I've searched the forums, or at least gave it a try... and couldn't find anything on queue times.

Anyways, my friends are looking to transfer into a tier 1 server for WvW. We're not sure what server were wanting to transfer to just yet. However, we play on a lower populated server and are looking to use our pro skills on a bigger server more oriented on WvW.

Could anyone leave some feedback on what some of the queue times are on t1 servers? As of now we're thinking Sea of Sorrows or Blackgate.

Most of the time it's instant, when we're really pushing... 5-10 minutes. On reset day it'll be an hour for Ebg and about 10-15 for the other borderlands.

On immediate reset you're going to see about an hour queue. After that first hour, however, the timer drops to either instant or five minutes. The rest of the time, the only map that will have a queue will be Eternal Battleground, and even then it isn't very long.

Jade Quarry (longest standing T1) is nearly always instant, think it goes for all the t1 unless its reset day like mentioned above.

I think everyone in tier1 have almost the same queue time.
Peak time - queued only two maps the rest  is instant
Offpeak - instant queue

However the population wise, Blackgate has the least (Prove is right now BG is the only server that you can move to! but SoS/JQ/SoR/TC full) Also the queue wise, blackgate should has less queue than SoS/JQ,plus easier to transfer to and definitely we need your help here in tier1 .

You're not taking into account the large PVE community that is on Sea of Sorrows.

That's a losing battle. Nobody in the guru community believes that pve only players have any effect of server population at all. It goes back as far as HoD telling SBI that there was equal numbers on the battlefield because both servers were "full".

i m from Seafarer's Rest server, here we have a good number of www players, also the server is still medium population so quee are really short or not existant at all...

Blackgate has the lowest wvw population in t1 so we have the least amount of queue times.

SoS barely has ques.

Both servers generally the same sort of que times I guess.

We have benches to sit on while you wait though and free takoyaki. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Recently there's been queues on JQ but I haven't experienced one last longer than 15 minutes.

The more important question is what queue times will be like in a month from now after the WvW patch.    With all servers getting their population caps raised and w/o knowing how the update will affect culling and the like it is highly unknown where queues are headed next.  To be on the safe side I would seriously consider tier 2 or 3 if my guild was looking to move.  Their fights are just as intense as tier 1 when there is not one overly dominate force in the room.  For now JQ has 10 minute queue times in high activity hours which I already find plenty annoying but then we've been spoiled lately with near zero queues the previous couple of months so of course this upswing we are on now is making me bitter.

Dont forget EU T1 we dont have any que in your timeframe:) Check our server Desolation....awesome community and we definitely have Pro guilds that can give you a home when you want one.....fights are epic in EU T1-2.

There'll also probably be folks that come back for a while after the patch... Not a major thing to consider, but will probably have a minimal/short-term effect on the queues for a bit.

Jade Quarry rarely has queues. Weekends, especially evening ETS there's about a half hour wait to get in at least 1 map. EB? Forget about it on a weekend night.

But during the week, unless there's something really huge going down, no queues.

You obviously didn't play from start.  And no matter what server you're complaining about, if you stay in a queue for more than 30 minutes I would relog.

i have been sitting in queue for eb on jq for the last 2 and a half hours so there are long queues dont know why people are saying otherwise and that is during early morning est time on a thursday.i can only imagine how bad they are at other times and days.

If you stay in a queue longer than 30 minutes, it's a bug. Shut the entire client down and restart. No queues during weekday last that long. If they do, ask other player IN  GAME how long the queue was to get in (make sure it's someone IN EB). It's usually less than 15 minutes.

This is a known issue with the log in server.

was hoping nobody would see that post until i was able to fix it but to answer your question i started this game a month after it launched and never seen a queue like this.not on db and not on sos when i followed friends there 2 months ago.at least the long queues will give me time to start farming karma since anet finally released exotic versions of the trinkets i use.


edit-i will try to restart the client to see if that helps

edit#2 eb is bugged right now.there are people complaining about it on jq bl and one guy been in queue for it all night

If it doesn't ASK someone in game how long it takes them to get into EB. EB's queue this morning (as of 5 minutes ago) was less than 5 minutes. I got in instantly.

Well to for the sake of healthy WvW competition, roll to BG or SoR ^^  - shouldn't have to worry too much about queue times.
