I don't know of any.  But I'd be curious if anyone knows.  If it's someone who might be famous in one country or amongst certain people, please explain who this person is and how they are famous.  And how we might know this person plays GW2, if possible.

I'd be curious to find out..........

If I remember correctly Kristian Nairn, the guy who plays Hodor in Game of Thrones had given out some beta keys once pre release, so there's one dude who had at least played at some point :P

Chris Kluwe, an avid gamer and punter for the Minnesota Vikings, tried GW2 after release but I don't know if he still plays.

I play...I am famous among my friends, does that count?

But no seriously I have no idea. The Chris Kluwe thing is a cool fun fact even if I hate the Vikings.

Dulfy is only famous cause she is a chick.

I have no idea. I do know that both Sasha Grey and Maria Ozawa played GW1 though.

Interesting discussion and all but could we please not label people who have a youtube channel "famous"? I mean seriously - the question was whether any celebs famous in one or more countries plays the game.

To give some examples of who plays World of Warcraft supposedly:

Mila Kunis
Macaulay Culkin
Vin Diesel
Dave Chapelle

to name a few.

But Woodenpotato? Really?

Felicia day had a gameplay-video on youtube for he secret world. I don't know about GW2, but I really think she doesn't play. She did the voice of zojja though.

Rikki Simons, the voice of GIR from Invader Zim (as well as some of the artwork for the show too) and his wife, Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons both play GW2.  Met them at a convention and somehow we ended up talking about Guild Wars 2.  It was pretty awesome.

Btw - what happened with all the Youtube personalities that were quite vocal about GW2 before the launch? I remember guys such as TotalBiscuit/Yogscast mentioning that it might become their next MMO of choice, but I haven't heard anything about it since release.

TB got paid, he did his job, no reason for him to go on about GW2 anymore. Don't know about the rest but most people have by now realized that the game is kinda bad.

Except AngryJoe that, for God knows what reason, gave it the first place in the top ten games of 2012. Its extremely funny because he was always so excited about it, but I strongly doubt that he even bought the game. Because AJ is more cynical than TB, and, if he doesnt get that the game is bad, its kinda sad.

TB's job is to review stuff. I doubt he has the time to commit to one game only as it's quite clear that his subscribers come from all sorts of different games and abandoning that all to commit to a single game would likely mean a huge drop in subs -> income. Can't blame him, especially if he enjoys playing lots and lots of games to begin with ;) (Which doesn't mean that he couldn't simply think the game IS indeed bad, as RJ pointed out - I wouldn't know, didn't ask him.)

The game is not bad. You find it bad. Big difference there. I think the reason he gave it first place was not only because he liked the game - I'm sure he subjectively had more fun with other games on his list - but because he felt that it offered the best value for money out of all his top games for the year. AJ is not an MMO player, he's stated it many times, neither is he a GW1 fan (I think), so his criteria is different to that of a hardcore MMOer or a GW1 nostalgic.
