Were you there later when alot of VoTF did the push on north bay? We had some payback there wiping your push and the golems between outer and inner north bay.

Thought we'd end the night with a bang! We gathered the 20 we had left online and 6 of those had to get inside the golems, sadly the rest weren't enough to defend against the JQ & mortars firing on us.

There were more than 20 SoR there but maybe only 20 VoTF thats true. Yup, we tagged your golems so you couldn't warp them out and then worked on them with the mortars and rushed in for melee. Look forward to more fun tonight :)

Shout out to TW and CHOO on JQBL.  We dont get our asses handed to us often, and you guys dealt it real well quite a few times.

Some people would blame the sun in their eyes, or a dog looking at them, or their own team for their incompetents.  I choose to give credit where credit is due, and salute a worthy adversary!

/salute

You guys kept the night interesting, and reminded us of the price of complacency.

Otherwise, the endless stream of pre-corpses streaming into garrison from the north would have been rather dull. JQ, where hides your A-team? If the mountain will not come to Mohammed, Mohammed shall come to the mountain.

I'm glad everyone who was raging about the scores has either left or calmed down.

Coming down from so many weeks in first still stings a bit, but JQ did it through superior efforts in recruiting and in-game dedication.   It wasn't due to any reduction in effort or sloppiness on our part; so there's no shame there.

All anyone can do is go on and enjoy themselves.  There are hundreds of ways you can make the best of WvW no matter how the map looks.

If the mesmer port for your golems wasn't too long I think we might have had a long fight in the lords room that would have been crazy fun. Just my opinion though.

Next page lets do everything in rhymes!

See you all on the field again, and remember.  First place is earned, and not to be expected.  If your team only enjoys WvW in first expect to be very unhappy a lot of the time, or be willing to transfer your team a LOT!

Learn how to lose people!  There is a right way and a wrong way to do it.  The right way is to analyze the enemy, build your team to be better, and /salute their prowess!

The wrong way?  Blame it!  What arrogance it must take to assume that the only thing that could cause you to lose is treachery from within.  JQ built an amazing team, a team who came together for one purpose.  To destroy the world of men...

Wait, that was Lord of the Rings...  You know what I meant!  Learn to lose properly, take the loss to improve yourself, and build up those around you, not tear them down and make them feel like crap about it!

Also, would it really kill you to show some respect to your enemy?

Some scallywag from JQ has been putting in dodgy data into the MoS site.
JQ certainly didn't go +695 last night.

That's a pretty big assumption that it's someone from JQ. If I were a troll, I'd certainly not make my own server look like garbage by doing that...

A troll would do this to make the other servers look bad. So, posting an obviously stupid PPT like that makes JQ look stupid, therefore, this troll does not come from JQ.

If it were a JQ player, they'd only slightly change it to make us look better, not like a bunch of yokels.

Whether it was a JQ player or not it seems self correcting and a minor problem. Only lasting issue is that it introduces noise for those trying run some analysis on the numbers, but those people would largely better serve their community by being in game anyway.

I was bored and decided to see what kind of trends could be extracted from the historical Glicko ratings spread.

Posted Image

What does this mean? Lower = more competitive if the ratings mean anything. This is the highest week-to-week uncompetitiveness for 1-2 and total since the post-HoD realignment. I believe it's the strongest argument that JQ is stacked with little hope of medium term T1 competitiveness. Long term of course is much more difficult to predict, but given JQ's proven stability, it probably isn't too bold to say the long term is not looking good either.

Note: I don't guarantee 100% accuracy with the numbers, just grabbed them fairly quick from millennium. It should also be note that the total scaling is skewed by the whoppers in the beginning, before ratings really settled.

The problem with using these numbers has been noted before - SoS would play enough WvW to ensure their lead was unassailable before taking a break, while JQ would regularly push hard even when there was no chance of winning, leading to scores that were not as far apart as they should have been considering what the scores might have been on a Wednesday, for example. As a result, you'd get wins with scores which didn't reflect how much of a blowout they really were, and so the glicko difference would be smaller.

That doesn't mean that I dont think JQ is stacked, but it is still being exaggerated a fair bit. We've gone from having much smaller zergs and numbers on maps than SoS to - the week right after transfers closed - having a similar number of people on maps when SoS had their members on for that week. We did have people on at more times during the day though, which is why I definitely agree when people say that JQ is stacked, but perhaps not to the extent that may have been suggested. At this point, it seems like a lot of people are demoralised or aren't playing for whatever reason, and now the difference between JQ and SoS in numbers is more exaggerated.

Score update 10 PM Sydney time. We did hit +400 ppt earlier :)

JQQ  89,451  +245
SoS  67,950  +365
SoR  62,591  +85

[edit - 11pm and SOS is up near +470 now. FoO will have their work cut out for them if and when they come on for JQ]

I think for what you want to do you probably should look at the final scores rather than the rating.

My understanding of the Glicko system  suggests there will be craziness when the second ranked server (JQ) goes above the first (SoS), or say when a server  (SoR) leapfrogs straight to T1 over the second place server (SoS). you can see this in your graph.

Unless things change drastically I imagine you will see SoS and SoR ratings settle down to be fairly close with JQ a bit ahead but not as far. In other words, these gaps to close.

We decided to grab every person living in Niue and popped them in internet cafes to help make us stacked. But we crippled the island nation in the process. SoS bringing in the new meta. Go!

There are stupid people everywhere. Including this forum.

My point being, assuming it's a JQ player based on the fact that the JQ score was manipulated is, let's find a word here, uhhh, stupid. Any stupid player from any stupid server could commit this stupid prank.

Saying it was a JQ player kinda smacks of the very thing this player intended, i.e. trolling.

To clarify my initial point, I'm not saying it wasn't a JQ player. I am saying creating a post stating a JQ player did it is stupid. And therefore the poster who said it was a JQ player is stupid.
