We do plan on adding more stat combo to existing ascended item types as well as adding more stat combos to new types.

Wow just as I was about to spend 250 ecto's...plus 2300 relics....20 pristine relics...and loads of other materials to upgrade rings....and backpiece..I read your post...

I fricking could kiss you right now....just saved me a world of hurt.

Anet need to sort this crap out... I mean how many people are going to rage after spending all these resources and finding out they could of got the stat types they wanted all along...

They should never have released it without all the stat types or they should of atleast communicated this months ago....

I agree on the crafting talk.

I've been crafting in Lineage 2 and WoW.
In both games recipes require somewhat the same amount of mats that GW2 require, the difference is that in L2/WoW there is a place where you can farm those items - while in GW2 there isn't.
You simply cannot "do it yourself", which is in my opinion the fun behind crafting - you need to rely on TP a lot.

So basically it comes down to buying stuff and piecing it together into one item you wanted, that isn't really "crafting".

On the bright side, this system is great for emptying the market of extra items.
If rares wouldn't be needed to get ectos/exotics for instances, the market would be filled with them as almost nobody buy rares.

Quite few... seing as not much people have 250 ecto's, let alone 2300 relics.

I agree with you though.

This is actually untrue. It can be quite easy to farm crafting mats - it's simply a matter of learning which types of mobs will drop what sort of items and which zones the different tiers drop in. I'm currently sitting on about a third of a stack of each tier 6 fine mat (gained in the past two weeks) thanks to knowing which enemy mobs to look for and which zones to get the T6 stuff from.

I simply don't understand why ANET started the ascended gear with a small amount of stats, but doubling the number of gear with the offensive/defensive infusion slot. This is simply useless. Not a lot of people will spend about 14 gold for 5 more stats point, and they even created two gear for 5pts of offensive stats or 5pts of defensive stats. This is just ridiculous.

Yeah the infusion system is the worst upgrade system iv ever seen in an mmo. Also not worth the cost.

Iv seen a crap load of players with fully upgraded ascended stuff, I know loads have those sorts of materials, even if you play casual and do one fractal a day you would be hitting the amount needed for these round about now since fractals came out months ago. I know players that upgraded the items because they did not have the stat choices they wanted, so they changed the builds or just went with the next best thing...now for them they will feel like they got screwed and all the materials wasted.

The problem is that you incur in DR if you do so.

Not really. Change up where you are every hour and you'll be fine. I've never hit DR in anything but CoF speedruns.
