Server EU : Gandara
on Feb 7 i tried to login my account and it was suspended for account issue , i contacted support and this was their first reply
This e-mail is to notify you that a chargeback has been received by NCsoft for a purchase made for this game account.
As a result of the chargeback, the game account associated with the purchase has been closed and the credit or debit card used in the transaction has been blocked and will not be available for use with NCsoft in the future.
Our decision to close an account in the event of a chargeback is the result of both regulations set forth by our credit transactions services provider as well as the fees involved with a chargeback that NCsoft incurs as a result of the chargeback.
The issuer of the card will only process a chargeback if the credit card owner has already attempted to resolve the billing dispute with the company making the transaction without success.
Please be aware that NCsoft support has no record of any requests for assistance regarding billing issues from either the owner of the credit card or the person who created this game account prior to the credit card dispute.
If you wish to access the service in the future, you will need to purchase a new Guild Wars 2 Serial Code. If the purchase is made from NCsoft directly, a different payment method will be required.
Please understand that there is no further assistance that we'll be able to provide you in regards to this issue. Further replies regarding this account may not receive a response.
please note that i didnt buy any gems / any other games and i was on a vacation and didnt log my account for couple of weeks , my ingame friends told me that i was online but it wasnt me , i tried to explain that to gw2 support this was their final response
On February 7, 2013 NCsoft received notification that multiple purchases made on your Guild Wars 2 account were chargedback. NCsoft takes fraudulent claims very seriously and we have a zero tolerance policy regarding this type of activity. Thus, the permanent closure of the account.
Furthermore, I found no indication that your account was compromised during the time in which the purchases occurred.
At this time, there is no further assistance we can provide you. Your Guild Wars 2 account is permanently closed and will not be reopened under any circumstances.
If you wish to play Guild Wars 2 in the future you will need to purchase a new copy of the game and register it to a different e-mail address.

I'm sorry to say but if your account has been hacked and you can't prove it or they don't find evidence of it, it's natural of them to close the accound.. :/
I do feel sorry for you though, can't imagine that happening to my accound.
Oh and inb4 all the "I'm sure you used 1234 pw" posts..

Try to contact the dealer you bought the game from and go from there.
If you were flat out hacked, you'll likely need to buy a new game and start fresh. If/when you do, one thing you really need to do is use a brand new email made solely for GW2 and use that for NOTHING else at all. Far too many accounts are infiltrated through email addresses that people use for anything and everything. Make sure your system is clean of any keyloggers, etc. as well.
Good luck.

It doesn't look like you got hacked. It looks like your credit card's charges were taken back by your credit card company. Does your credit card have record of you getting the money for your account back?

While I do feel sorry for you, I must say it's quite comical that Arena Net's way of "dealing with gold sellers" aka "cash-grabbing techniques" comes back to bite them in the ass.

I would suggest securing both your bank account and email, seeing as it is quite likely that one or both have been compromised.

I do sympathize with you, but Anet does have to do something when this happens. They can't give away their products without getting real money in return just because you seem like a nice guy. I believe this is either a misunderstanding or you're being victimized by a hacker, but in any case its not that Anet is just trying to be a meanie.

I think this is what they're trying to combat.
I agree with wxkinrc's suggestion of trying to get the purchase information from Anet. Something seems odd here; assuming I'm not missing something, how did someone else have the authority to request a chargeback unless they either used a credit card that wasn't yours, or they have compromised your bank account too (yikes)? That would be the first thing I'd try to figure out, because that might end up being your proof.

If a hacker used your account and your cc to buy gems, so he could sell those for money, why on earth would he bother to ask for a chargeback on the cc? Its not very likely that a hacker is bothered with money spent on your cc. It would be like someone stealing something out of your house and then call for warranty on the item at the shop. No thief would do that.
Also ANet can track the ip's from which your account has been logged in. If they say they have no reason to assume your account has been compromised, it also means that they didnt find logins on different ip's.
So if you are not the one that did these transactions i would be looking in your own environment. Did you give your login details to anyone? Family, friends, coworkers? If one of those compromised your acount from your own computer they would be concerned about the money that disapeared from your cc and ask for a chargeback.
I wish you all the best in solving this matter.

You NEED to contact the credit card company and work this out with them. Ask them why they thought this was fraud, etc. It's possible you need to get a hold of someone there with a lot of knowledge about chargebacks. If you want to avoid this again I would suggest purchasing a physical copy of the game instead of the online version.

Please do not continue creating threads on this topic as there's nothing anyone here can do for you.
You are fooling yourself, user. Nothing here is what it seems. ANet is not the plucky hero, Guru is not an evil empire, and this is not the grand arena.
