I am with you on that. I am the same way in GW1 with at least 5 characters as loot mules since they can hold more stuff than those extra storage chests do for $10 bucks. Then I have all my PVP characters loaded down with stuff and all their hero
chracters with a weapon and some offhand in each one. I basically only play three characters at a time and just switch out the loot when I want to play another although at the end it basically was between a warrior princess and a necromanceress.
One advantage of hoarding in GW1 is for the Traveler Nicholas. Since I have stacks and stacks of different resources saved up I'm ready as soon as he's found to turn them in for my 5 gifts and then selloff the rest for profit as well. Since the population has dropped so much in that game other players who are lazy are willing to pay 2k or better for a 200-500gp resource that nicholas wants. It's about the only fun I have in that game anymore is just farming for resources for Nicholas. Later I find some fool willing to pay 5k a piece for the gifts. I already have every great weapon he gives from them and I don't care about mini pets (silly waste of resources for a silly mini pet that does nothing for you) so I keep gathering profits for ectos which I save and then get me some nice torment or destroyer piece of gear or a BDS that I can use in battles at least.
But, I've been this way ever since I started playing Gold Box RPG games long time ago back in the 80's. You just never knew what you were going to need and when some major battle was going to require it so I hoarded everything and ended up many times using nothing. lol That's the screaming part of it. You saved this stuff the whole game and never really needed any of it at all. Should have seen my modded loaded pack mule in Dungeon Siege,

In most cases, having extra stuff is just being well prepared. I think its only a problem if it cuts into your time and efficiency in doing things you want.
I'm more of a minimalist at home, but tend to hang on to extra stuff just in case in games and at work. Often extra stuff that never gets used...

Now what I enjoy doing is that when I am out exploring if I come across some sort of karma merchant or drop I find intriguing, I always see what they have and if it is an interesting I keep it in my 2nd bank tab. Kinda like a little treasure box of little treasures Ive found from around the world.
Im a collector rather then a hoarder

Like saving up my T6 mats and coins for a while, selling them, and then deciding three days later I wanted to start work on a legendary...yeah, that was stupid.
I make myself go through every so often and junk stuff that's not useful.

I can relate, I have a
It's a little different with GW2, the only thing I have been collecting are the 1st halloween skins & Halloween Exotics. Nothing else is really worthy yet imo, am I wrong? OP is definitely not The Loan Ranger when it comes to hoarding.

My GW1 storage toons were named Private Mini (after the mini storage down the street) and Ten By Thirty (after their biggest unit). I have a personal guild in GW2 just for the bank- both tabs I've unlocked are already full of sigils, runes, and dyes.
I also don't know if I will ever be able to bring myself to consume that kids drawing. I mean, what kind of person does that >.>

In GW2? Not really so bad. Have not bought any bank tabs, and still working on my solo guild bank tab... but I have 5 chars, 3 of which have 5 or 8-slot bags all filled with stuff and my 1 bank tab is full with like 1 free slot! lol. So I'm well on the way to being overflowing with items yet again!.. I guess that means I am a hoarder... and the only thing stopping me from hoarding more in GW2 is finances (I can't afford gems for extra bank slots.. whether RL money or via in-game gold... lolz).

Are you implying that you have done so?
I bought 3 bank slots, 1 with RL plastic and 2 with IG gold. My 9 characters are equipped mostly with 12-slot bags. A couple have a 15-slot bag. Eventually, all will have 20-slot bags and have the last bag slot unlocked. Have a personal guild with 50 slot bank and research for the 100 slots nearing completion. Then it's 5k more influence to build it and 5k more for next 100. I've mentioned it before and I'll repeat - I *never* have enough storage. Every game has a storage limit and I always hit it eventually.

Problem is, whenever I manage to push myself to throw things away, I soon find that I need something I would have otherwise hoarded.

My bank space is a mess of half-used gathering equipment I forget to equip on alts, cooking mats (arrrgh!), tonics, gemstore costume items, equipment from my main passed down to lower-level alts who aren't high enough to use them yet, runes and sigils, and PvP stuff like badges of honor. I've started to move stuff over to a mule but it doesn't seem to help much.
Fortunately, I'm only like that in online games. If it started to transfer into my real-life I'd be worried
