Please, if you see someone kiting a mob and dodging but not attack don't kill the mob.
They are probably doing daily dodge.
This happened to me 4 times tonight making a 5 min process take way longer.
I do like the fact people are willing to help but it does get frustrating.

Thank you and see you in game

Am I the only one getting fed up with this "omg stop killing my mobs" crap?  I have seen so many people verbally abusing others in chat because they wandered through an area and thought they were helping.  Evade stealing... my freaking face...

Find a secluded area if you don't want to be bothered by others.

Why do you need to spend 5 minutes going out of your way to get this when you can get this achievement just by playing normally?

It takes focus to dodge at the right time for it to actually count as an evasion.  Overwhelmingly often, I'll dodge too early during actual combat.  I'd much rather find an enemy with a good tell (I like raptors) and get the dodges out of the way all at once.  Especially on a day like today where you have gathering, healing, and crafting in the mix, none of which are going to get accomplished by "just playing normally."  After I've done those, all I have left is kill variety and dodging.  I'm going to have to slow down my pace to get 20 dodges by the time I've killed 13 different types of enemies as it is.  I might as well slow down the pace a lot and get them all on a single, easy-to-read enemy.

No get over it seriously...

You can do your daily through just playing the game normally...

To expect others and the whole population of the game to change how they play just because you want to actively farm dodges...

Well sorry but erm...no...

Anet are making some really terrible design choices lately, do they not even think about these things?

If you want to do it, go to Orr. Then gather a huge ball of undead. Then dodge once or twice. You're welcome.

Or play the game normally and get it in half an hour instead of half a minute.

the other day i was at the end boss of CoF path 1, and the dailies reset during the fight. i'm an aura ele, so i keep vigor up, and i got the dodging daily less than a minute after the reset. it's seriously not hard. lol.

i could see if it was the underwater daily, that's actually one where you have to go out of your way. but dodging? like others have said, you should be able to do that while playing.

I had an hour and a half to play today. I finished all of my dailies within the first half hour without doing anything out of my way to get them. They aren't hard, and you don't need to "dodge farm" mobs to get it.

I'm sorry but this whole entitlement for.dodging is getting out of hand. These mobs don't belong to you, there's no tagging like in other MMOs. I never needed to grab enemies just to get my dodge score up. Besides when you think about it, it's actually quicker just to play normally trough events and you'll get your.dodges at the same time... Unless you're one of these people who don't dodge unless it's for the achievement.

Timberline Falls - best place to do your dailies (all in one place, in my humble opinion), not many players there, lots of down priory ppl, ettins for dodge, they are not very fast, when they want to hit, you can see the animation clearly, theres a patch of cauliflowers for harvesting too, and don't hoard the mobs.
Attached File  stromkarl-heights.jpg   110.81K   50 downloads

Disclaimer: Cauliflowers location may be a bit out or totally wrong, but I think its correct :P

PS: best aquatic combat is to go to WvW, kill the kraits, collect pearls and help the quaggan

PPSS: best place for Veterans Daily is in WvW .

Valid point. Also, some people dodge in a direction away from an attack which prevents it from being counted as an evade. Evading doesn't always require the use of a dodge or a specific skill. Circle strafe is sometimes sufficient but that doesn't count as an 'evade' for the dailies. Anyway, the most interesting was when I bumped into another player who apparently never needed to dodge anything (and now had to do it just to fill the dailies), was already leveled into the 50s and still doing well.

If it makes things easier, part of it is a psychological thing. It is far easier to accumulate the evades by playing 'normally' instead of thinking that we need to make up a certain number of evades to fill the dailies. For the people who have an alt or two, park an appropriately leveled alt in an area rich in DEs (Orr, Harathi Hinterlands, even Kessex Hills) and the evades will be yours in no time...we can get 3-4 evades PER dodge in some of these cases (the word shows and I reckon it counts). As for those who run dungeons, well they get plenty of evades regardless.

As others said: mobs don't belong to you. Usually there are enough mobs in an area to combine dodging with actually killing them.
Maybe he wasn't "helping you", but rather just killing stuff for XP and loot.

