So I was online last night & happened to be in the Blazeridge Steppes area when The Shatterer popped in to say "Hi".  I noticed that I was the only person in the area, so I posted "The Shatterer up, please come & help".  I waited about 1 min & then decided to start anyways, so I made my way to the hill.

Once there I asked for help again in /map & started to fight....another person showed up after about 5 mins, and this reminded me to use the map chat again, but I was told that I was "Spamming". After re-wording a little I managed to post "The Shatterer up" then I was blocked, "spamming" again :/

About 3 of us fought him for what seemed like eons, before other people realized/stumbled upon our plight & helped with the battle. We won after about 1 hour & 30 mins or so of fighting a boss that should have taken 10-15 mins max. The fact we could not get word out via map chat did not help one little bit.

So, did I fail to use the chat system correctly....or did the spam filter just plain FAIL?

Event Details: Happened about 9:30pm(UTC+10:00) 10/2/13 on Sorrows Furnace homewold.

The spam filter is way too sensitive. It really needs to be eased off by a lot.

I remember a time I was in LA and advertising for a Fractals group. Someone was asking a few questions about the game which I set out to answer. Halfway through answering them, I got hammered by the spam filter and couldn't even advertise for my group TEN MINUTES LATER! And that was me AFK for the whole time!

The spam filter is beyond strict, the second you write two sentences and letters match, you're considered spamming to them and will be blocked.

To arenanet, this is working as intended.

I don't know if it's been changed but if you log off and then log back in the spam filter resets itself.

Yeah, the spam filter is annoying, especially when you are looking for group for Arah.

Anyway, you can always change some words. For example, when you will say "Dragon appeared " or "Dragon event in Lowland Burns" everyone will understand that you meant "Shatterer is here". It's all about being creative.

You can also try to relog.

But I'm strongly against spam filters in WvWvW. When you are commander, you don't have time for thinking how to avoid spam filter's restricitions. Message blocking when you are giving orders can have destructive results. And no spammers ever attend WvWvW anyway.
You can also try to relog.

That spam filter is especially annoying in wvw. For example yesterday our eles got muted when trying to coordinate Swirling Winds to protect our siege from the enemy trebutchet.
