I'm currently on Gunnars Hold and the server is pretty much dead now, in every aspect of the game. With paid transfers coming soon I want to get to a better populated server before I have to pay, so which would be a good server to go to? I don't simply want to look at the wvw rankings list and choose one higher up on the list...
Which are the higher populated Eu servers?

Desolation, Seafarer's Rest are 2 of the most populated international servers.
Elona Reach is a populated German Server.
Vizunah Square and Arborstone are French well populated servers.
Baruch Bay is a populated Spanish Server.
Actually looking at the WWW rankings is surprisingly or not a good indicator.

Also, for future reference, if you go to the World Transfer list of worlds, you can see how concentrated the server's population is. The more populated servers are listed at the bottom.

Hi, no disrespect but do you play outside prime time? Gunnar's Hold is seeing a resurgence at the moment. The population was in freefall due to a number of guilds seeking glory in WvW and of course, this had an effect on PvE numbers too.
However, the remaining guilds and individuals, certainly in WvW, started working together to improve our overall enjoyment of the game not just for PvP but for PvE.
We now have a growing, friendly community, no rivalries or inflated ego's, with a community forum and Mumble server open to everyone on the server and promoted by dozens of people on a daily basis. It is not purely about WvW as we realise a healthy PvE section is also important and as such we organise daily mining runs, temple clearances, dungeon runs etc.
Our community is far from dead, over 100 people on mumble, numerous individuals and guilds, for the WvW reset last night, all planning and working together. The daily mining run with a zerg group of a size any WvW server would be hard pressed to match, weekly training runs in WvW for anyone interested in learning more about this aspect of the game all run by a huge group of friendly, dedicated and approachable players whose sole aim is to make Gunnar's Hold a good place to be for the WHOLE community.
So please, don't make false representations without first trying to 'join in'. Come to the forum http://www.gunnars-hold-eu sign up, jump into mumble and say hello, we promise not to bite

Yes I play during prime time. I just don't feel "connected" to the server. Everyone seems to do their own things and only interact with their social clicks these days. Tried interacting with people but they don't seem to want any of it

I would urge you to join the community, jump into mumble and say hello. I know this may sound a little daunting to a newcomer but I can assure you everyone is made to feel welcome either as a guild or as an individual, you may be pleasantly surprised.
