Some really good stuff in that interview. Wish they would do more video's with this stuff.

Guild Missions seems interesting and could be good in devoleping tyria. A little worried for smaller guilds being swallowed up now by the giant guilds but should still be interesting.

Expanding daily's should make them alot more fun and tailored to the individual.

As always its all in the implementation and not in words that makes it good or not, if the implementation of the new systems of gameplay sucks then it will not be good for the game at all.

Here's hoping they get it right first time :).
For example, you can purchase cheaper waypoint costs for your entire guild while the bonus is active.
That reminds me of the 3-hero limit in GW1. Sure, having 3 heroes in your party was better than being forced to run hench, but a full hero party was just better.
The same way, a waypoint discount is good, but simply removing the fee completely is better.

As noted before, I like the idea of allowing players to choose their daily, but I seriously hope that they take a second glance at the slightly more "core" achievements - the current selection of dailies already includes a few that simply can not be considered as ones that everyone could complete. So I seriously hope we get a few additional VERY generic ones on top of the more time/location specific ones.

Like Eon said, I hope the Guild missions don't cater to the huge guilds that have more players than the smaller ones.  They say its a recruiting mechanism which is nice, but I fear the smaller guilds will be drowned out by the bigger ones.

My fingers are crossed.

He said that the guild missions are started by a guild (probably costs influence), but everyone can participate in some form and get a reward from it. They're basically guild-triggered events or event chains how I understand it.

I'm with Eon there, sounds good but depends on the implementation.

The chance to select among a list of dailies cannot come fast enough for me. The current halfway system is annoying.

Players without a guild are throwing away free stuff (influence rewards). That's of course their choice.

For a game named Guild Wars 2, it's nice to see something that actually promotes more reason to work with a guild...

Yeah can't really say until the update comes out but from what we know so far people who don't want to be in guilds are probably out of luck when it comes to the new "guild missions" rewards, as they said they will get some kind of reward for participation and there will be personal rewards but those not even in a guild will probably not be able to get the higher or guild specific rewards from this type of guild mission system.

It does seem lately Arena Net is pushing out pugs and single players to push them towards more organised groups and organised gameplay or guilds, they don't seem to want pugs and solo players running the higher end content 24/7 anymore. That's just me guessing from observations of what they changed lately in the game.

What it does show me though is Anet is trying to address the lack of guild functions and social mechanics in GW2 which could mean, I really am speculating now :P, that we may see just possibly, guild halls soon? Or something similar? Hint hint nudge nudge wink wink ;)

Looks to me like he's being careful to say that it's not going to be a bonus reward.  If you include something like another laurel, you're making it hard not to do the entire thing, and the whole point of having a choice of items on the list is greatly diminished.  He says achievement points for just that reason.  Do 5/9, get a reward, do 9/9 and get achievement points.

Like the HoM.  Goodies up to a point, after that it's bragging rights.

Go into a party with your friend.
Have one of you join a PVP match that isn't full.
Have the other right click their portrait and click the option to join them in PVP.

Ectos are already 40s now. And now we have a gold find amulet and gold sink reductions incoming. I really don't know what Anet is doing... aside from making everything you do at sub-80 even more worthless.
Well if you want a game with leveling, then that's price of having such ridiculous mechanic. It's natural for everything to depreciate in value when you inch closer to the peak (level 80). Only way to fix this is to get rid of the leveling mechanic and obviously that's never going happen. So my advice...just figure out way to come to terms with the way it is.

These improvements are looking promising, I may start logging in more regularly once the WvW improvements roll out. The interesting dynamic of the whole thing is folks who stopped playing don't have to make a financial decision of subscribing to come back and play.

The focus on the end-game portions of the game seem to be coming into their own, but I fear the journey up to the end-game is weakening. Why complete my dailies on a low level alt when the rewards are better when I complete it with one of my 80's? Daily/Monthly rewards should be flat across the board irregardless of level. Perhaps removing the level relative exp and gold payouts and implementing consumables that give exp and gold relative to level would be more prudent, allowing the player to cash in these consumables for a bigger pay out on higher level characters if they so choose.

Additionally crafting is less and less emphasized and is more of a mini-game than a viable means of obtaining gear...how about making it so a given craft can IMPROVE lower level gear into higher level gear of the same rarity? This would boost TP values/demand of all existing items simply because a crafter can buy them, improve them with relative materials, and resell them as max level items. Adding the ability to craft ascended tier gear would also be a boon to the system making the tier more accessible to casual players.

At any rate, I hope ANet keeps stoking those embers; I can see smoke, but I'm waiting to see fire.

As I said there, some areas simply do not have the DEs, vets, corpses, ... to allow players to complete the daily content. It's one thing to jump around the whole map, hunting down those activities - but if you are in an area and exploring it, doing hearts, POIs, ...then, sometimes because of the actual design OR simply because we are dealing with dynamic content, it's basically impossible to complete the daily.

I know of folks that quit the game because of the waypoint fee. Why play a game that punishes you for exploring its fantastic world?
Clearly, this isn't a call to remove all gold sinks. But it is a call to think twice about about what one will tax.

BS, there are only 3 maps in the whole game where it is impossible to complete all dailies, those are on Orr, and if you have access to those you have access to other maps as well and can go back there to finish the one that can't be finished on Orr.

I hope they re think the trading post taxes and listing fee's to be less harsh. It sucks for seller's big time....im not talking about market manipulators or trading post campers, just normal players get screwed everytime they put something up for sale that can always have a high chance of being undercut for 1 copper...forcing them to wait weeks for something to sell or re list and pay up fee's again....

As a buyer the market is awesome, with no fee's to put up buy orders, since 1 copper undercutting and low demand has pushed almost everything not end game to be worthless....it mainly sucks for sellers and buyers who are after the higher end materials and items. You lose a ton of gold with the way the trading post is currently. Again im not talking about "playing the trading post".
