First off, I don't know if this is the proper place for this, but here it goes.
The new Temple of Grenth event has been killing people en masse every time I've done it, and I think I figured out a way to avoid being brutally dropped out of the sky. While I was standing on one of the coffins in the Temple, I was not subject to the effect. We need to get off the ground and fight from up high.
Can anyone else confirm this?
The new Temple of Grenth

Yep, been there done that. Two Anet Devs were in the fight too so I'm thinking they are aware.

I was in there with a large group after the update and also enjoyed being repeatedly dropped from the ceiling. I did notice that the priest raises his staff over his head and swings it around prior to the skyfall skill. I also managed to avoid the affect by staying elevated via the stairs or climbing on top of the coffins. However, asking the entire group to fight from such restricted geography is not what I think the developers had hoped to accomplish. We attempted grenth probably 6 or 7 times and never once defeated the priest.

Map chat was ALIVE with this last night. Much rage was had.
I dunno, I'm the more patient, trusting kind. It's day one of the patch...give em a few hours to fix it, sheesh.
Diessa and Wayfarer had this bug where it would kick you and roll back every 6-7 minutes. it happened 5 or 6 times and we left to another zone.
an hour later " a new update will begin in 3 mins"
after that, it was fixed. Pretty quick imho
Anyway, I'm sure they will fix Grenth. The bigger problem for me, was the Nerf to the arah contested battle. The High Wizard seemed really wimpy...he just kinda stood there.
I'm all for making impossible content 'possible' but nerfing things into easy mode is not good.

I don't think Grenth is working as intended from what I saw yesterday. Killing 10+ players in one fell swoop, sometimes with next to no warning felt really cheap. I'm sure it'll be tweaked soon.
On another note, I'm really digging the revamped Orr. Kudos ANet!

Was on Sanctum of Rall for the first confirmed Grenth kill. He can definitely be taken down. I'm not sure what everyone was doing, but I know as a grenadier engie working at max range I was able to pound him with damage the whole battle with only a couple of downs.
I'm not sure he needs tweaking based on my experiences last night. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing to have an enormously difficult boss in the game that requires specific, tailored tactics to defeat.
Being on higher ground does help by the way.

Everyone can trait damage reduction when falling, too.

From the last game update:
Seems like they addressed the issue.

- Increased cooldown on Grenth's Shadow Pull skill
- Changed radius of spells
- Modified attacks to do less damage
