Since guesting is being added tomorrow, can we all agree on a server where we can all guest for regular Non-Dungeon PvE content?

One where maps aren't completely empty?

That way DE's are always active and full of people participating.

Can a mod make a 2 polls ???
one for US servers and one for EU servers so we can vote on it.

I agree on this, we need to get the community moving and deciding on a server. It will be so much easier to do PvE and have the maps full of people do to guesting. No need to keep switching back and forth. I think we should pick low pop servers that way we can get everyone in easily. This will make leveling alts easy, we just need to all agree on a server. I think Devona's Rest or Borlis Pass might be good servers for this.

I like the idea. Still puzzled if the moment i move when guesting, my guild is not lost. A bug i expect, 100%.

The best idea would be to guest to the least populated server, to avoid overflow as much as possible, so IoJ is not an ideal candidate and neither is SBI.

I have to ask why - the OP has not made the case for a dedicated PvE server.  I going to stay on my server with my guild mates.

Voting might not be the best way to go about it. Everyone is prone to vote for their own server, which means we'll end up with a densely populated one. That basically means everyone will be dumped into an overflow pretty fast.

Might as well look up the server with the least population density, and pin that one as "place to be" for PvE guesting.

I moved to Underworld from Gunnars Hold for my PVE. I don't mind guesting to a dedicated server tho.

Except for the fact that IoJ is pretty much dead in most areas. Come take a look tomorrow. There isn't many here, our temples are taken a lot of the time, but were the server to actually be organised everything would always be capped.

Before you do anything like this, check your WvW scores and see how the WvW people are doing. If they're battling their arses off you'll be screwing a whole section of the server community like this. If the server has no real WvW population then that would be a safer bet.

This would be a great idea. As for reasons why since someone made a point to make a post about a reasoning...

1) It would allow for a place people can can make an educated guess that Temples in Orr will be open all the time.
1.1) If they aren't open people could easily find enough people to get them open.
2) It can allow non dungeon players to group up for DE's and character leveling.
2.2) Could also be used as a place for people working on 100% map completion to use
3) Just a good idea...couldn't really think of anything else

All American Servers are High or Very High atm. I would suggest basing the decision off of choosing a High server or a server within lowest WvW Tier. The reasoning behind choosing a server in the lowest tier is that it can be assumed that is already a largely PvE oriented server.

I believe we should expand this idea and choose a dedicated server for speed running dungeons & FoTM

On another note, you also can't just choose based off the Guru community. I know this is blasphemy to most people on this website but Guru comprises like 2% of the GW2 population. Go to Reddit, other fan sites, official forums and any other outlets to let the community as a whole know of the plans and what server gets chosen.

Okay, here's a better idea. What about a site (like gw2lfg and gw2db) that gives info on current online population and which Orr temples are captured on what servers 24/7?

That way the "dedicated pve server" can change accordingly, but will most likely stick to one or two for the most part.

As an EU player, I am going with Fort Aspenwood as my NA choice because I LOVED that place in GW1.

So instead of most servers having a low/medium pop in a pve zone, where players can still get a few small groups going, you want 1-2 servers to have huge PVE zergs while the rest are deserted?

seems like applying WvW mentality(and all the problems that come with it) to pve.

most servers have a low/nothing pop in a pve zone, that's the problem.
We decide on a server as a community, then try to let everyone know which server that is, make it common knowledge like gw2lfg.com has become.

Does anyone know how we can do guesting anyway?  I assumed like FotM party, in order to guest somewhere, you need to be in a party and only be able to go one of your party menber's server.

That will never happen. The event chain is rigged so that there is no way to maintain a permanent hold on the temple. The risen counter-attacks get harder each time, and eventually the temple WILL be taken back, forcing the event chain to restart.

Fort Aspenwood is a tier 3 WvWvW server and soon to be tier 2 because we are dominating tier 3.  FA would be a bad choice for random PvE guesting.

Gunnar Hold is medium and it got quite a few votes, so we could go for that one.  Now what I don't get is that some people still vote for the french or german servers.
