Would you go back to experience the lower level areas with the new Dynamic Leveling Adjustment?

I noticed this blog from Izzy:

https://www.guildwar...m_source=client

I still don't find the lower level areas appealing as not all the higher level rewards are there.  For example, the gathering nodes are still lower tier.

Furthermore, I didn't notice any better rewards from there.  Does anyone feel differently?

What do you think?

I've noticed an improvement in the rewards but it's not consistent. Still, I prefer being in the lowbie areas, partly because they're more alive and partly because I'm sick of those Risen cretins shoving their smelly feet in my face in just about every high level zone >< As far as gathering is concerned... I'm fine with the low level mats. After all, they're needed to level crafting if we decide to change.

I do wish they'd add some challenging high level things to all the zones though. Maybe randomly spawning "mini dungeons", or certain "heroic" dynamic events (Red_Falcon has a thread in the sugestions section regarding this), why not even phased "heroic" world boss instances accessed by gathering certain mats in the zone to create a "summoning stone" of sorts with limited charges (say 15, one per person) for guilds.

I've been going back through lower level areas even before this change.  The only thing keeping people from doing this before was the idea that going back to a lower level area was a "waste of time" in a game all about "wasting time"

It's easier to do my dailies in lower level zones as opposed to higher level zones. In-between dungeon runs I am just trying to fill out my map.

All the events in Ruins of Orr are pretty boring and no one bothers with the meta events due to the bosses being broken and crappy rewards. I'll take dragons and the Megadestroyer any day.

If they added the reputation system wow had, so everything you do in that area gives points to a reputation stand with that area, so you can go to that areas vendor and get special items, titles and w/e, sure.

If they added named mobs, mobs that spawn quite rarely but do, with amazing but not overpowered drops, maybe awesome skins/rare materials, then sure.

Just something to actually make each area feel special, other than their visual looks. Because quite honestly, that became boring after I finished my personal storyline and hearts.

i would love named mobs that drop unique skin. that's what gw1 had and it was very cool to come across these mobs. sadly, they've explicitly said they don't want to do that, because it would lead to people camping the spawns to get the items to sell for cash. so yeah :\

In low level areas after killing mobs I mostly get items that are worth 30c at the most (90% of the drops), while in high level areas after killing mobs I mostly get items that are worth above 90c (90% of the drops). What it is really unappealing to me in high level areas are things like taking back the temple of grenth, which is most of the time a fail, takes a lot of time, takes a lot of people who know what to do around and for me personally it is unrewarding, unless you think that doing all that should be rewarded with blues and when I'm really lucky with some greens. Never got a rare at Grenth? Nope.
Dragons now - participated in all dragon events and here's what I got : one rare from the Tequatl end chest. That's it and I've been doing them every chance I got in all this time since the release of the game. So no temples or dragons for me, since they are in my experience a big waste of time (as someone said earlier - everything's a waste of time in this game, but at least, when doing Penitent / Shelter I get 2-3g / hour or more, while doing the dragons or taking back the temples 90% of the time "rewards" me with blues / greens).
Lately I've been playing at least one hour / day in low level areas and I can say that beside the gathering nodes, which ofc are low level, I don't feel that things changed much. I still get 2c worth trophees, I still get blues at the best from killing let's say a champion and most of the time I get a worthless blue (by worthless I understand something that's worth 10-30c) and I still have the one shot feeling when killing mobs. But I won't complain about any of those things, because I honestly play in low level areas cause I simply like stuff around and I'm sometimes sick of hearing same old "Death...good..." line. If I want rewards, I'll go farm some high level areas, if I want fun, I'll go in low level areas.
In my opinion, I don't know what they're trying to do, but I know there's really not much of a balance between events / rewards. A massive event that takes so much time and people such as taking back the Temple of Balthazar (from the beginning and up to the last step) should be better rewarded than let's say doing the common Penitent / Shelter farm. I think that's why most of the time on my server Temple of Balthazar is contested - I don't know that many people who are willing to go through all that "pain" for a couple of blues, and everytime they take back the temple, it's because they need shards or that specific karma armor (same thing for the temple of Grenth). I don't like to keep me busy for one hour trying to take back a temple over and over again and after that hour I get a crap end chest with a bunch of blues in it. After doing it so many times and getting that shit, I decided I just shouldn't do that kind of events anymore. Dragons are in the same position. All because I don't mind the time or the effort, but because of the rewards. I wouldn't expect precursor drops or anything too fancy, but blues / greens everytime it's just...unrewarding and not worth of my time.
So I stand by my words : if I want rewards, I play in high level areas, if I want fun, I play in low level areas.

Sorry to say, but I think their reasonings are quite poor. When I played Aion, no one camped the spawns. Because they are so rare that they have no idea when to camp the spawns. And what do you know? Make the skins soulbound, so people can't sell them?

There are so many ways around this, and I can't quite understand why anet chooses to scrap these fun little things about what this game could offer. They're too fixtated on "justice for everyone." I know it is a casual mmorpg, but come on...

I went through the low lvl areas before the change and honestly, this is the first MMO, where I enjoyed getting back to low lvl zones. It's true that I wanted to acomplish 100% map, but still it was fun. Nowadays I'm returning there to get my daily achievs done quick.

About the drops -  I didn't notice any big change. Still I get some low lvl drops for 20c, but whatever. I'm not doing it for cash ;)

Agreed here. Though for me personally, I still have a hard time going to areas with enemies I can kill with one auto attack chain. I wonder how things would work out if the areas were made more punishing with even further equal level rewards...

Everything is still about ore and the new daily and monthly didnt change athing about it. Not sure what the comming patches will bring but if they dont fix it in lower areas they will stay empty. In that case the better start working on releasing a expansion after summer beceause fact remains ore sucks, depressing place. Lol
