As Gerroh said, every class can do that.
Classes that have a harder time in the earlier levels are Mesmers and Engineers (and some say Elementalists), classes that have it remarkably easy are warrior, ranger and guardian.
So basically, pick any class you like, you can farm well with every class once 80, every class has DPS builds, and every class can support one way or the other (though I think Ranger, Thief and Necro aren't the prime supporters, correct me if I'm wrong).
How to support varies greatly from class to class, the best you can do is roam around the different class forums and look for support / build threads.

Warrior and Guardian are extremely easy (and if you later decide you will easily get into dungeon groups).
Ranger is also very easy to play (could get harder at the end)
Mesmer is for example very hard for the start, elemantalist is a little bit easier but also hard to start with, engineer also said to be not that easy to start with.
Rest is bit in between in my opinion.

All you need is a greatsword and 10 points in arms to completely wreck pve. At later levels you'll have enough expertise to start working with different builds.

Why Warrior over Guardian? Been watching videos and see warrior taking lots of damage in some. Also wouldnt Guardian staff be better at tagging mobs in Orr events with its frontal cone AoE?

Warrior G.S. has a low rechrage whirl attack, which os great for tagging. That being said, guardian is pretty much AS good for tagging, but does quite a bit less damage. Neither is particularly squishy if you build them right, but warrior can be non-squishy even as DPS, whereas guardian pretty much has to be built to last since it has an extremely low natural health pool. At the top level, you'll be struggling to even break 16k HP on a guardian (that might be WITH full cleric gear and 30 points in the vitality stat).

I leveled my Ranger to 80th with sub-par gear, and terrible traiting without any issue. The key was my Polar Bear. Huge tanky Polar Bear made solo PvE simple......
....and boring. Most non-enjoyable leveling experience to date in my opinion.

I have one toon of each class. Necro is pretty good, probably in third place on my list behind Ranger and Warrior. Those were the two "easy-mode" classes for me. My Mesmer is lv29 and so far it kills stuff pretty fast.
Both my wife and daughter play Necro, Ranger and Warrior. They really like it when pets/demons do all the work lol

It's true that both warrior and guardian are very solid for pve, but the warrior has a decent defense and hp, while dishing out far more burst damage, meaning pve encounters go faster.
Guardians can be quite invaluable in dungeons, but in solo play they perform subpar to the warrior. Warriors dps is also always appreciated in dungeons.
