. If you dont like the pve part in there nobody is forcing you to do the pve part. But some might like it.

Hence, potentially. I'd love to hear more info though. ^^
As for WvW - I don't mind the PvE in it. My problem with it is that they are tying WvW to servers, while I would prefer if they would separate the two and threat WvW as a PvP mode. Create a temporary battlefield (make the battles last for a few hours), allow folks to enter and once the map is filled, create a new battlefield. Basically hot-join Structured on a larger scale, with more PvE elements. That way WvW population isn't dependent on server populations, but is rather dependent on the game population.

Agreed. Aion, Rift, SWTOR. All of them have promised so much but very little of their 'State of the game' 'On the horizon' 'Things coming in the next 3/6/12 month' posts.

The only thing keeping me playing at the moment is the fact there is no monthly sub.

About the Guild Missions - could be me, but since they mentioned time constraint and such things - could it be they are thinking about creating challenging Speedruns/DPS races to those?

Not quite sure what direction they're heading with that, would be fun, I suppose!

Just in case I missed something - but did they say anything about better drops from mobs or dungeons end chests? Anything about more ways of getting certain materials (T6 or lodestones comes in mind)? Anything about no more RNG or DR? Anything about getting cash a little easier for those who actually just wanna play the game and stop the mindless farming on certain areas / dungeons (as in stop running same dungeon over and over again just because it's easy and gives you nice cash - nice cash as reward, not end chest drops)?

Actually almost everyone that got his legendary is doing it via jumping puzzles.
If I would focus on it, I could get my 500 badges in 2 days with jumping puzzles with playing 8h/day.
This weekend I did my monthly 50 kills, took 3h and got 11 badges...

Since Colin has pretty much been the poster boy for GW2's PR, and we know how well they delivered on that manifesto thing, more of the same buggy half baked stuff mixed with the same old vaporware.

Should they remove rewards from dungeons or drops from mobs because of that? Maybe ANet doesn't yet know that playing the game isn't rewarding, while playing the TP is.

The only way they couldn't known that, is if they aren't playing their own game or/and listening to the feedback.

Well, here's my vote for removing all rewards world wide, since playing the TP is obviously better than doing anything else in game - and it's normal too. That should be in the next update.

  • My stupid comment was just a comment on his stupid comment about not leaving LA for TP, you can already leave LA because of other TP merchants over the world.
    Yeah I know it's lame, forgive me, I'm in middle of finals right now.. :P
  • It is more efficient for some people, for those people to make a profit, other people have to earn the gold first.

I might be getting old and senile in some distant future, but until then: Didn't they promise server transfers to be available to everyone and free of any kind of charge with only minor time limitations?

They have never said that.
Server transfers were always meant to have a cooldown and a cost, but they have put that cost on hold until they are ready with Guesting (which is more or less sever-transfer but no access to WvW)

The free server transfers will end on January 28th at which time they are also adding Guesting.

Hmmm dunnou what to make of this blogpost.
It sounds very vague to me on what they really are adding.
It sounded like fixing and polishing the game which is great though as the game still is too rough on the edges and feels unfinished.

We are talking about Explorable, and clearly you must ignore every single drop in the whole dungeon including from chests.

They have added additional drops to most bosses in most dungeons, including a bag of coins which give quite a few money each, they have also increased the drop rate of rare/exotic items and such, all which can be either sold (rare for around 20s each and exotics for about 1g+) or salvaged for ectos which can sell for quiet a bit aswell.

They have?  I'm not seeing it.

I hate running regular dungeons now.  I count myself lucky if I come away with a single rare in 3 runs.  They must've upped the chance by 0.01%.  I still run CoE regularly for a chance at charged cores & lodestones, I don't know why I persist as I only get cores to drop once a blue moon as well.  For the time I put in, it just doesn't seem worth it.
