Wren paulrons are a popular choice (dark armor in pvp locker). Personally i like Honor of the Waves pauldrons (arms of Koda).

I personally use the HotW shoulders as well on my guardian, and think they would fit into your set very well (I combo them with AC gloves and boots like OP has as well).

as for helmet, there really aren't any good closed-face helmets in the game.  I personally went with the TA helmet as its the closest to what I wanted for a similar set to what you have OP.  Really wish there was a nice streamlined closed-face helmet in the game that isn't covered in ridiculous spikes and whatnot.

Human t3 maybe?
I would suggest the wren set, koda, human t2-t3

I use t3 helmet, and switch between t2 shoulders, vigil and karma!

Seconded. I used the T2 human shoulders from 60-80 before I got the Orr Karma exotics. Still might transmute the shoulders back to the cultural skin.

Caudecus Manor Helmet, all Human Cultural Helmets, Vigil Helmet. I see your going for a Ebon Vanguard look so the CM Helmet and the T2 and T3 helmets go especially well with it. Though the Ascalonian Helmet fits that theme the best IMO (both look and lore-wise), but since you've tried it and didn't like it I suppose that's not an option.

As for shoulders, there's a lot of good ones there as well. Dark Shoulders (dunno what they're called in PvE, they're bought from karma merchs in Firehart Rise or Orr), Human T2 and T3 Shoulders (human cultural armors are great overall, even the T1 one is awesome), Vigil Shoulders.

There's a disturbing lack of good face-covering helmets in this game, though. There are a few good ones like the Ascalonian and the Caudeacus Manor one, but that's basically it, if you don't wanna go all silly with horned helmets and whatnot.

The exotic Karma ones from Orr temples would look good on you, there all spikey.

Another good choice is the primevil ones from gems.

I thought the Deathly Pauldrons went well with this chest...but hey, I just kinda liked the skull theme.

At leats its not all the crazy-azz spikes...:)
