I'm glad to see GvG events popping up on the NA servers, haven't watched all the videos yet but I will do. Also brilliant that TSym are getting involved - glad that you came around to the idea of GvG, even if it was sadly after us RG folk have left :( Hopefully one day we'll meet each other again.

Hope to see more videos like this in the future. Show Arenanet that, yes, we would like to have organised gvg fights, thankyouverymuch.

Was pretty fun. 6-3 sounds right. That area behind south camp is pretty much the only place to have them without too much interference. I assume VoTF has tons of experience with this stuff.

Have seen these (including the ones from Europe), don't see what the appeal is.

Not impressed with the WvWvW meta game's highest level of competition skill cap.

In DAoC, any of those guilds would be farmed by a solid 8man.

I'd crush them all at Pong.

Also - disappointed VoTF and HB haven't fought yet. You guys should arrange something when you're next fighting each other.

And get that EMP vs VoTF vid up please :)

You'd be surprised what some of the guilds can offer on the field. Keep talking, we will just keep looting. :)

VoTF vs EMP vid will be up ASAP, We have been busy since reset so we haven't had the chance to compile it.

I joined a SoS guild (no longer in it, quit because of lack of fun content) that is a bit rinky dink and we rolled you (about a week ago) and your giant siege zerg guild several times.

I have seen what they (the guilds mentioned in this thread) have to offer. You can substitute 8man DAoC group with elite WoW RBG team, etc etc.

The skill cap isn't high.

Skill cap isn't terribly high at all on these zerg vs zerg fights, the game design doesn't really allow it on top of lag + culling so get off your high horse. They need to design maps that split people up into more smaller groups. 10 v 10 would be a better showcase of skill imo.

I heard that Babe Ruth got his ass kicked at figure skating.

What? It's a solid comparison.

People can complain about "zerging" but when you match down fights by even numbers, you would be surprised how much easier/harder it is to combat groups, even the slightest routing mistake could cost the entire team.

Even though you're obviously out here to troll, I do kind of agree with you. The problem IMO is that Anet seems to have no interest in supporting anything but their sPvP E-sport ambitions (which are doing splendid atm, lol) and WvW is supposed to be a casual PuG zergfest.
Atm you have to spend about 90% of the time looking for opposition. This means that for every 4 hours spent in WvW you get around 24 minutes of actual "practice". That's my experience from T1, in the lower tiers it's even worse. There you can just spend entire nights rolling over PuGs. Actual competition and the ability to practice against people of your level on somewhat equal playing fields is what improves your performance as an individual and evolves the "meta-game".
This is what we are trying to achieve with these "GvG"s. Not that you'd care though, since you are only looking for Nerdrage posts.

'slightest routing mistake'

Stacking on the commander or group target is hard from what I hear. If you are even 150 units away, all the benefits of stacking can go right out the window!

In most any other MMORPG, stacking like that would get your team killed.

Now that the above troll has gone back to his really skilled game, id like to say that it is awesome to see some GvG going on, and I really hope Anet implements some organised way of doing this soon.

Thanks for the fight guys. It was fun indeed, and I hope we get to do this sometime in the near future. The way HB runs, we are not build or set up for this, so we tried out some new stuff, and got some valuable data that we now can analyze, and hopefully come back better prepared next time. To bad the JQ and SoS pugs couldnt leave us alone :(

Once again, thanks for making this happen EMP.

There was one GvG battle vs RG. This took place in the middle of a still very precarious match. The above video is from an already decided match.
