The update tonight is causing an infinite loading screen. I can't even log into my main character now because of this. >=T

A few people are having a problem with Game\Main\MainCli.cpp(591), where there's a corrupted file somewhere down the line. It stops people loading in to one specific map. Mine is Kessex Hills.
Apparently running -repair a few times (by adding -repair to the end of your GW2 shortcut) will fix the issue.

I try to avoid BC anyway as it's a depressing, factory like place.

Gerroh, the one time I have had my frames drop to 2-3 or so (I have them fixed at 60 on a gtx670) was when I first enter Queendale from Divnity's Reach. The only other time that has ever happened was today when I was doing map completion for an alt in the Black Citadel. Ironic you point out your issues and I had my share earlier today

I was having this issue a while back. In my case it was caused by the processes in Guild Wars 2 drawing on corrupt RAM and therefore bugging up the game data.
If it happens enough times then you should be given the option to repair game data; if you do so, you shouldn't have any further problems, unless your RAM acts up again. Though it may very well be something else - RAM was just my specific case.
