what do you think are the most active servers in terms of pve?
with things like a lot of people enough to constantly open up specific
areas and events like CS, balth, dungeons, overflows for fotm and the like.

The only bad thing (atm) is WvWvW. We had some good times but it seems as soon as we get a higher rank, we have a lot of trouble. XD Other than that it's a very nice server imo.

Jade Quarry server, Gendarran Fields map, a bunch of people started a conversation about how there weren't any people talking. Is that irony? They talked so much the people in my party turned mapchat off.
I agree with Astral projections. I'd like to add to it though.
You have to keep in mind that this is a game, on a computer and it's still an introvert haven. Gaming is a form of escapism where you try to immerse yourself in the game (like Oblivion or Skyrim) or go to a different place with people doing non-work related things. Sure we sometimes bitch about work, traffic or about how much our back hurts, but then we get back to beating up some boss or making gold.
Introverts don't tend to start conversations that much but if you get them talking, they'll talk your ears off. (beware of generalisations I may have made)

I moved one of my account back to my original server - Blackgate (because of the impending change). hopefully its good, if it is (or not , then meh), i'll move my other account there as well. unless there are reason i can't, like, I love my current guild! so helpful ! and good fun dungeon runs daily! and free stuffs! <3

you can look up what events are happening and what time it starts at the Gaiscioch.com site then click on the events link , events in Red lettering are GW2 events , all times posted are PST timezone .
They run everything from map completion , fractals , dungeon runs, crafting mat gathering events a diff zone every week. as well as WvWvW events also .
there`s something going on every day and everyone on the server is welcome to join . they use raidcall 5012 instead of vent .

I personally am on Isle of Janthir, and can usually find people to play with when I need to, depending on the zone.
In general though, I would suggest that you may not need to transfer servers at all. When paid server transfers come in, its is almost certain that the guesting feature will also go live. That means you should be able to play with people on other servers whenever you want anyway, and you can use gw2lfg.com to find groups pretty easily.

With guesting coming up, I might just hop into one of the more lively PvE servers and level my new alt there

Hmm yeah I think it's the same everywhere. I hardly even bother shouting in chat for my runs, and we run a lot. Just use the lfg site nowadays, quicker and easier

i remember owning Gandara hard, while my week spend at Piken square, those RP-players are hardcore, rofl. but now i'm back to Underworld.
anyhow OT; UW has a lot of individual players; read PUGs and because of that map chat is more flourishing compared to servers with big-tight-nit-guilds.
so come here, we are looking and scouting for new members for WvW.

The problem with switching servers is that all your guilds upgrades and influence would disappear and they will start from zero. This includes your personal guild, of course, affecting access to your personal guild stash.

I once used to do CoE 24/7 and never had much trouble finding a team. But the team "quality" was questionable every now and then. ^^

switching to a more pve active one before the 28th would be nice too tough.
being on a chatty server is one thing, and would prefer actual active numbers for events/
area openings / overflows. had experiences the past with not much 'chat', but
still with lots of people on the maps, so completing and activating specific events were not a
problem.

The low level areas are nearly always populated (outside of really odd play-times for a NA server, like 4am-6am), especially human and norn beginning areas. Only place I've had any real trouble finding groups is the mid-level Charr areas.
People seem friendly and there are usually people around helping others out with events, rezzing and the like. I'm happy with the server overall.

With gw2lfg.com the situation you describe is completely remedied. The less run stuff is found far more frequently than shouting LFG or LFM on any server.
The upcoming events being added to maps where less activity currently is may help, but thats a 2013 plan. Who knows when it will be implemented. I changed servers quite frequently for a time trying to find one with active players levelling on the 40-70 maps. It's about as dismal on a low pop server as it is on a full pop server.
Don't bother with trying to find that "magic" server. It's just not going to happen.

At what time do you play? There's so much map talk going on we have to turn it off. We're on at euro times

Ah I'm EST. Well when I lvl'd my two mains (which was during my holidays, so I played whenever I could during the whole day) - every PvE map had a good chunk of people because people where just getting the hang of things / or progressing for map completion. But now, on my third alt, I hardly run to anyone except for the peeps in Kessex Hills haha.
If it helps, my playtime is now after work which is somewhere between 7pm-11pm EST (min 1hr of which goes to WvW).

I've never done any dungeons yet, I have 4 level 80 characters and 4 more ranging from 12 to 63. I'd like to move to an active PVE server before the 28th but stay EU.
