I watched this movie with a friend.
Dredd(2012)
+ Fairly good Action and lots of it. This is an action movie though do not expect to see any car chasing scenes.
+ Very near scifi or modern world.
+ Beautiful female actor and I liked her.
+ Nasty glimpse with partial nudity(though you really can not see from the blurry scene of a criminals dream.
+ Judge Dredd ok... though not super good.
+ There is a slight twist in the story when you expect the cops to send reinforcements.. good one.
- If you expect to see super cool enemies then you are going to be disappointed. Mama the leader was ok, but none including her was really cool.
- never becomes epic or really good.
My vote: 7/10 good movie!

My friend rated the movie to 6.5/10 as ok/good. We do share taste regarding Doomsday(2008) which is Action movie
that we both rate as 9/10 classic! At the end of the day Dredd(2012) is good solid entertainment for me and it only takes 95 min so good if you do not have time for a long movie and want to do also other things.
I watched this movie again this time with with my SCIFI fan friend that also likes Action and a bit Horror(if it is good).
Well Dredd(2012) is still solid good entertainment to me and this time rated it 7.25/10 and my friend rated it to 7/10. Slightly unrealistic but down to earth fairly realistic scifi. The unrealistic part is the Dredd is almost like a Terminator with self healing etc. though not undefeatble.

After that we watched
Thor: The Dark World(2013)
+ Good Effects not low budget. One reason not so low rated really good effects if you watch it in cinema environment. We had very large screen.
+ Action.
+ The very end scenes(after final fight and fight over) before final text has a good plot twist. After the final texts there is also one funny/interesting scene. Thank god the scenes before endscene existed othewise story would have been very predictable and cliche.
- Realistic plot? OMG not even near realistic forget that Dredd is much more down to earth SCIFI.
- Chaotic.
- Small annoying details.
- Sigh the Drow in this movie have almost NOTHING in common with Dungeons Dragons Drow!
What is same?
+ Drow are evil.
+ Drow have a long lifespan in this movie and can live many thousands of years.
What is NOT same?
- Females they are not leaders and almost of none of them are seen. Very male dominated drow in this movie.
- Nothing seen of sadism that Drow should have!
- Nothing seen of sexual lust or attractive females.. Drow are known to be more lustful and willing to mate then good Elves you can multiply that with 1000 times at least. Drow are even known to have breeding orgies in DD world.
- No dark Deity worshipping or ritual sacrifice. In DD world the majority worships Lolth the Spider Queen:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolth
My vote: 6,75 good movie!

My friend rated Thor: The Dark Movie to 6/10 ok movie. Thor The Dark World was a disspointment to me but still rate this better then some crap with The Avengers(2012). The Avengers(2012) is 3/10 to me crap and I really dislike the actor Robert Downey Jr.

Final words of Thor... if I would had not so high expectations of the Drow enemy I would perhaps rated it higher. Anyway Dredd is more my kind of the movie then Thor.

Eh I am not your son, but it is nice someone else comments.

No not trolling I told my personal opinion. It is same thing like that when Tolkien book fans complain about the Hobbit movies. I talked with my friend that is ultrahardcore Tolkien fan and he was not disturbed a Forest Elf(very different from High Elf) could be affected by alcohol. However he did not like the added scenes and the fact that female elf could be even remotely romantically attracted to a male dwarf.

Anyway on to topic. I am Salvatore book fan. His oldest books described how the Drow live deep under earth. Granded those that flee Drow civilazation and go live above ground can act very differently. Neverwinter MMO that I play more or less have Drow as playable race but in that case it assumes that you are one of those who do not belong to the Underdark old drow community.

Everything I told is described in the books written by R.A Salvatore. R.A Salvatore is likely the most famous of all authors that has written books with Wizards of the Coast approval. He has also been many times New York Times bestseller.

