FPS plummets when opening contact list

I've been experiencing this issue since beta. Anytime I open up the contact menu my fps goes from 60 to 5-10. I've tried lowering graphic settings/resolution nothing changes. Did many clean installs and i am running latest nvidia drivers

It seems like this issue has been pretty widespread for awhile, but I haven't seen any official word on it.
For me, it started happening in October on through to today, and it affects both Contacts and Guild UI windows for me.

Hmmm - I haven's seen that issue myself. At least your Contacts menu isn't up constantly. Since this is most likely a game bug you would need to contact GW2 Support or post the problem on the Official Forums.

Well I message friends using it a lot and check to see whose online. Guess i'll try the official forums

I haven't encountered this issue either and I have pretty much the same specs as yours.

Not sure either, but I'm running the game on a SSD and I have noticed small behavior differenced between a SSD and a traditional hard drives like the time it takes to load textures on the mini map.
I actually tried to replicate the issue and I was still at 45 fps on max, native sampling in Lion's Arch.

Who experiences this and who doesn't seems not to follow any rhyme or reason. We had a thread here on GW2 Guru a few months ago discussing it and it didn't seem to follow any particular hardware configurations, and affected both high-end and low-end setups.
For what its worth, I'm running an i5-750 at 3.6 GHz, a GTX 460 1 GB with 310.90 and Windows 7 64-bit. Also running the game off of an SSD.

lag was fixed for me from current patch
