Alright guys, I'm so tired of trying to find a server thats good for me....I need some help.

Ok so my guild that I run has around 40 people in it...(could be more if you joined :D) haha, but we mainly do WvW but also have a good time exploring and doing dungeons. Yet when we move to a server, it either is REALLY bad PvE or REEEEAAALLLLYYYY bad WvW. So, I'd love to get some feedback on what the best servers you guys think are. Also, which ones are heavily populated. Thanks!

Go for a good WvW server and guest on decent PvE ones.

This.

If that's not something that you are interested in doing,  I would say that I've had good experience with Sanctum of Rall.  Our WvW is pretty consistent (not top tier, but we've been chilling in Tier 2 of NA for a while) and the PvE has a good community.  During some of my strange play-times (due to RL constraints...early morning IE 5AM~ish) there is something left to be desired, but I don't expect there to be massive amounts of people on, all day, every day.  When I do get a chance to play at more "normal" times, there isn't usually people lacking in the PvE areas, except some of the middle level areas, but even then its not too difficult to find at least a couple other people willing to run events or even work on clearing the whole map with you.

I just moved to Sanctum of Rall within the past few days and I have to say that both the wvw and PvE seem to be doing fine.  Almost any time of day I am seeing people in most zones (haven't been to all) and seeing people looking for groups for dungeons/factals.

Jade Quarry is the perfect server you're looking for Great WVW and Pve . Always someone looking for dungeons people around for farming DEs etc.  Out of all the servers with the free transfers I have seen them all go from bad to good or vice versa. JQ has always remained consistent and will remain so after there is no more free transfers.

I'm biased towards JQ, having been there since BWE3, but it really is a good server. We do very well in WvW and free server transfers haven't really had any effect on us there, and there's a lot of people in PvE. We've also got a good number of pretty large guilds running around that I see frequently in both WvW and PvE.

Some people have attitude problems in WvW, but I only ever notice that on our own borderlands; the other borderlands and EB are great.

I'm on FA and I've never had an issue with PvE and we just had an infusion of WvW guilds thats made us quite a bit more respectable in our previous and current matchups.

Are you talking about the past or the present. In case i hope you're joking. ^_^ JQ is the most antisocial antipve server at all. Mute LA chat, full of wierdos and some personality disorder players, temples are permanently not taken. You can guess all of them is on overflow doing fractal, ye. ^_^ (Aka 0 reason at all to move to JQ)
WvW yes, agree, is a good one (about player's performance). Don't expect "that much" wvw playerbase. How do i know it? simple answer: no queue at all ^_^

There's a queue for WvW most of the time. Last night there was a ridiculously long queue for it. Even if off-peak hours I hit a queue more often than not.

And no, JQ is not an anti-social PvE server at all; there's people talking in chat all the time, and the only temple that doesn't get taken regularly during the week is Balthazar...and that's because that event chain sucks. It's nearly always taken on the weekends. I myself participate in Grenth at least once a day, and I've done Melandru and Lyssa more times than I can count.

Maguuma is where it's at IMO.

We just moved up to T3 in WvW after two weeks of roflstomping the other servers by about 3 or 400k. Lol last I looked we are in 3rd this week but its a very close game and me and my guild welcome the exciting challenge.

As for PvE, I friggin love it. Obviously I can't speak for every zone but from my experience, each zone is populated enough.

Now the biggie-Orr-that's a whole other story.

On any given day or time there can be as many as 1-4 different temples open. This server kicks complete and total butt when it comes to having them open. This would include Balthazar as well but he's been stuck. Something to do with reinforcements not progressing towards the temple after arriving at Pact Rally. I'm hoping this is just a rare fluke and were good to go after the server reset that will come with tomorrow's patch.

Curious, because i remember (on peek hours) a way different dead JQ (and a WAY different temple status), looking forward to move out as soon as possible on overflow.. ^_^

p.s. my post covers the entire life of JQ (in the past at launch ye, it was what you wrote), not what you saw yesterday or 2 days ago ;)
Sorry to tell you but even a mod here posted the same, and can confirm ;)

Just to be clear, we were never *y about things. At least my guild isn't. We had to cancel WvW nights because of the diff in skill between us and the others. WvW is boring when your share of the pie is, well....the pie. Lol
We give it our all but in the end we don't care if we win or lose, just that its an entertaining experience. HAVE AT YOU!

Obviously, when asked a question like this, no-one is going to respond with "well, im on X server and it blatantly sucks, best not transfer here".

I'm on Tarnished Coast, the unofficial NA RP-server. Tier 2 in wvw, atm mostly in second place because SoR has more coverage and some very decent WvW guilds, but we stnd our ground as best as we can. Decent community too, not too many jerks around though we have a few just like any other server does. In PvE its the same as most places, some zones are generally pretty empty though you are likely to always see a few people around doing mapcompletion or some roleplay.

A week or so ago we had 12 large guilds do a 20 minute blackout, in an attempt to lower our "full" status to "very high"  in order to allow a guild to transfer over...

But, as i said: Everyone always feels their own server is better then all the others.... In the end its your own experience that matters.

honestly, i love the community on JQ, but we DO NOT need more transfers, if you bring your guild over To JQ, you will likely have to deal with queues much of the time. I would recommend Any of the T1 and T2 servers, minus JQ and SBI, SBI is dropping lower every matchup because most of their major guilds left. I can heartily recommend Blackgate, they are a really good WvW server, and the PvE is pretty fun and friendly from what i've heard.

I have to agree with this.  TC has good wvw and good pve.  Granted I use the LFG web site for most groups, you can see people out all the time and there is usually an acceptable conversation in /map.

The guild itself is crossserver, all your architecture and influence however stays on the server where it was built/acquired. so  if you build a guildbank or research something on server A, you wont have access to that on Server B.

edit: This applies to when you transfer ofcourse, not when guesting.

Tested yet?

p.s. lose access to the guildbank and any progression is a pure nonsense, clearly a lack of proper programming interserver
