Dwayna boss is still absolutely awful. Was hoping to finally beat her today. Nope, sparks are better but still awful, they become guided on ai like ranger pets which just makes them awful.

The problem is that Dwayna keeps going invisible at 50% health all the time, so there seems to be no way to get past it, as just will just constantly do it each time you reach 50% thus never being able to get her under 50% health.

WTB dungeon completion.

Its gotten to the point where I think I'd rather just pay gold to get this dungeon completed.

So to all others, let this be a warning, if you haven't been able to Dwayna before, don't expect any major to changes to allow you to beat her now.

Many hours wasted.

Oh darn looks like you'll have to work for your DM title after all.

Let players without pets, summons or minions kite the sparks.

The priestess' first invisibility is health-based, but all the following invisible phases are time-based.
If it seems like you cannot put a dent in her you have to:
- imprison the sparks faster, as it will give her less time to heal while she's invisible.
- do more damage during the combat-phase.

There are plenty of guides around on the internet on how to achieve this. Just steer clear from the guides that rely on her being vulnerable while invisible: that is no longer the case.

Minions don't aggro anymore sparks, just so you know.

Get her to 50%. Guide 4 sparks to their spots and let the health of the boss regen. Bring her to 50% again. guide one spark to any spot and the boss will appear. At that point, DPS, lots of DPS.

Get a mesmer with timewarp with you if you can, that helps a lot at the last stage. to help yourself even more, use potions and any other method to do more damage against risen.

It is still the only path that you NEED a DPS oriented party. Best with warriors/guardians and a mesmer.as long as they dps hard.

It is also advisable to lock her in a corner of the island outside of the cave. and prepare by laying about 20-30 tears at that location. also choose one person to be the main thrower.

Good luck.

Not sure how people can have so much trouble with this boss. I did it with: GS Warrior, M/S Warrior, GS Guardian, Staff Ele, Dagger Necro.

And this was before they fixed all the bugs. We did it on the third try, and the fight took us ~10min.

Maybe you just need to get better at the game before you can finish it?

Dwayna... Not so hard.

Was expecting a lot more... but...
Its impossible to wipe (Seriously, our first attempt was shit, Our dps sucked and we couldnt break the 50% barrier. We went at it for 10 minutes before giving up and resetting. Next attempt we won it with only 3 stealths occurring).
The sparks nearest the water are easy to grab with 1 person, if everyone else is on the other side of the room, you can grab them and line them up easy.
You can get 4 sparks in, reset it, and she will still be up. Grab 1 to break stealth.

We did it with 2 Half DPS warriors, 2 support eles, 1 stealth thief.

Thing is, you just need a little practice at getting the sparks in. Then its all fine.

Fixed what bug? The one that sparks did not follow the first attacker, or even before the stealth invulnerability thing. Just asking. because there is actually no bug they need to fix. Because the system was reacting as programmed.

Lets just say that the boss is a bit harder to take down now. After-all the fix did not make it easier, it made it harder. Currently the boss is invulnerable during stealth, so you have no way to slow down her regeneration, as i guess you probably did since it was the most preferred way to do that boss at the time.

Nope. We didn't DPS the boss nor did we do the 4-1 tactic. We killed her at the statue and had one person on tears that we had gathered before the fight. When sparks came up two of us ran to a corner (where the tears were) and two got the sparks.

Remember this was back in October. Not a lot of groups had completed DM and there weren't really any established tactics for dungeons, and much more so for P4 which was considered the hardest one.

We just did what made sense to us.

Even then. At this point the boss is no longer doable with any team setup. If it is not a dps party, forget it. There were groups who previously made it through but had to change team setup entirely because of the changes made since.

though things should be a tiny bit better now since the sparks now follow the original attacker better. But still harder than it was in October.
