What an exciting week!

  Will there be a last minute wave of transfers this weekend before lockdown?

  Will SoS hold off JQ for the number 1 position as we race to this week's finish line?

  Will Maguuma leapfrog directly to Tier 2?

  Will the bottom tiers prove to be the most competitive in the game?

  Will former friends and allies become bitter enemies and rivals as they face each other from their new servers?

  Will the new ANet fixes make WvW better. Will they work at all?

  Will WvW communities finally be able to get some useful rewards?

   We are in for an exciting finish this week, and an exciting Official Lockdown Week of WvW.

Grats on picking up VoTF.  The are an amazing group of people to play along side of.  Very skilled group of players.  Was hoping if they came to NA we'd be fighting with them again but I'm excited to fight against them as well!

Something funny happened that my Great Brain couldn't foresee. Maguuma has been stifled. Yak's Bend was able to crush Kaineng during the primetime hours. Dragonbrand, full of old Kaineng suddenly knows how to play the game and is leading tier 3.

With one day left before free transfers close, it's becoming difficult to choose a home. 3 servers I've played on that I would never go back to are Ferguson's Crossing, Yak's Bend, and Tarnished Coast.

So further utilizing my Great Brain, I'm able to conclude that if Yak's Bend can hold Kaineng still, there isn't any way Kaineng is going to tier 1. No way at all! And as Kaineng begins to stagnate, bandwagoneers will stop playing. They'll go somewhere else. ArenaNet is really genius in the fact that they got everybody addicted to transferring for free before they implemented pay transfers.

These people who came to Kaineng by the boatload are going to get tired of sitting in queue for 6 hours just for a lackluster performance like this.

What server to choose, though? That's the question? Maybe the party's in tier 1! Maybe being part of a dominant server that has ALWAYS dominated is where you should be?!? Maintaining a legacy of domination seems to be more rewarding than trying to climb the ladder with a bunch of mouthbreathers who can't even get past Yak's Bend until they go to bed!

What are you guys gonna do? There's only a day left to decide.

I know that you are turning it into fun, but just as a small note - do not judge WM's server based on the reset night. We had horrible starts on SBI usually and it was the oceanic time + weekdays when they started dominating. I see a 600pt right now and 3 times more pts than YB.

Kaineng will get to T1 pretty fast. Next week SBI will probably have to face them in T3 - the joy.

The scores the way they are right now, The server that drops out of T1 (I'm not calling it the loser. BG as it stands in 2nd will still get bumped. Wut?), will get to greet Kaineng in T2 next week.

on MOS it seems that Kaineng might skip T3 and jump straight to T2. It all depends on how Maguuma and FA do in their tier.

Personally, I won't mind getting robbed of T1 by SOR beating up on a dead server, because I welcome the challnege of facing WM on Kaineng in T2.  Besides SOR we faced in T2 will not do that well against a powerhouse server like JQ and SoS.  With all due respect, they don't have the coverage unless something has changed in the past two weeks.

They received some transfers from SBI, mostly in the SEA time period. It's impossible to say what kind of numbers those transfers represent however until they're put to the test against JQ, SoS or BG.

I will say this though, the rating they're cannibalizing from SBI and TC is probably vaulting them higher than their correct rating point, so they're going to have to perform well beyond expectations to not lose rating in their first T1 match. Knowing SoR though, I'm sure they'll welcome the challenge.

SoR hasn't proven itself to get into tier 1. They haven't won an actual 3 way WvWvW match in 3 months. They just got lucky being able to leach 250 glicko off SBI for 3 weeks. What a screwed up system, BG earned its spot in T1, SoR hasn't.

In terms with this, this is how it currently looks in the tier 2 matchup.

SoR - 116,490
TC   - 39,698
SBI   - 12,988

SoR has so far gained 73.9 points from this match up already and this is the third week running its happened

Earned or not makes no difference. By the same methodology, one could argue BG didn't earn it's first entry into T1, and obtained it by catapulting off of the rating of the failing HoD and ET. In the end, the same rating system that moves you up too fast has the same ability to correct downward if you do not score enough against your opponents in the higher tier. The higher the vault the better you have to perform.

Your comparison isn't applicable, BG didn't kick a server out of T1 that won T2 9 weeks straight to get there.

edit: The fact that my server worked its ass off for 9 weeks straight proving its dominance in T2 to move back into T1 yet we are now being bumped out by a server that hasn't won an actual real T2 match against 2 healthy servers ever is bullshit to me. People can justify this shitty glicko system all they want. BG proved ourselves worthy competitors these last 3 months (9 weeks in Tier 2, 3 weeks in Tier 1) and this is how we get rewarded by this fail of a system. Call it butthurt, IDGAF.

Well, whether it's SoS or BG that gets knocked down to T2, it's going to be a very interesting match what with Kaineng jumping directly there next week. I'm curious about their actual strength and T2 will be a good test.

As for SoR, if they are like they were a few weeks ago I'd say they are not ready for T1 and will get smashed. However, they did get some transfers in so it's hard to tell just how much they've improved. Who knows, they might hold their own.

Frankly, i'm more curious bout kaineng. From a lower tier, they sure recruit and attract tons of wvw guild to their server.
Is very easy to recruit ppl due to low population what more they got WM... last i heard kaineng recruit at least 5 wvw guild in 48 hrs time before free transfer end.
Imagine short queue and those who going to kaineng is most probably wvw guild !

Cant commend much bout SOR tho...currently in T2 alot of wvw guild in sbi had left their server. SOR did get some transfer themselves...

Everybody is curious to see what Kaineng can do in T2 and T1.. Lets see how much they really recruited and if it will be enough.

Good point pot. Although one could argue IoJ got it worse. They got booted out of T1 after just one match, by BG who bounced off of HoD and ET, after losing to the 4th T1 server for weeks. By the way, I'm on your side regarding the rating system. I'm usually on your side on most points actually. But I'm not going to let it piss me off. Yeah it's ridiculous that it can be possible for a server to move to the #2 spot right from T2, after just 3 wins in 3 months, but it's just a ranking, and one that will shift back toward reality before long.

Although bg is doing some good work this week, to be honest they didn't "get" into tier 1, SBI died, and so they were dumped over tier 1, SoR isnt winning a place in tier 1 in a real good manner, anyway if they are not worth it they will drop in 1 week.

There will still be a lot of education that needs to be done for the Kaineng pugs. T2 will indeed be a challenge not only for the guilds that transferred over, but also for the server natives that have yet to experience top tier. Winning immediately in our first week in T2 will be unlikely. Free transfers has ended, best of luck to all the guilds who have found a (hopefully this time) permanent home.

I don't think Kaineng is going T2 after reset.  FA is starting to pull ahead and you'll probably end up seeing Maguuma and DB fighting each other for second.  Maguuma has a very strong N/A primetime and DB has a very strong Asian primetime so they kind of cancel each other out, which will just push FA higher into the lead and push its points up for T2.

I honestly think SoR 2.0 is much scarier than Blackgate or what SoS has apparently devolved into.  SBI didn't get so weak because it's guilds disappeared into thin air.  I think T1 is in for a rude awakening at next reset.

Would be even better for Kaineng (personally speaking and not speaking for the whole server) to not get into the higher tier so quickly yet. Though most of the new guilds there have experience in T1 and T2 but my guild and probably others still need a bit more time to regroup.
