Hands down best post made yet.

I always have the most fun weekends because this is the only time everyone has full maps and thus the only time WvW is not a numbers game. Then the weekdays come and you see servers with numerical advantages slowly, (sometimes quickly) but surely pull ahead.

If Anet is smart they will wait until the dust of their paid transfers settles and then begin offering targeted free transfers from high pop servers to low pop servers. Everyone always complained that free transfers had to stop, but few stating the real reason why; if servers had even pops WvW would be so much better.

Truth.

There are creative ways they could change the whole wvw system but that would be a pointless discussion because it's abundantly clear they aren't going to do it for the foreseeable future. One thing they did do early on was change the scoring tick to slow down the score. It did tighten up the scores. Maybe they should look into another adjustment. Hear dat Anet?

Do you serious think I'm trying to make a 'rep for myself' on a gaming forum?!?!  Do you really feel I'm trying to make a 'rep' for myself in a video game?!!  I'll leave that for the internet fame club people like you.

View PostImpmon, on 10 February 2013 - 08:54 PM, said:

BTW know anyone who had a rep in EQ ?  What about Shadowbane... what about Ultima Online... or DAOC ?  Thats right nobody cares & their rep in a video game doesn't mean jack sh-- and neither will yours.

To be fair, it's not uncommon for mmo companies to hire based on their video game rep at all and FoH is/was proof of that.  Something about well known guilds/players in EQ being hired by a company named blizzard to make a silly MMO comes to mind.

Unlikely? Very.  But there is precedent.  I just couldn't ignore the jabs at e-rep when in reality for better or worse, it does actually matter to some people.

And Shiren?  You've earned enough e-rep to have man babies with me.  It's almost worth it to sift through pages of shit to discover your gems.

Question for you JQ, SoR, even BG and SBI players still reading this thread. Who are the most effective / annoying small team guilds you see regularly on SoS, if there even any left? I've sorta been looking more for this style of play, but of course, it's hard to assess guilds that are mostly under the radar and few guild leaders are honest about their numbers, strengths, weakness, etc. Honest and candid responses would be greatly appreciated.

On that note, with JQ doing a complete 180 on the camp control / yaks, and even SoR doing a pretty good job at it at times, I've pretty much concluded that if SoS doesn't get better in that department we won't even be competitive in T2. Everyone has become so obsessed with building a better zerg guild it seems, and we are not taking care of the basics.

the [DoP], or [Doop] guild runs a 5ish man havoc team on SoS and they are really good. Sorry i don't remember the exact guild tag we just call them Doop in our mumble if we come across them. I know i've seen others I just can't think of their guild tags.

I haven't really noticed any in particular, mostly "one zerg, one place", but I am sure there must be some that I just didn't pick up on.

I'll keep an eye out, because these are my favorite types of guilds.....like mine. :)

The SOR FEAR zerg is the most annoying as their strategy is the make an enormous zerg and lag you out & run around trying to flip keeps while lagging people & once they wipe they rage quit the map and don't come back.

Aren't you a blackgate player ?

Currently in JQ vs SoS vs SoR all Borderland have a queue in NA primetime. so.....

Excellent post. The juxtaposition between SoS and JQ before and after transfer deadline day is interesting. Many of your comments would equally apply by switching the words SoS and JQ when considering  the 9 week winning streak of SoS. I think that things will balance out after awhile. Too many non GW2 distractions if WvW becomes boring.

And this is why you guys no longer belong in T1, you lose the fighting spirit now that your server isn't a sure win every week.  Hopefully SoR steps it up and stops playing friendly with SoS and realizes so long as they do, they will place 3rd and will eventually be pushed out of T1 because SoS is able to push slight leads on SoR.  So my question is, how bad does SoR want to stay in T1? I personally like fighting SoR in T1 and hope they get their heads out of their asses and fight to stay in T1.

We're talking about "overtime" right? Not putting in "overtime" indefinitely means you lack fighting spirit? So if these guys played for a mere 8 hours yesterday and plan to play for a mere 8 hours today, they lack fighting spirit because they didn't play and plan to play for 14 hours?

You, good Sir, are an asshat.

While it is true that the occasional actual person shows up here from time to time, it is clear that someone tossed the forum warrior gremlin in the pool and were now overrun.  JQ trolls win even more graciously than they lost in the past, and quite frankly I have never seen behavior like this in any game, INCLUDING WoW.

