Personally i think Gw2 lacks a lot of Majesty and elegance in al the armor categories.

I would love to see Anet implement some new rad armors with the new ascended armors.

Something in this lines.

Maybe not that extreme but pretty much.

Your thoughts?

I only see one dress out of four outfits, so I support this.

Aion wasn't a perfect MMO for sure, especially in NA, but one thing NCsoft did always have right was art design.  All of Aion's endgame weapons and armor were pretty dang cool looking.  The Anuhart sets were some of my favorites.

For that matter, I'd like more options with helmets...If you're a heavy class in this game you're basically stuck wearing either a huge chunk of metal covering your entire head, or nothing at all.  Hats actually had no class restrictions on Aion unless it was specifically for one class.  You could even take a cloth hat and remodel it onto a plate helmet.

Some middle ground would be nice, is all.

To the image that you posted Korra, there are already some armors in the game that look fairly similar and have the same level of elegance, though that elegance is pretty restricted to humanoid females. But in general some medium armor that doesn't make me look like a ninja or have a buttcape. Light armor that makes males look just as slutty as the female counterpart. Heavy armor with a cape.

Now getting armor based off of the Human Gods would actually make me want to run god temples! And for Kormir armor you could run Fractals. Oh this is a good idea indeed.

Three Rules for designing ascended armor:

Absolutely No Trenchcoats
Absolutely No Buttcapes
Absolutely No Ginormous Skirts

Only armor designs that pass those 3 rules may then be considered as possible candidates for ascended armor.

Hmm refer to the ascended weapon skins from FOTM (aka fractal weapons). I have a bad feeling ._.

Non-existing.

Having said that, the FoW-approach to vanity items is bullshit. Different people have different tastes. Now, while I feel that my fashion choices are superior, I don't mind humouring the poor *ers who want to look like shit. Expensive shit, but shit none-the-less. :P
So, what I'd suggest is multiple skins for each stat, catering to a wide variety of tastes.

I would like to see more armor that is tailored toward really exemplifying each profession. If ascended stuff is the way we end up getting that then so be it, but I just want it in the game.

If I recall correctly, at one point in time before the game came out, the medium Arah armor was shown off in some kind of Necromancer capacity. Now of course Necromancers wear light armor, so we cannot have this armor that seems explicitly designed for us.

I came over myself just thinking how cool would it be to have god based armors for humans.

A-net most definitely needs to make the high end armors look more like the Aion ones:

Any non-spiky female armours not ridiculously emphasizing breasts or showing undies would be very welcome!!

It's getting really annoying sometimes as a lot of male versions look gorgeous but we get the bikini version or with big silly looking colourerd breast circles. So I'm sorry, I don't share most of above posted ideas. And helmets, couldn't care less about them as long as they make you bald.
The same set for both genders would be a good idea, as would be class specific armour.

Alas I don't believe we will get any (well perhaps more oversized trenchcoats).

THIS. We have so many trenchcoats for medium armor. It's boring. Give us something different!

The OP's idea for more elegant/majestic looking armor is solid. I support that.

I really like a lot of the armor in GW2 and especially some of the armor combinations I've seen people make, but I wouldn't say no to more epic armor :)

I need my necro to look dreadful like in that concept art, there's no way i'll dress him to be a fairy.

I'd like a few more armor sets in the game that I could bear to look at. Slim pickings at the moment. I dress my characters from the perspective of mitigating how terrible they look in their outfits, never from the perspective of "hot damn, that just looks awesome!" because there is no awesome.

Just gimme my fow armor back. Granted, I looked like a pinecone as a male warrior, but dammit, it was a fow pinecone.

It should look flexible, combat-ready, useful. No pimp-my-armor type of deal with underboobs, sideboobs, miniskirts, spiky stuff etc. Spiky armor would do more damage to the person wearing it, and his allies than to the enemy.

I think its kind of lame that in a game where the cosmetics are the endgame, those, are really freaking lame. Even T3 gets old really fast.

Im already tired of mine, and to be honest T3 is the only decent medium armor we have, and charr not even that.

We are not asking for flashy stuff or big shoulderplates, just something that feels like a high end armor.

We all can agree that if one thing AION  had was an extremly good armor variety (and extremly good looking for that matter)

I actually wouldn't mind seeing some Aion like armors, as long as they dont have massive shoulders. In GW2 I was fond of the Granite Citadel 15k ascended platemail armor, if it makes a comeback in GW2 with like a tabard/loincloth I would be pretty happy.

You can imagine how disappoint I was when I went to get the orr karma armor from the temples, thinking that they would have unique looks to each temple they came from...

I wanted to see ascended tier gear emphasize customizability in the arrangement of boosts.  Somehow, in the crafting/mystic forge mechanism, I want it to be possible to get all of those assortments that aren't covered by the standard Berseker, Cleric, Shaman, etc. sets.  There are 168 possible configurations that can be made from eight traits using the major-minor-minor assortment.  How many of those are represented now, between crafted gear, dungeon gear, etc?

The game already got a good customization system, but they really need to give us some new epic armor on a regular basis like 1 new set for each type (light/medium/heavy) during the monthly update.

Well ill tell you what will happend... they will take (AGAIN) the named armor and will just...place them in the fractals drop rate -.-

Anet is being loafer lately and examples for this: temples sould have armors the resembles the god itself, nowadays only baltazar temple has a heavy armor that looks like the god.. and lyssa one (i think).

I'd rather they increased the disconnect between stats/sets and had ascended armour work like the hom sets in reverse and be stats only. Then add in more skins throughout the game instead.

I'm also hoping they are at least planning ahead for the upgrades of these ascended items unlike the mess with back items. I dont want to transmute a skin to ascended item and find upgrades have to be done in the MF. We have this problem atm with the ascended back items if they are transmuted to say the engineers backpack.
