Let me preface by saying that I love the Asuran race and think they are the best looking/sounding and also have the best animations. (dodge roll for instance is a flip)

But now that I have my Incinerator I realize their downfall is that all weapons become half their size and in turn half as awesome.

I worked long and hard on this thing so I'm just hoping they add a way to buy a race change from the gem store. (similar to the makeover kits)

Here's a quick video I did just to show you what I am complaining about.

Does anyone else feel they got screwed by the race they chose? how and why? Maybe we can get a movement going and get them to add this feature!

p.s. I realize this could cause a host of problems including the fact that we already completed our personal storyline but I bet there is a way to get this done.

I agree with what your saying the scaling for weapons and clipping issues on armor with asura is terrible...and been like it since launch.

I still love asura and won't change but I hope they do address it.

Another issue is the size of the weapons before you draw them and after you draw them are completely off.

On your back the shield or sword looks super tiny, then suddenly it magically grow in size when you draw the weapon to a much large weapon but still tiny compared to other races.

Same with backpieces, they look way off scale and too tiny compared to other races where they look too big, like the halloween books for one. There super huge on human, charr etc, but on asurans they dont even scale to smaller there just super tiny...

I don't think they will ever fix these issues and clipping issues though, they probably wont see it as worth spending time on when so many other things need doing.

Good point eon, they definitely have bigger fish to fry right now.. And yes the clipping on weapons does drive me crazy, I can't see most daggers or pistols when previewing them because they end up UNDER my armor..

edit: But they can still implement a race change in the gem store!

The incinerator still looks great on Asura I think. But I do see what you mean about shrunk down weapons looking bad, the skull focus for instance just looks like a rock when an Asura uses it

I guess it comes down to the fact that not many people play asuras and of those that do we love them so much we are willing to have everything scaled down.

Just sucks when it took me 4 months to make my legendary. Oh well, here goes another 4 trying to get one on my human!

There are a lot of scaling issues, I highly recommend if you make any new toons and you have items planned for end game, as soon as they load take the codes and preview the gear.

Norn's have scaling issues with weapons and armor.  Specificially weapons scale to large and armor either doesn't scale from Human or does so very pathetically.  This may be armor dependent, but try the medium armor boots, shoulders and gloves from the Karma set on a human and a norn.  The difference is laughable.  Some pistols on Norn Females are HUGE, to a degree to be comical.

Actually, I remember seeing someone post a picture of a transmuted legendary hammer here in guru. When you transmute a legendary you keep both the skin and the effects, so instead of makin a new one you could just move the skin to another dagger.

I'll see if I can find the thread so that I can link it..

EDIT: Couldn't find it on a quick search, but I found this instead: http://www.guildwars...ry#entry2058130

I support the suggestion of selling a race change in the gem store.

You could transmute your legendary to a white low lvl item to make it account bound and then transmute it to an exotic and use it on a human character

It's a solution, not perfect...
But hey what is....?   :P

I personally think that looks awesome.  More than it would look on a larger race, the flames consume your right arm entirely

The only problem with the Incinerator is that stealth becomes pointless. That's the issue they need to address.... Cosmetics are slightly less important.

But wait I just realized that I should probably wait until they release ascended weapons to ensure that I get the stat upgrade first!

The new update enables you to transmute a legendary while keeping it's legendary status. So I assume when ascended weps come out all legendary status weapons will be boosted to max.

I want to assume the same but will wait for someone else to confirm it before I take the chance. thanks for the info all it is much appreciated.

it's nice that the whole arm is on fire (and that's only because the arm is so stubby) but besides that it's just smaller with smaller effects.

It is cool, just not as cool as it could be!

Might be workable but I wouldn't count on it. Transmuting creates a totally 'unique' item apparently so regardless of rarity, it's no longer really a 'legendary'. Not a risk I would take unless absolutely desperate.

At the moment I have 5 Asura toons, all different professions, and I wouldn't give any of them up. The clipping issues are bad across the different armor classes and I'm not counting on it ever being fixed. If they do however, then I am relieved. If not, then I've pretty much learned to accept it at this point. Not saying the clipping problems are 'acceptable', but I just don't forsee a fix in the future.

Transmuting the legendary across character won't work anymore.

It will permanently keep the legendary status and be bound to character.

You used to be able to put it on a blue/white, but now you can't.

Dunno what your talking about, IMHO that looks awesome, even better than on a human/norn/charr/sylvari. The fire effects on the arm are extremely noticable. around the 0:18-0:25 time frame that looks sick! I might have to re-roll my thief as a asura just for that!

I always thought people got Legendary on Asuras in an attempt to redifine "troll".

On topic...

1)The preview function is there for a reason.
2) Surely it occured to that weapons are going to be smaller on a small character. I'd be worried if Twilight on an Asura was the same size as it was on a Norn.
3) I'm sure you've seen weapons on Asura, then laughed at how unnoticeable they are.

You only have yourself to blame.

This is pretty my my general reasoning for being a human elitist, other than cultural armors, I feel as though that human got priority in all design aspects. Armors and weapons were made and modeled for humans first, then toyed with. They will never appear as good. Luckily, I enjoy humans more than the other races regardless.