That's right, because if they did you'd get banned for stealing them. He's not claiming he owns them, but he's asking that people don't kill random mobs if he's dodging around them. He's asking for a little bit of courtesy, and it's not asking much. If that's too much for you and everyone else in this thread getting ornery about it to do then I can't *ing fathom how you handle real life situations when someone says "Hey, can you pass the salt", like "MY ARM DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU!".

If someone is "dodge-farming" a random mob that isn't important to any events or anything, let them be. It might be a dumb way to go about the achievement, but it's really not a big deal to let the guy do his thing.

Also, it's not really a PSA, OP. Not a big issue, but the title is slightly off.

Just find mobs that have rapid fire attacks (risen hylek for example) and get like 5 evades for one dodge. That's the easiest way to do the achievement.

No. I'll kill what I please. If you want the daily dodge, go do something challenging.

One path of CoE played correctly will give you this daily.

Solution:Roll a Mesmer and use the #1 ability on the spear. Its 2nd attack evades and counts for the dodge daily. This method will also allow you to double up on your aquatic kills for when you have both in the same day.

If u can't time dodges,  head north of Greystone rise in harathi hinterlands. There u find drakes which have a long flame attack that u can dodge.

I rarely get it playing normally. Matter of fact I have not once gotten it normally since they implemented the daily change. Instead I usually have to spend some extra time at the end of the evening to get the missing dodges. I always try to avoid to be in a situation where I rely on a dodge to save me, though of course it happens. Just not enough, and even then I often dodge too early, successfully avoiding the area effect but not getting the evade =/

Thief skill 5. Aggro a bunch, skill 5 is a 3 second channel attacking a single target evading all attacks in the pricess, and you can spam it until your initiative runs out.

That's simply one example. I did it yet again right after the daily reset dodging kholer and the troll in AC.

You could be less of a twit. Telling me not to kill something because it might inconvenience you a little bit is just stupid. It's an inconvenience to me to pass up a kill that I might need for my slayer achievement, or my daily kill variety. In before "you can always go kill another one elsewhere". Well, you could always go dodge another one elsewhere.

Bind dodge to your middle mouse button then go play the game normally -after 5 events you should have dodge 100%.

Screw the stupid mobs. Go find a dredge turret found in many many zones and let it shoot you. You're less likely to have someone disturb you because you don't get exp/credit for a turret.

I agree that events are a good way to get dodges... assuming you're allowed to do them.

This might be slightly off topic, but I got yelled at for wanting to do one last night.  I thought the people standing around were bad or afk... nope... they were standing there watching the NPCs eat it so they could revive them.  Killing the mobs so we could get a gold medal and some karma supposedly ruined their corpse farm.  I couldn't make this shit up if I tried!  It makes me wonder how long until the "Please don't kill stuff if you see people standing around at a DE!" thread pops up.  ;)

I managed to solo a champion in Queensdale last night while people were reaming others for helping and claiming they were in secluded areas.  I get the impression they don't know what "secluded" means.  An area like Queensdale isn't where I would go if I was looking to farm dodges in peace or corpses.

It is frustrating that dodging well in combat does not give you credit for this daily. I have been in many (solo) combats where I have taken no damage because I get out of the way and dodge but never get an evade because I am safe before the critical moment to get an evade. I do generally find myself having to orchestrate some points by letting mobs hit me and dodge way later than I normally would.

This is a symptom of a stupid daily mechanic. Seriously, Daily Dodger really needs to go.

Are you kidding me? it takes focus to dodge? Ok fine this may be biased cuz i WvW a lot.. but just go in there for 2 MINUTES.. you will have like 60% of your daily done in minutes without trying.

This is a strange topic but the fact is that some players are developing bizarre behavior in an effort to be more 'efficient' at the new dailies.   I can't helping thinking that this was never previously an issue.

It may just be a minor problem but these new dailies are only a minor benefit and it seems like all issues could be easily avoided.  ArenaNet took out dailies that were clearly not working like the combo-kill.   The rez daily is weird too, a daily you can perform by organized cliff dying or waiting for NPCs to die is just odd.

I think the dailies should just be kept straightforward, keep the kill aquatic mobs and crafting ones and continue the rotation but I hope when the full system is implemented that they take out these dailies where players are doing off-the-wall things to accomplish them.