Drow in underdark do not even have a word like "love" in their language. They do have words and behavior like lust and sex. Drow in underdark get much more children then other elves but since they are militaristic and have brutal clan wars also among themselves where often also children are killed cruelly they do not explode to much in population.

Drow do sometimes get married, but typical reasons are favorite lover and/or marriage for power/wealth.

Finally Dark Elf(Drow) as race did not exist in Tolkien books. Please do not compare normal elves to Drow and  their culture is very different.

Do not compare the drow from DnD to the Dark Elves in Marvel mythos. Drow were originally created from the trow or troll(which do have their root in the Norse Dark Evles) and have been heavily fictionalized beyond their origins. These Dark Elves are not based on the R. A. Salvatore/DnD interpretations of them and are their own unique bastardization for Thor with thier base lore derived from the original Norse legends. The fact that they did not live up to your very specific and unrelated expectations is not the fault of the movie, its creators, or Marvel.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

This.. I just dun' get this movie, the punch lines must be on a whole other level for me, and i .. don't know, love it, hate it? The first Anchorman had a little more common sense , this one .. this one reminds me of that famous line from Tropic Thunder :" Everybody knows you never go full retard." { Kirk Lazarus, God bless'im }
Anyway, by far my favourite part of the movie :

Iron Man 3 - 3/10

I found the movie very bland and boring really. Didn't even try and do anything different... just went down the same old boring, tired, cliche route with it's villain and how the whole thing played out. Was not worth the rental IMO. The series is played out and dead IMO. If they try and make an IM4... they better do something bloody spectacular & different. I also found thew acting as a whole... lacking, like the actor's themselves weren't really getting into it either... which did not help.

I  can understand you. Personally I have decided not to see any more movies with that main actor.

Now in personal life I don't care about that actor for all I care he can live a happy long life. That said I simply dislike him as actor and it has evolved to disgust. Anyway first time I got annoyed with that actor was in the first Sherlock Holmes movie he was main actor in. I mean most in my country which have fairly good English language skills compared to many other European countries and most in my country do not understand even 50% of what he said in Sherlock Holmes movie without subtitles it is very annoying. He can speak more clearly but even in Iron Man 1 he had a habit to every now and then whisper except when holding speeches.

Oh and Buddhakeks I got you personal long email and apology. Thanks no worries I am to lazy to respond to personal messages, but anyway in my return I do apologize the teasing reference to Hitler since you are from Germany. Actually in second World War Finland was allied with Germany and Stalin the Russian leader killed millions of people.

Anyway while this is a movie thread I will begin to see this TV series:
The Americans (2013– )
http://www.imdb.com/...ref_=ttmd_md_nm
"Two Soviet intelligence agents pose as a married couple to spy on the American government."
Spoiler
So my post have some review I actually think Iron Man 1 was slightly original and rate that movie to 7/10 good movie though I still did not like the main male actor.

Robert Downey Jr.

i disliked this actor before iron man, maybe because he seems disingenuous in all of his acting roles.
but my dislikes for his acting got mild after seeing him in iron man, probably because disingenuity matches with the character; tony stark.

Last I saw was Dallas Buyers Club, 6.8/10.

One of my top movies would be:
Prisoners 10/10
Curious Case of Benjamin Button 10/10
Inception 10/10
Lord of The Rings Trilogy 10/10
Schindler's List 9/10
Meet Joe Black 8/10
This is just a few of movies I think that are good, there are ofc plenty more that would get an 10 from me, can't think of them right now but I will update my post, tommorow when I'm bored@work
and a really good documentary series: Men Who Build America i watched them over and over like 5 times. Can't get enough of it :)

Paranormal Activity 4 - 4/10

If you have seen PA 1-3 you have seen PA 4. Same formular, not much new and it actually felt tamer then the other 3 to me. The characters were bland, the protagonist's male friend was kinda entertaining, the rest was forgetable, just like the whole film.

