Hello everyone!

I wanted to post to see if there were any others out there like me who enjoy creating outfits for their toons in GW2. I've always had an itch for aesthetics in RPGs. I like to give my characters some life and color. A lot of people simply like their avatar to represent the sum of all their achievements in game, and I get that. They deck them out in t3, then dye it a mixture of Abyss and Celestial, then swing around a legendary. But I don't feel like that always looks the best on the character.

I'd really like to see any other outfits people have made for their characters!

Here's some of mine:

If I may suggest, for those who are willing, state the gear that you are using when posting a screenie. This would be beneficial for those wanting to know a little more.

I'm still in the process of working out the 'final look' for one of my toons. Hopefully it'd be ready soon.

Hello there, Fancy Fool! Nice outfits that you created, though I must say I'm partial to the gray one. I know what you mean, I've seen some people just put on what seems to be a menagerie of the most expensive things they can find - regardless of whether or not it comes together or contributes to their character's flavor. Of course, it's a matter of opinion - perhaps all those things are just really what they prefer the look of the most. Whatever floats one's boat!

I've always loved to put outfits together in any MMO that lets me do so (e.g., GW1) and now I play GW2 with someone who likes to do the same - my husband. I would excitedly post some of my outfits here, but I've already posted some of them in other threads and people might get fed up with my redundancy.

Instead, I shall post some of them here in the form of friendly little spoiler-clickables:

1. Daelisse the Mesmer
Spoiler

2. Dhenev Stormreaver the Guardian
(and Kathos Stormreaver in the in-game screenies)
Spoiler

She has 2 dye schemes to go with her AC weapons
Daytime dye scheme in-game
Nighttime dye scheme in-game

3. Genaven the Ranger
My husband's toon, just one of the many dye schemes he's made for her.
Spoiler

Click them if you'd like, or if you got through enough of my blathering to get to this part of the post. Cheers! :D

Edit: Clarified my post.

Here's my Norn/Elementalist's final vanity appearance, made up of a miss-mash of different gear, I'll list the gear below...
  • Head - Oldgate Cloth Helm
  • Shoulders - Acolyte Mantle
  • Chest - Acolyte Coat
  • Hands - Flame Legion Gloves
  • Legs - Heritage Trousers (Pants for Americans)
  • Feet - Flame Legion Shoes

'I'm Squirrel' I think that armour on your Mesmer looks bloody awesome, also Fancy Fool has some good style as such :3 my personal favourite of theirs is the penultimate red outfit.

I really like the Ranger Ash. He has this rugged aesthetic going on with the dapper green coat. And there's something about the swashbuckler facial hair that goes right in with that saber. The gray one is actually my newest and I do like it :3 It's actually Olive Tint so I could get that darker gray on the other half of the skirt and blend with her skin better. It's cool because it really makes the gold/illumination/antique gold pop in game.

Hrmm. Squirrel. I like the outfit. The boots really depend on what kind of slope and size of foot you want to go with it. I'd try stately boots. I like them with the embroidered pants and they're easy to grab. As for the gloves, hrmm.. That's hard because you need something that meshes with the top and middle and flows from the shoulders. Something as long as that one, but that gets thinner closer to his hands. That said I really love the colors and wish my screenshots looked that sharp!

Mac, I like the idea of blending in the fire with something more common. Also. What do Norn men look like in the Vigil pants? :o
I have a variation of that red outfit I like too

Would you mind sharing the individual pieces used in these screenies? I especially like the first and the third outfit. Good job! :)

Yes, of course ^_^

Hehe. Maybe I'll show my other ones sometime. I didn't want to make the first post so clunky though:

The first is my favorite for her I think since it has so many patterns going on and the colors are just awesome for her. It also has this playful, but ready hedge-mage feel to it. I think it could go well with plenty of toons.

Head: Winged Hood
Shoulders: Acolyte Mantle (The crafted one, not the whites you get from armour vendor)
Chest: Priory Garb
Pants: Vigil Leggings (To get both make an alt, join desired faction. Buy armor on them. Buy cheap vendor armor. Transmute it on alt, bank it. Main can wear it. It will be account bound)
Gloves: Inquest Gloves (It has metal studs to match those on the Vigil leggings, but the gloves of this set don't matter much; they're mostly covered up)
Boots: Stately Boots (Karma gear from the 40ish areas I believe)

The third is fun too.. I love the inquest pants.

Head: Winged Hood
Shoulders: Vigil Mantle
Chest: Svanir Chest (HotW)
Pants: Inquest Pants (CoE)
Boots: Stately boots

You can see already several pieces can be used for multiple outfits :)

Since Xekk asked earlier I go ahead and put the gray one down as well:

Head: Inquest Hood (CoE)
Shoulders: Inquest Mantle (CoE)
Chest: Winged Chest
Pants: Order of Whispers Leggings
Boots: Inquest Boots (CoE)

@ToasterHD

Very sharp-looking and slender! Her illusions would look like the sharpened images they are Cool little diamond at the tummy area too. She looks aggressive even with all the skin showing, which can be hard. Reminds me of Elise from League of Legends, but without the creepy

Spoiler

Interesting choice to go with a green scheme. How did it look with the Winged Chest?

I also like creating outfits, though I must admit, I tend to use more expenisve ones. My main is a necro, so arah armor and dark colors really look awesome.

Spoiler

Second style (for my second build):
Spoiler

On my mesmer, I plan to get T3 armor, not to show off, but I'd like to have a sylvari look on one of my chars and there is only TA and cultural to chose from and T3 is the only I like, at least for some parts, maybe I can mix it with some other parts.

For now I really like that look:

That's actually not my Ranger post that you saw, though I'm sure the person who posted it would appreciate the compliments. Haha! Entirely my bad though, those links I posted previously led one to the page of my post and THEN scrolled down by itself after a moment to my actual post. Whoops!

I edited my post to clarify this. :D

The green colour scheme was actually inspired by the box art from the original Guild Wars featuring the mesmer. As far as the Winged Tunic, I feel like it awkwardly cuts between the clavicals and the bust. Both looking a bit off as well as not working well with the mantle. I very purposefully wanted to play around with the idea of showing a lot of skin, while making it appear as not for sex appeal but as a sign of confidence. It makes me very happy that you picked up on that :3

Thanks for this thread! I've been working my way towards a full t3 cultural set but seeing your OP has inspired me to craft a unique aesthetic set.

Cheers!

there is already a mix and match armor thread along with one for each profession.  not knocking what you've done, just don't see how this warrants a new thread.

Full gear:
Acolyte Mask
Heritage shoulders(light)
Order of Whisper's light chest armor
Embroidered Pants
Acolyte Gloves
Cabalist Boots

Dye:

Adding a couple of screenies here to share the look of my guardian, freshly leveled and finally kitted out (mostly anyway, when it comes to aesthetics):

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

I tried to get an 'ascended knight' (no, not 'ascended' as in a reference to a tier of gear which I dislike, but for appearance) look with this toon.

Helm: undecided. I considered the one from the Asuran T3 set but still prefer to show the face.
Pauldrons: transmuted starter Guardian Fanatic's Pauldrons
Chestpiece: AC dungeon armor
Gauntlets: transmuted Hall of Momuments Heavy Heavenly Bracers
Leggings: Vigil
Boots: Galvanic Boots (Asuran T1 cultural)

Dyes are White and Sapphire.
