Does anyone know this for sure yet, one way or the other? There are so few endgame armor skins available to me since I rarely have time for 1.5-2+ hour playsessions at a time, nevermind grinding those for days/weeks.

It actually doesn't take that long to get dungeon armors if you run 2 or 3 paths of a dungeon a day, and if you know the dungeon it probably won't even take an hour. Everyone loves CoF armor and you can run path 1 and 2 in like 40 mins. Though I don't think they will make dungeon armors available without doing the dungeon, that'd make even less people want do dungeons and Fractals has already done that.

Thanks for your response. I don't disagree with you, although it seems strange that ArenaNet is really preaching their 'play your way' philosophy, yet the majority of endgame skins are still going to be available in a very limited part of the game. There aren't currently enough other skins out there for this new rewards system to really be viable.

Some armors really don't take that long.
AC can be done within 8 days if you can play ~1-1,5h/day.
CoF is even faster.

Only exception is Arah, which takes a rather long time to get.

They meant play your way for necessary things.
Like level up by exploring, fighting, WvW, crafting,...

Dungeon armors should show some prestige to the wearer, that he was able to complete that content.

What made you think the dungeon armor could possibly be obtained by the new reward system?

Indeed, don't think they said anything about this or even inferred it.

I will say that coming from GW1, I was a bit disappointed in that there weren't multiple ways of getting any of the armor sets in the game.

This new system was supposed to open up the end game for level 80 characters, was it not?

The 'play your way' philosophy doesn't apply to everything in the game. Easiest example is monthly achievements...if we don't beat invaders in WvW (specifically beat 50 human enemies, not just exploration or taking camps) or do Fractals, we do not get the reward for monthlies. I'm ok with fractals but only run it with friends since we're at the same level and work well together. Even if I don't like WvW, I've had to do it lately to clock up for the monthlies. It's not mandatory of course, but having more options for these achievements (which was hinted at recently) would be a welcome change.

Highly unlikely.
The gear is specific for their dungeons.Getting them without doing those dungeons does seem quite silly.

I'm not sure what you mean by this new system, to be honest. You mean the system where we are going to get crowns for the daily/monthly achievements? And what do you mean with opening up endgame? You can already easily acquire exotic level armor, so dungeon armor are there for fluff only. If you take a look at all the different armor skins here, you'll find you can acquire plenty of skins outside of dungeons.

I would however not count on dungeon skins being available in any other way than they are now because in the end these are just that, skins, and part of the horizontal progression.

Not in those words, it's not that it's closed right now ;)

While I dislike teh armour sets, it has good stats ..
Anyway CoF1 is the fastest dungeon in the game, a really good team can clear it in 10 minutes.
There's also AC2 and TA1 which don't take too long.

Actually most dungeons in GW2 are clearable within 1 hour if you know what you're doing and you skip the skippable trash mobs and in-between bosses.