My opponents know my feelings on the competition, but as you also know there are a large number of people playing on ALL sides that are only having fun when they are winning.  This makes them downright nasty when they lose.  Combine this with your newest forum coverage, and suffice it to say respectful and constructive has left the building around 11 days ago.

/salute to the TRUE competition over there at JQ.  You know who you are, your the select few that actually wipe us (TSYM) from time to time.  Lets keep it on the field SoS, gonna be a rough couple of matches while we settle into our new role, and engaging these gremlins does not help.

Well this might be a late reply, since I hardly check forums during weekends but I'm not sure about the "no-heart" JQ on weekends, last I checked we gained the lead on Sunday, or maybe even Saturday... iunno, I'm too busy fighting to keep track of scores :\

We got our shit wrecked on Friday though :P That push in JQBL ...zzz...[TW] why must you love us sooo much? :( Good defending attempt @ [FIRE] & [EMP]

Former SBI people know full well what it means to put in overtime. They did it for 2 months, as fewer and fewer players showed up to WvW, they put in more and more OT.

It got to where it was more a job than it was fun. It led to massive burnout, and ultimately to the exodus.

Don't blame ya one bit.
Indo loves garrison, SoR loves being lead by Indo. With a healthy population at his back and that keep in our hands, things can get depressing for the opposition. The old-timers on JQ can vouch for that, back when they used to experience the other side of it.

Super special props to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers [RNGR] of SoS. It takes a special kind of bravery to face the Tempest Wolves sunday night crew open-field in an all ranger guild. Afterwards, there was much discussion in teamspeak.. Was there a plan to being all grouped up and stationary like that? Did you wish to respawn all together? Or, was it simply an Oshit moment for you guys?

My apologies for the mastabatory theme of this post.

Yup. They may improve with time though, if they can keep their numbers up. They have some quality guilds that are experienced and perform well against our groups. However, they also have a lot of groups that just don't have the experience, correct builds and gear for WvW, or organization. I witnessed us rolling over some KN teams when it really shouldn't have been that easy. To their credit though, they've smacked us around a good bit too. It'll take a few weeks to get a good idea of where KN really stands. They've been fun to fight though and I've personally enjoyed this T2 match more than any in a very long time.

Kaineng had no NA organization.  They lived off of the leftovers from oceanics over night pvd00ring.  They had a hard time with Devona's Rest during north american prime time.  War Machine knew this, hence asking for alliances not too long ago.

I have to admit... I'll see Tsym out there and be thinking "Man, not this again!" Then for some odd reason I'm running towards the battle instead of away from it... you all are as fun as you are annoying. And by annoying I mean "Dang it, I just upgraded that camp! Get out!".

Tsym is like a ghost train. You think you want to see it, but when you see it, you poop yourself and never want to see it again. BUT, if you get your courage up, you can charge right at the ghost train and run right through it, but not damage it. Where did it go? Where did all my friends go? It's dark in here mommy! And then the ghost conductor of the ghost train comes and shovels hot ghost coal down your throat and you try to scream, but ghosts come out.

When you wake up, you're back at your keep and it was all a dream... all a dream...

I was on KN for a week, and this is what I had expected.

Because the NA crew was newly formed, and had not had any serious challenges thrown their way, they lacked the learning experiences that would be required in the top tiers.

There are some there with top tier experience, sure....but it will take some time for the whole WvW community to learn and adapt to T1-T2 tactics and strategies.

Jade Quarry:
- Immense amount of people at all times.
   - brings 20-30+ to take camps
   - 8-10 roamers while the other servers "roamers" are 2-3.
- Runs from fights without superior numbers.
- Snipes dolyaks / zergs camps last minute
- Wins by imitating the Chinese while the rest of the world sleeps.

We take camps with 5 most of the time. But if a large group has to resupply we definitely send a group through a camp. But I removed the last part because it's just plain racist. Just because we have 8-10 people roaming doesn't mean it's cause other server's don't have numbers. It's that they don't assign the troops there.

Speaking of which. I got one of those once. I remember it like it was yesterday. Right in the middle of 7th grade Algebra class, BAM! There it was, like the Washington monument covered with a tarp. To make matters worse, it was a day where students were getting randomly picked to come up to the chalkboard to work out problems, and back then I didn't know how to think about boogers or baseball or something to reverse the flow. Thankfully, the Gods only meant to mess with me that day, and I was never called to the board.
