With a big thank you to ArenaNet for making this possible, we are glad to announce that we are holding the Biggest Fan Contest for the community! We've got three signed collector's editions of Guild Wars 2 that are looking for new homes. How can you win such an amazing prize? Read below!

How to Enter
We want you to show us how much you love of the game by created something Guild Wars 2 related. It can be a poem, a diorama, a painting, a comic, a video, a cake, a quilt, an... anything!

Once the contest ends, the staff here will help vote the winners. You can help out by hitting the Like button on any entry you deem worthy of winning! We'll announce the winners after the votes have been cast. Winners will receive a PM asking for their physical address.

• Entries are limited to US and Canadian residents only. Residents of Arizona, Massachusetts and the province of Quebec, Canada are ineligible to enter or win.

I'm sorry that some of you will think it's unfair, but I can't exactly agree with that. There have been several EU sites that have given CE's since Guild Wars 2 has come out. The restriction sucks, yes, but there have been many opportunities for both regions.

Maybe I'm wrong but I really do not recall such a opportunity for EU players in the past.

There are EU located FanSites that have run similar contests.  This is not a question of fairness - it's a question of Geography, which is out of everyone's control.

Your right, I've checked and there was one time event when they had giveaway on EU fan sites in august but rewards were only Deluxe and standard game edition boxes.

Thorn is a full-length Guild Wars 2 novel that's currently nearing its final chapters.

Six months of work so far, and over 100,000 words--roughly 350 pages and counting as of early February. I suspect we'll be looking at 450 or so by the time it's finished.

If anything was ever a labor of love, this is it.

(EDIT: Chapter 14 is now live as of 2/6.)

This was initially for a wintersday art contest, but it took much much longer to finish than what I first expected.
Thus explaining the wintersday theme.

This is true, but as GW2Guru being the biggest fansite I'm kinda disappointed with this.. :/

Given, yes. Awarded? No. See, there's these nasty things call laws, and unfortunately it's complicated enough wiht just dealing with one region's laws (in this instance, North America). Especially if you have a contest based on merit (like this) but auto-disquailfies someone from placing in the top spot because of something not related to the contest that doesn't outright disqualify them from the contest. No "You can enter if you are not from here, but you can't win first place".

And even giveaways can have issues with items worth money - and the gem cards are blatantly worth money.

I do find the Arizona/Massachusetts thing odd though. It's usually Rhode Island (due to contest registration rules. Or does this not hit the fees/etc since it's not a simply lottery-giveaway style?)

I was excited to enter for the whole of 5 seconds until I read Massachusetts residents aren't eligible. Well that's a punch in the face.
