There are a lot of great WvW guilds but only a small handful that could be considered elite and recognized server wide. I'd like to honour this small elite and ask others to nominate contenders.

Criteria
- the guild has singlehandedly made the reputation of a server, or destroyed it when leaving
- known across multiple servers for skill and/or presence

The question marks are for guilds that I think should be in there, but would like to hear others' thoughts. Ultimately this hall of fame is intended to be really really small. Probably less than 10 guilds for guilds both past and present.

Hall of Fame

WM - War Machine pretty much put SBI on the map with their quality of play and it was quite distinctive for anyone whenever you went up against them in coordination and whoopass. They also caused SBI to tank and depart from T1 very rapidly

RUIN - Love them or hate them, this was a massive zerg force that defined ET when ET could still be considered T1 and a contender to unseat HoD. What RUIN lacked in leadership or skill they made up for in sheer numbers and determination and without them, the joke that was the Ascencion Alliance would have barely been a footnote. Now a much smaller force on BG as most members have departed for PlanetSide 2 a real WvW game ;), At one point RUIN singlehandedly spawn camped SoS. One guild. An entire server. Full disclosure - I used to run with this zerg.

PRX - Think a lot of us know The Professionals. They definitely deserve to be in here having been the backbone of Titan Alliance and made multiple servers successful, most recently putting SoS on the map and covering their NA weakness. They also have a long successful history of PvP in other games and conduct that befits their name, Not to mention massive threads about them that are still going ;)

CND? - Condemned may not have been nearly as prominent as PRX and are now long gone, but I think they deserve to be here just founding the Titan Alliance and pulling off what they set out to do. However on the open field and actually in combat, what do you guys think?

TSYM? - Not entirely sure these guys should be hall of fame but they're close, SoS never really had it together and were still (barely) beat by Fort Aspenwood until these guys arrived from Dragonbrand and SoS seemed to magically get their shit together. However, don't know the history enough to really say they had *that* much impact, or maybe they were just one of many core guilds i.e with their butt-buddies MERC ;) that helped make SoS T1 material.

Any others you guys should be nominated? keep in mind this is a best of the best list.

HB - all the QQ they stirred up with their "turtles" made Anet  nerf AoEs to only hit 5 targets

Mmm I believe this thread may have the potential to create more drama and get locked faster than even the old "Tier of Tears" T1 threads.

I guess I will bite regardless! I have to disagree with your reasoning for WM they did not define Stormbluff, they were a powerful force but they were not at all the defining guild of the server there were many others who left the game and or broke up that caused the server's eventual downfall. War Machine was/is a great and powerful guild but they were not the reason SBI was on the map, only half of it.

Strike Force would love to fight and beat these guys in open field combat someday. If they read this please transfer to a server JQ is going to be fighting. If not then I guess we will see you when actual GvG is added to this game.

NOW FOR MY OWN NOMINEES!
Lords of Death [LoD], Everyone who plays in the higher tiers knows of the "Pain Train" or the "Hammer Train". This guild developed it and this guild fielded it first with probably one of the most devastating open field combat teams this game has ever known. Combined with the great leadership of their commander Psylonx, [LoD] was the team you ran from when you saw them, even if your zerg had 3 times their numbers.

lol already it seems like we need a new criteria to be added. If your guild made Anet nerf something ;)

Hmm maybe not.. there are gonna be guilds that are gonna be known for originate tactics over time that add to the meta, but are they completely dominant over time or can they carry or basically make/break a server? thats more hall of fame material.  The unique tactic thing might be the WvW equivalent of one-hit-wonder unless they are basically constantly feared by other guilds  If RG, HB or LoD left their respective servers would they collapse?

Thanks for the suggestions guys keep'em coming

Just to pick my 5 inaugural inductees, in no particular order...

[WM]
[HB]
[Tsym]
[LoD]
[SF]

[WM] because of their impact on the game in general..tactics, and ability to lead PUGs.

[HB] The first guild I have fought that combines large numbers with excellence and pulls it off. I don't care for the abuse of culling and rendering, but that is just a fact of WvW nowadays. I don't think these [HB] guys really NEED to rely on that, though. They are good without it.

[Tsym] A large guild, central to it's community, shows good tactics, class, and sportsmanship.

[LoD] A not so large guild, but large impact. A guild with determination, and creativity. Defined the "Hammer Train". Had a huge impact on server community, also.

[SF] A guild that combines excellence, courage, and determination, even in the face of unwinnable odds.  Always friendly and upbeat. A great community guild as well as WvW guild.

RUIN????

Are you *ing kidding me.....they abused the crap out of server transfers system, almost destroyed populations in Eu WvW servers by mass recruiting and then server jumping to the winning server when they lose.

They are the most pathetic guild in GW2.

The only way they now how to win is jumping to another timezone and then clogging up one servers WvW que's....lose and then server jump to the winning side.

Oh we can't win US WvW so will jump to EU to bash on doors for weeks to get to tier 1....then we lose against Tier1....so we just server transfer to the winning side that kicked our butts...

Sure ....really skilled and great guild...lmfao..

RUIN get the top spot in the worst top then guilds of all time.

I agree [SF] Strike Force are awesome. But for right now with the 15 to 20+ zerk my vote goes to [RG].

Note that I think every induvidual effort any Jade Quarry person puts in WvW should be rewarded, just a shame that right now the game encourages more the quantity. Anyway I still have a lot of fun playing :)

Correct. The only thing that's going to come of this is people yelling at each other about how the guild they mentioned is garbage and so on and so on.

Not to mention that a Hall of Fame is a little premature for a game that's only been out for as long as GW2 has.

You are fooling yourself, user. Nothing here is what it seems. ANet is not the plucky hero, Guru is not an evil empire, and this is not the grand arena.
