Before you scream "OMG MANIP" hear me out.

I'm not sure how many of you follow the GW2 page on Facebook - if you do you have likely already seen this.

This is coming "in the months ahead" ...

Posted Image

As you can see you can buy 10 Unid Dyes for 5 of a new currency. It hasn't been fully explained, but this new currency is something like "daily tokens", i.e. you get tokens when you complete your daily achievements. Be this 1 token for a complete achievement, per achievement tier, or just 1 per day is yet to be seen.

I know they said its "in the months ahead" but to be able to supply this screenshot means they already have worked a good chunk towards this.

Just a heads up

10 unidenfied dyes every 5 day?
I get more than that by simply playing the game most weeks.

Like I say, it hasn't been said how you actually get them. I see you're taking it as you get 1 token per time you 100% your daily, but I see it as every achievement you complete (that would mean 4 per day). They (AN) also said they're increasing the number of daily achievements to 6, from 4, but you still only have to do 4 to get your chest. This would mean 6 tokens per day.

I can't see it being economy breaking, but it'll affect it.

Nope, what seems to be the plan is for 1 token per daily you complete and 10 for each monthly.
That means 1 token per day IF you do all 4. Not 1 per part.

Can you link me the part where this is said? I may have skipped over it.

Just want to quickly point out to get out ahead of it since those numbers are wildly off. You receive 1 crown per daily, and 10 per monthly. (We’re also still tweaking the costs of the items shown in the screen shot, and will continue to adjust them until until the system is released.)

Another Rare set gear :(

And dyes won't drop that much, since they'll prolly be account bound (like in pvp)

The numbers in that screen shot aren't necessarily final, especially if its a couple months away, they could easily be changed.
They might even adapt a format where you get 10 per daily, +- some depending on what parts of the daily you did, and have all the costs changed completely. Purely speculative of course, I'm just saying these numbers might not stick. These dyes might end up a lot more expensive (or cheap).

I would laugh so very hard if they added Unindentified Dyes to a vendor but then remove them as random drops.

That would surely bright the day for those expecting a crash in prices.

this is a bit off topic but not a whole lot do you traders recommend selling the unidentified dyes as is or take the chance and consuming them and maybe getting a better dye?

It's a gamble.  You could take the chance to get a rare dye, or sell it for some guaranteed profit.  Personally I sell my dyes, because you can easily buy the dye you want on the TP without wasting the silver that you could be getting from the unidentified dyes.

And topic related, I am curious to see how to acquire these new tokens.  IF they are easy to get, then unidentified dye prices will drop.

I don't think it would affect it too much. Slightly sure, but nothing major. I would think once people have the mini's/tonic/gear they would just use it on shards. Side note I'm really excited for new minis and hope the gear looks good.

They don't have to flood the market with a new method to gain dyes affecting prices, the fact players will have another avenue to pursue dyes may likely affect the demand, thus reducing prices.

However, I just don't see a reason to rush to sell.  Maybe if you are an unidentified dye hoarder.

Strangely, the unided dye market has been going steadily up for the last month.

I thought this. I sold the few I had when I saw the update (for about 14s each) and Im finding it so incredibly strange that they are actually going up.

That said, T6 materials & Ectos are really going up aswell. So I'll put it down to people wanting Bifrost stocking up for Scavenger Hunt.

players don't buy dyes for this new tokens... prefer take different items, dyes go up each day.
each day i take from gatering / mobs more than 3 / 5 dyes.....
and if i take new tokens i prefer buy new items no the DYES lol....

and rememer this token are account bound = items account bound or solbound
dyes = account bound equal pvp dyes. are only for you.

if you have sold dyes  i'm only happy . because  i reselling dyes and i make more moneys.

Thx again Posted Image Xephenon ;)