Anyway on to topic:
Wrong Turn 5(2012)
+ Some female nudity.
+ Basic horror theme
Neutral: Average actors. They did not disturb me, but neither was I impressed. I felt the actors were chosen more due to looks then to skill but that is ok and none of them annoyed me either though movie lacked some super actors.
- Nothing new to this genre. I think Wrong Turn 4 is perhaps worst movie of these but it begins to feel repeating theme. Yawn.
My vote: 6/10 ok movie!

Wrong Turn 1 was indeed very good movie to me like 8/10 at least.

Just a reminder: NO political discussion is allowed on these boards. None at all. Discussing politics "not too deeply" is still not allowed.

Hopefully that clears things up.

Also Stargate if you could stop posting really weird stuff and putting a youtube video in every post that would be great. I let the fact that you talk about nudity in almost every post slide but it's getting to be a little much.

You are fooling yourself, user. Nothing here is what it seems. ANet is not the plucky hero, Guru is not an evil empire, and this is not the grand arena.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 9.7/10

I'm not a big fan of the character. Cap is just boring and a bit too "in your face" patriotic for my taste, but I liked CA: The First Avenger. In my opinion one of the weaker MCU films, but still important for the overall plot and as more of a war movie also something different from your typical super-hero flick.
That said CA 2 was not only vastly better than the first part, but also easily one of the best MCU movies yet. Phase 2 has been good to us so far, with maybe Thor 2 being a bit of a low, but that one had it's moments. Suprisingly I liked CA 2 even better than Iron Man 3, despite prefering Tony Stark as a character over Steve Rogers, and I also liking RDJ's performance more than Luke Evan's (not that he was bad, he's a really talented actor).
What gives CA 2 the advantage is the fantastic plot, the polit-thriller feel and the great supporting cast. I can't go into detail on it, the twist is so phenomenal (even if somewhat obvious to comic fans) that spoiling it would be a sin (a "cinmea sin", if I might call it that :P).
My brain is already coming up with one theory after the other thinking how great this leads into Avengers 2. Why is there always so much time between these films?! I need Guardians of the Galaxy to get my mind on something else!

And as always, stay for the after credit scenes, worth it every time.

You do know these posts are under "Madness Incarnate"? Second of all yes there are lots of people who do not want matter of "fact" explanations. I find all modern art paintings wierd and could not care less about them. That said there are lots of people who want modern art. A picture can be sometimes like a thousand words. A video well perhaps not always so clearly understood but more interesting way to tell.

I like posting interesting stuff. I am sorry you find it wierd stuff, but I can  slightly relate to the feeling because if I go to a modern art show I really do not like or understand the modern art.

Look I have nothing against the so called "real fact" news I do follow what happens in Ukraine crisis, sport news and if I want to know about computer hardware then there are www.tomshardware.com and other websites with more matter of fact news.  That I said I assumed Madness Incarnate was also for more "odd" things and more freedom of speech.

Thanks for the review even though I have learned that you like super hero movies extremely much at least slightly more then me usually. I have 2 cinema tickets that are getting old fairly soon. I have not yet decided, but I will likely see Captain America, Need for Speed or 300: Rise of an Empire.

TV movie The Beast(1996)
+ One bikini scene with two beautiful girls. To bad it was short.
+ Thriller more or less.
+ Fairly ok movie quality on screen not to old in that way. Dvd quality.
- gets boring
- Feels old slow paced movie.
My vote: 5.5/10 average/ok movie.

I rather watch TV series then this kind of movies. That said I am disappointed with what The Vampire Diaries and Lost Girl TV series have become in later seasons. Finally Game of Thrones while good is one of the most overrated TV series that exist on IMDB.

Currently I watch realistic cops TV series Rookie Blue and I like it much more then crap overrated Dexter. Rookie Blue TV series is to me 7/10 solid good and quite realistic cop TV series, but it is about rookies fresh from academy that start their career and also about their private life.
