So is there something you can use these unidentifiable objects for other than just merching them? I'm assuming that's their purpose.


Anyway, I got one corrupted lodestone, two mini priests of balthazar, 6 vials, 65 drops, 19 tastes and 7 swigs of karma, 10 obsidian shards, and 171 unidentifiable objects from 53 boxes.

As for the locations...Pagga at Pagga's Waypoint in Malchor's gives them away. Any karma vendor in orr does, and there should be at least one per waypoint.

The silver from the Unidentified Objects can rack up quite nicely for an extra income. My own best drop from the boxes so far was the mini-pet as well.

I've had a few shards and some junk really.. from about 6 boxes so far. Only just got legendary though so short on karma.

I assume the mini-pet is account bound?


And really stupid but optimistic question; is there ANY way at all of giving accound bound items as gifts to someone that I've missed?

I clicked Sell Junk and it sold them fine.

Also, Destroyer Lodestone and so much karma crap. Made 2 gold from unidentifiable objects at least. And I still got my thief to go with his 2 million karma! That's where all my vials and stuff went. All on him. The one that I never play.

I got 25 gold in junk, 1 mini pet, loads of karma back, 30+ lodestones and cores, tonics. 150 shards.

I will say the RNG on that mini pet is something like 1-5%....is crazy RNG, you could use 1 million karma and still not get one, then someone with 10 box's can get 3....

Somewhere between 100-200 boxes (my brain is full of fail tonight) and I got 1 mini, a few lodestones, a few shards, a bunch of karma which I transferred to my guardian so I could get more cultural weapons and then some coin from the trash.  I'm not going to complain!  I stopped when I got the mini since that's what I was after.

One nice thing about the karma you get back...  It's account bound.  So, it's a method of transferring karma between your characters.  Not a 1:1 method, mind you - but still a nice addition.

The chance isn't for the mini...the mini is common as hell and you can't sell it. The chance is for lodestones.

People whine about not having enough stuff to spend karma on, then when they get it they whine that it's just a karma sink. Wtf. You get high priced junk to sell, effectively converting karma directly into coins, you get lodestones which ALSO converts karma to coins, and you get extra karma on top of it to ease the blow in case you were disappointed in the returns. Give me a break.

Yeah, minis are really common as hell. Considering I've opened around 60 boxes and got none. 2 Charged Lodestones, unidentified junk and more karma. And more unid junk and more karma. Until all karma was gone. Yeah, minis are common as hell. Don't get me wrong, it's better than no use at all for all the karma I had. But still, it would have been a little nicer if the drop rates for lodestones / minis were higher. Anyway, I'm happy with all the new additions.

You're also aware that there are new karma items at the temple vendors...exotic backpieces, amulets, rings, earrings, etc. and apparently new armor stats as well. So no, you're not forced to spend karma on "casino" stuff that you didn't have already.

You're obviously never going to be satisfied, so why bother?

They're also account bound, the boxes aren't going anywhere, and you'll probably get one or two on your next round. Yeah you get charged lodestones. Yeah you get a bunch of Junk items worth 50c each. Yeah you get extra karma to try again. Why are you complaining? Before, the karma was piling up on your characters without an outlet. Now you have stuff you can use, or sell.

But yeah, they're common as hell if after 50 boxes I got 2, and that rate has been stated a few times. And I'm not exactly in the Lucky crowd in this game.

And it wasn't the end of the 50 boxes either...the first was my 10th opened. The second was around my 30th.

I'm sure it'd be nice if every box gave a stack of charged lodestones. That would be great, wouldn't it? It's already easier to get lodestones with karma than it is to do anything else. And the rest of it is just fluff. By the time you get all the lodestones you need, you'll have a stack of the minis and you'll be bitching about them being too common.

yea, people whine about not having much to spend karma on. but all anet did to "solve" that problem was give us more of another thing we often complain about- rng. thats their answer to everything these days it seems. if something isnt good enough or doesnt take long enough...add rng to it. brilliant!

I think they did well. From what I hear we have more options for Onyx lodestones, other lodestones are becoming FAR more common and T6 mats can be gotten far more reliably too. It's a very good improvement for legend crafting.

Oh my gawd RNG. You're NOT LOSING ANYTHING. It's not a gamble. Who cares if it's random? EVERY DROP IN THE GAME IS RANDOM. Stop playing video GAMES if you don't like the randomness that makes it a GAME.

And that's not "all" they gave for karma. They gave those trinkets as well. They're the first mass-available exotic-level backpieces in stats that are worth anything. Before that was rare or expensive ascended. And the rest don't cost 5 ecto each just to make the jewelry.

Priorities...get some. You'd have a point if the minis weren't account bound. But they are. You don't need any. I have two, and that's two more than I'll use on a regular basis. I know not everyone's the same. But come on now...they're common enough to get one after a reasonable amount of karma. And when you hear about people with millions of karma...I fail to take pity on someone who doesn't get one the first time out.
