I decided it would be fun to have a thread wherein we can all share what has inspired us to create all the awesome looks we have made for our characters. :) The idea is to post a "reference" photo to show what has inspired you to make your current appearance. I'll begin:

My latest look is loosely "Samurai"-inspired.

While my husband's favorite look is his "Prince Arthas Menethil" look:

Go on, post yours! We'd love to see them. :D

Thank you for sharing, those are impressive / hilarious! My favorite is the lil' storm trooper Asura, I believe he posted on this forum too.

Note:
Anyone may post their inspiration on this thread! It can be an attempted "copy" or "cosplay" of famous characters or simply something that inspired you to create your look - like say, a flower. Or a bell. Or a piece of candy.

I'm loving this concept. I bought the shoulders but I'm putting my own spin on it. The Kodan legs give me that Samurai-Gladiator sort of look that I'm really enjoying.

Here are some of mine - really dorky, I admit

Some one asked if it was possible to make a "dwarf looking character"......
Posted Image

Some one on a different forum wanted to know if one could make a "traditional wizard robe".....

Posted Image

I found a recipe for a "wooden sword" and just had to make a 12 year old who could kill a dragon with a toy weapon  Shoes are t1 medium  human which look like tennis shoes in white and ebony.  Karma pants dyed denim look like jeans.  I don't like the jacket but it was the only male jacket I could find that didn't look like a trenchcoat.

Posted Image

I apologize deeply for this one.... Pebbles Flintsone all grown up....

Posted Image

And to fit with the Darth Vaders and the mini-stormtroopers, here is the closest I could get to a Jedi Cat

Oooh nice work Crantson! My favorite one is the "traditional wizard" look, the gnarled walking stick suits it perfectly. Also, that mug on the "dwarf" is a laugh - I love it. :D

Did somebody say Spiderman?! (I actually had my character run the Mad King Jumping Puzzle in this outfit during Halloween)

Fun, since I wear it while playing the Mario Theme with Choir Bells.

Persona 3 Thanatos... eh... kinda...

Never actually did play FF13 at all, but I somewhat based my Assassin's outfit off this character. Kinda...

My inspiration here was the fur color combination of the Guild Wars 1 charr shamans. They had brown fur with lighter brown color on the face, and darker brown spots. Their manes contrasted with their fur because they were orange or red. This character is intended to be the child of a shaman, and I wanted her fur style to reflect that.
