Anyone else find it amusing that the way they did the reset Sorrow's Furnace is looking like a lock to go from T8(22nd) to T1 Green(1st) in a week. I am happy that this will hopefully help to balance out the matches faster. As a member of SoR it makes me sad that no matter how well we do in our first week in Tier 1, currently we are winning a very close 3 server race, we will not have the chance to compete in Tier 1 again next week.

I know after this T1 match up I'm going to need a little breather so I'm ok with it. However I feel bad for the servers we're about to wreck in  the lower tiers.

Lol relax, it doesn't matter who is on what Tier after this week, give it a few weeks for the ranking to re-balance to it's proper form.

Given the current match-up for the new groupings for next week, I can already tell who will win in each tier lol

  Noone should be overly concerned with the first 3 or 4 weeks of this stuff.

   We are basically doing over what we had to do at launch...figuring out where everyone belongs.

  There will be some wild swings this month.

   Consider it pre-season, and an opportunity to do your map completions.

Honestly I think it will be great for some of the servers like Jade Quarry to get the chance to face some of the other servers in this game. Sure we probably will win those matches but I firmly believe that JQ won't be kittens about it and spawn camp them all week. I would love to get a chance to face off against of the really strong teams in the lower tiers, [RET] from Fort Aspenwood comes to mind.

im not sure how it'll be fun, based on current millenium predictions there's gonna be 2-3 tiers that'll be somewhat competitive, all the others have one server that's 10+ ranks away from the others.

Yeah now that you mention it, JQ is the one server that hasn't either brought itself from the middle of the pack to #1 (SoR, SoS) or gone to the middle/bottom from the top (HoD, ET, SBI etc). When was the last time JQ wasn't in tier1? From this graph they were always there:

My memory is fuzzy on it, but I believe JQ spent a total of 2 weeks in T2 before the Millenium site started tracking scores. As such, I'd wager JQ has faced the least number of different opponents of most if not all servers.

Edit - Actually it looks like the honor goes to Ferguson's Crossing,with a total of 6 different opponents since MOS started recording. JQ had 7. My own server has faced 10 different opponents over the same time frame.

Honestly dude, you should only be concerned if JQ, SOS, and SOR are continually matched up against each other for reasons such as a very close score. That would essentially mean that T1 servers are stuck in T8 because no1 can increase their rating because of the close scores (which is really funny if you ask me). As long as 1 of the servers move a tier, things will go much faster and us 3 will be back in T1 in no time (my opinion)

At least 1 of our servers has to either fall back or really get ahead.. If we are all against each other next week.. This could take some time.

Yes, if we go all out - it will take a while for us to return to our rightful thrones. Would be much faster if one server dominates completely - which would mean collusion ....

The predictions for next week on that site are done using old formula..thats was changed by A-net already..even they say on that site prediction is not gonna be accurate. Hopefully Anet will release the new ranking formula when week is over and then they will be able to predict properly. There won't be any from rank 20+ to Tier 1 stuff on reset dont worry.

Anet said the formula would be slightly changed, mostly in how it handles volatility, so the predictions from the old model won't be perfectly accurate, but yes there will definitely be huge disparities in next week matchups.

We were in T2 for one 3-day matchup, and one week long matchup.

I don't concern myself with what tier the servers are competing in. It's moreso who we will be competing against that matters for the quality of WvW. If the current system that is in place does bump us down it's of no matter, however I'm certain Anet is closely monitoring the activities of every server to adjust accordingly.

In general I'd say people give a shit about the piss poor matches they are going to play, not who has the highest rating for a few weeks.

But wait I'm not sure if this is how the new reset will work or if Mill is wrong, but it seems that SoS, JQ and SoR will not meet in T4...we are all spread out now O.o

Good news all, they're not going to go ahead with the reset. The current scores and algorithm will remain in effect.

T1 is looking like a 3 way rematch.
