Well the plan was to make eight chars one for each profession, and out of those eight five would be leveled to 80 one of each race. Then I would only main three, one from each class. Here is what I got thus far:

1. Sylvari Theif
2. Norn Warrior
3.Human Necro (might changed Mes once I get her to lvl 80)
                            
4. Asuran Guardian
5. Asuran Engineer
6. Charr elementalist  
7.Human Mes (lazyly lvling her to 80)
8. Ranger (has yet to take his/her first steps into Tyria)

I main a Thief; but I'm levelling a Warrior so that I can do PvE without paying any attention.

Charr Guardian. And he's my only lv 80, since I'm bad at alts. A have wanted a Charr since its announcement and I fell in love with guardian during the BWE. At first I wanted an engi but didn't like it. My other toons are:

Human Warrior - to go WvW without being range-crippled and now I'm thinking of DPS dungeon war when I finally lvl him
Human Thief - for the looks. Temple Armor and dual pistols ftw
Sylvari Elementalist - for the utility, I like the class mechanics
Human Mesmer - to sport some blink and portals I guess, maybe WvW or dungeons

I got two main

Sylvari Engineer : WvW and sPvP
Charr Guardian : PvE

I also have :

Human Mesmer : Not really a main but i play a lot with it right now since I use it for CoF path 1 Farm.

These three are secondary character for me. I used to keep my Ele at AC, but now i hate this dungeon. I move them around dependly on what i need. Two of them used to be at CoF for token, now they are at Orr for some orichalcum.

Norn Warrior : This is my leveling character, now at level 67. I don't plan to roll a thief after.

Human Warrior for me, in GW1 I had both a Warrior and an Assassin, the assassin was my main then. When I started watching the GW2 videos about the thief I was looking forward to the play style. It looked interesting and didn't seem to squishy or the much of a tank either. Although when I started playing it, it didn't meet up to my expectations at all. Then I gave the warrior a try and it was what I was looking for. It seemed to give me the equilibrium between thief and guardian. Felt a lot more mobile and the play style seems to flow a bit better.Even though their limited in pvp for now it's still manageable.

My first level 80 was my sylvari Elementalist. After I hit level 80 and found a suitable build I RP'd her till death. When I got tired of RP and couldn't bear the fact she had only 55% map completion and due to her squishy build. (glass canon anyone?!) I decided to create a new character.

Until that point I still considered my ele as my main.

But when I started playing my mesmer, I got mesmerized by the butterflies, awesome build up from lvl 10 to 40, where ones skills/traits finally started to their true colours. And ever since I hit lvl 50 I am in true love with this human mesmer of mine. Therefore I voted human/mesmer as my main as I am willing to put all my motivation into this charatcer and see where it brings me.I even considered going for a legendary for this char!

But I must say that the poll results are really different from what I expected it to be...

Especially seeing that the charr are least liked as a main... But then again we are just a small bunch of the playing crowd so I'll take these results with a grain of salt.

Build is based around Death Shroud

For me it is my Human Guardian.

What I find interesting, is how humans ended by far the most popular race, when at the launch the divide between the five races was pretty even. Now, almost half of the populace is playing as one.

Most played I guess is guardian, even though I've been leveling some alts as of late.
